CHAPTER LXVI

The moment her green eyes landed on Chase, a sob cracked from her lips. “Chase,” She rushed towards him and threw herself in his arms. “Chase,” More tears spilt from her eyes, and she clutched onto his arm, shaking her head. “They-those men. They took me away. They-they forced me. They were tired of waiting. They said they were tired of waiting for you to bring her to them. They-they made fun of me, Chase. They said horrible things about me. They said you didn’t care about me. They said you preferred her over me and that was why you didn’t take her to them. They said I am a pathetic excuse of woman who couldn’t satisfy her fiance that he even had to find satisfaction in a teenage girl. I told them it was a lie but they hit me. They told me to shut up that I was a useless and worthless woman. They called me degrading names as they took turns with me. They wanted her. They wanted to keep her. When you-,” She gripped his collar and looked at him in the eye. “Why didn’t you take her to them? They-they forced their selves on me. They were-they were five of them. They forced me. It was hurting. It still hurts. Why-why didn’t you take her to them? If you-if you did they wouldn’t have touched me like that. They wouldn’t have been my firsts,”
“Shhh, calm down, Saige,” Chase held both of her wrists and pulled her away from him, wrapping his arms around her shoulders as he took her to the bed. “The doctor is on his way. He’ll be here right away,”
“No. No,” She shook her head again. “The doctor won’t help. He won’t make me forget. He-the doctor won’t return me back to who I was. I-I won’t be a virgin again with his help. I-I kept myself for you, Chase. You-they took it away,”
“I’ll make sure they all pay for all they did, I promise,” Chase cupped her cheeks as he sat her down on the bed.
The tears didn’t stop flowing. “You-you caused it all. You chose her over me. You chose that girl over your fiancee. You didn’t take her to them. Now look at what they did to me. You she – I hate her,” Saige grabbed the alarm clock on the bedside and threw it towards Sophia but Lucas was quick to drag Sophia away because she was too shocked to move. When the alarm clock fell off on the floor and broke, Saige became outraged. “See what I’m saying! Everyone cares about her more than me! They all prefer her! She should have just fucking died that day from the airport! I’m going to kill her!” She stood up from the bed. Before Chase or anyone could stop her, she had already hurled herself towards Sophia, ignoring the searing ache between her legs and had her hands round her neck. “I hate you! I hate you! Die! You’re the reason I’m in pain!”
“Sai-,” Sophia’s face had paled. She was clawing at Saige’s hands so she’d let her go. Saige was stronger than her.
Chase and Luciano were pulling Saige away but she wasn’t letting go. Lucas was holding onto Sophia’s arm trying to pull her away from Saige too.
Lucas was enraged. He didn’t realize when he raised his fist and landed a punch on Saige’s face, breaking her nose.
That was when Saige finally let go off Sophia and staggered on her feet. Without looking at the damage he had caused on Saige, Lucas patted Sophia on the back as she coughed while Valerie poured water for her from a jug to drink.
That was the time the head of maids walked in with the doctor.
Saige’s hands were shaking as she pressed them to her bleeding nose while Chase wrapped his arms around her shoulder to pull her back towards the bed.
“Doctor, she’s the patient. Give her an injection to calm her down and put her to sleep before doing anything else,”
“Yes, Don,” The doctor nodded and got to work.
He opened his kit and brought out a syringe along with an antidote in a small bottle. Using the syringe, he filled the polypropylene with the correct dose of injection before injecting it into Saige’s arm as she struggled to be let free.
Before a minute, she fell asleep.
“You can run your tests on her now,” Chase nodded to the doctor.
The doctor nodded.
Chase walked towards Sophia and pulled her into his arms. “Are you okay?”
Her eyes stung with unshed tears. Sophia wanted to cry but she couldn’t. Her neck where Saige had held her hurt a lot and she was sure there was a bruise there.
Stifling a sob, Sophia pulled away from Chase and ran out of the room as the tears finally rushed down her cheeks.

MIRZA HAD TO know his place. He had to be taught not to evade a territory that wasn’t his, and Chase was going to be the teacher. Chase had never evaded Mirza’s territory, the latter didn’t have the right to do that and then have him men rape the lady that would rule the Romano empire beside Chase. He had to be taught a lesson, or worse, sent to his death.
Valerie’s voice pulled Chase out of his thoughts. “Do you think she’s going to be affected mentally? Would you suggest a therapist?”
The doctor just finished running a check-up on Saige, who was still unconscious. Her injuries had all been taken care of, and she was wearing a simple ankle length night dress while a comforter was draped over her lower body. “I can’t say. I’m not entirely sure. She has to be awake, so we’d be able to know what effect the assault had on her,”This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
“But -” Luciano looked at Saige’s sleeping posture, dread coursing through his veins at the thought of her trying to harm Sophia like she had just done. “She acted violent before injected to sleep. Would that keep on happening?”
The doctor sighed and stared at Saige, too. “As I said, she has to be awake before we conclude,” He stared at Luciano. “But to be honest, she’s one of the few assault victims I’ve seen acting so violent after- uhh-,” He stared at Chase who had his eyes on Saige with a cigar between his lips. He looked back at Luciano. “- an assault. It’s rare for assault victims to behave like that. But mind you, she’s likely to go through emotional stress. She would also crave attention and want to be around people she trusts the most
