Chapter 11: Can I bring him the food?
"Just as I suspected," Joday said as she walked towards me. My hands grew sweaty as I anxiously waited for her to speak. Kiro had left a visible mark on my neck, and I hadn't even realized it. I was in deep trouble! "Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! What's on your mind, Joday?" Doday asked, echoing my own concerns. I swallowed hard, feeling the weight of impending doom. "You just came from Sir Kiro's room, didn't you?" Joday stated, sealing my fate. I must have looked like a deer caught in headlights. What should I do? I needed to come up with an excuse! I was about to say something, but Joday continued speaking. "There are so many mosquitoes in Sir Kiro's room, right?" she asked, and I let out a sigh of relief. I had thought it was something else, something incriminating. Phew! Doday facepalmed in disappointment at Joday's assumption. "It's quite shady in the area where Sir Kiro's room is... So I thought our boss must have been attacked by mosquitoes there... And you, Lyka! You always bring food there, but you never bothered to clean it and get rid of the mosquitoes?!" Joday exclaimed, making a far-fetched conclusion. What the actual heck? She really thought that was the reason? Well, lucky me, then. Doday burst into laughter at Joday's foolishness. "Why are you laughing at me, Doday?" I shook my head and quickly made my way to the bathroom to clean up. As I stood in the bathroom, I couldn't help but ponder what had transpired between Kiro and me. What had happened in his room? Did I actually consider giving in? Argh! I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts. You were just drunk a little while ago and got carried away by your emotions, Lyka! That's all it was. Nothing more, nothing less. With a sigh, I resumed cleaning myself up, determined to put the incident behind me. – After the incident with Sir Kiro when we got drunk, I always felt a rush of awkwardness whenever I had to go into his room to deliver his food. It just felt too uncomfortable, especially considering that he's my boss's son and our first encounter was less than ideal. It's definitely a big no-no. "Oh my gosh! This movie is so funny! Haha!" Doday exclaimed to Joday as they watched a movieNôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
on the flat-screen TV in the living room. Since there were no other tasks or work for the day, Joday, Doday, and Miss Linda decided to have a movie marathon in the living room. Madam gave her approval so we could have some entertainment here at the mansion. "Doday, you're even funnier than the movie! Stop with your 'oh my gosh' all the time! Hahaha!" Joday burst into laughter. I think they're watching a really good movie because even Miss Linda, sitting on a single sofa, is laughing. It must be a genuinely funny comedy. I smiled as I observed them, continuing to wipe the displayed furniture in the living room of the mansion. "Precious Lyka!" Miss Linda called out my name, so I looked over at her. "Come here and join us! The furniture is already spotless! Watch the movie with us!" the old woman urged, but I hesitated. I heard that the movie was full of idiomatic expressions and sarcasm, and I was afraid and embarrassed that I wouldn't understand it. I let out a sigh. Reluctantly, I sat on the couch next to Miss. I also grabbed some popcorn that Joday and Doday had prepared. "Hahaha!" "Oh my gosh! That was so funny! Hahaha, it had a double meaning!" "Hahaha, he made a figurative joke!" As they laughed, I laughed along, pretending to get the jokes in the movie, even though I didn't really understand them. "Hahaha! All his words have a double meaning! It's ridiculous! Hahaha!" Joday turned to me and laughed, so I just went along with it, even though I didn't actually understand what was so funny. We all stopped watching and laughing when Sir Kiro suddenly appeared. He stood at the top of the stairs, observing us. Yes, Madam had allowed him to leave his room, but he was still forbidden to come downstairs. We were all taken aback by his sudden appearance, especially since he was only wearing a shirt and pajama bottoms. He looked like a model in those clothes. I swallowed hard. It was the first time Joday and Doday had seen Sir Kiro's appearance, and I could see the surprise and awe on their faces. They gasped as they looked at him, completely captivated.
"J-Joday, is that my Kiro baby? Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh!" Doday whispered excitedly to Joday, unable to contain her enthusiasm. I mentally facepalmed at her choice of words, but it was a common reaction when girls saw a handsome guy. "What are you calling him ‘baby'? Stop daydreaming, Doday! Well, it seems like Kiro has finally decided to venture out of his room... He's coming downstairs now, huh?" Joday whispered back, sharing in Doday's excitement. I couldn't help but listen in on their conversation. Sir Kiro leaned against the railing, his gaze sweeping over the living room. "Miss Linda? Please bring my food up here," he requested in a calm yet commanding tone before disappearing back into his room. My heart skipped a beat. What time was it? I hadn't realized that we had lost track of time while engrossed in the movie. It was already well past lunchtime. Miss Linda quickly gathered Sir Kiro's food, carefully arranging it on a tray before handing it to me. "Um... Miss, why me? He specifically asked for you earlier, ‘Miss Linda, please bring my food up here...'" I stammered, trying to imitate Sir Kiro's voice. My hesitation was evident. The memories of that night lingered, casting a shadow of awkwardness whenever I was around him. It wasn't something I could easily forget. It was a foolish mistake on my part. "Don't want to deliver his food, Lyka? Then... let me do it! Can I, Miss Linda?" Joday interjected eagerly, her eyes pleading with Miss Linda for the opportunity. "Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! No, no, it's a no-no for me, Joday! I think it's best if I go and deliver the food," Doday chimed in, swiftly intervening. It seemed that they had developed a sudden interest in delivering Sir Kiro's meals, perhaps hoping for a chance to flirt with him. But…. unlucky for them, I wasn't about to let that happen. Delivering him the food was my job.
