CHAPTER 36 : HIS TURMOILS AND PAST

HIS TURMOILS AND PAST

**KHALIDS'POV**

"yeah boy, you know dad won't be around today, right.

So it's just going to be both of us at home, you and I, alone.

You know how much I have been looking after you, right.

Dad would be travelling abroad for a trip, and it's going to be just you and I.

I have to keep reminding you, because I know sometimes you are a big whole of douche bag.

I don't want to be so hard on you, so pretend I didn't say all this to you and wait for Dad to go away okay?", She said.

"Yes ma" I replied her.

"No boy, don't call me ma, rather do call me mummy.

I know I am your stepmum, but that doesn't make any difference from your original mum.

She must have carried you for nine months and nursed you till you were off age.

It doesn't mean I can not nurse and breastfeed you, like your mum did.

I love you so much, and I would love to show you what it means to be loved, by your not biological mother.

You don't have to wait so much, but I want you to be eager for it.

Hey, have some candy and relief your stress alright?.

Listen boy, I love you so much and I will do anything...like anything at all....to make sure I have you all to myself.

You love how that sounds right?"

I nodded my head to her questions and let the candy stick off with a plop.

"Do you know how that sounds?, That's how you will suckle me breasts, when your daddy travels for his usual trip.

You don't have to wait too long, you just have to be so eager for that day alright?

Also...... Make sure your Dad, doesn't hear any of this, if he should hear even a bit of it, you won't like how I am going to deal with you.

I will hurt you so much, that all your life, you would only feel the pains.

You are too little for that, and I don't want you to feel the pains I am going to bring upon you.

The love I am going to show you when your Dad leaves, I am not sure anyone has or will ever show you that type of love.... Soooo...

"Khalid",... "Alright, hurry up, your dad is calling you, remember, do not let our little secret out, if you really love yourself, alright??", She asked.

I nodded my head.

"Ohhhhh no, I don't want you nodding your head to my question, I want you to answer me with your mouth, do you get that?"... "Yes mummy", I replied.

"Alright hurry up, go meet your dad, and when you are done, you come back so we could finish up with our little secrets", she said giving me a wide grin.

I came down from the bed, and was about going out of her bedroom door, when she called me back.

"What is wrong with you?, Don't you know that before you leave you are meant to give me a hug, or don't you love me?", She asked.

"I love you so much, mum",. "Then why can't you give me a hug, or do I smell irritating to you?, Or you just want to know my reaction", with that she slapped me hard across my face.

"I am...so-so so-sor-sorry mum, i-i wa-was only in a hurry to answer my dad", I replied.

"To answer your Dad, right?, You feel I don't have a dad, uhh?", She snorted.

"Allah, it's not what you think", I said, I almost wanted to cry, but I remembered what my mum told me, that I should make sure no woman makes me cry.

She told me that no woman is worth my tears, unless I find the woman I would love to spend the rest of my life with.

I never knew what killed my mum, until I was twenty-three, that was when my dad, confided in me about the cause of the death of my mum.

Hell I was furious, but I couldn't turn back the hands of the clock, I loved my mum and still love her, but there was nothing I could do to remedy the fact that she's dead.

"Now, run out and go answer your Dad", she said after which I ran out of the room.

I ran upstairs to meet my dad, he was going through his laptop.Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.

Over the past few months, my dad's colour has been getting more pale daily, I try to ask him what was wrong with him, but he always shuns me off, and tells me not to ever ask him such questions.

He looks so sickly and so...., I don't just know but, he hasn't been looking so well.

"Dad?, You called me", I said.

"Yes, I called you, have a seat", I sat down on the bed, while waiting for whatever he wants to say to me.

"How old are you?", He asked.

I just looked up at him, "why was he asking such questions", I asked myself.

"Is he for real?, Or does he really not know how old I am?", I asked myself.

"Dad I will be fourteen", I replied him.

"That's good, you were just two yesterday, and now you are fourteen, all praise to Allah.

I was thinking that maybe, you are still six years old or thereabouts.

Allah is really wonderful", he said, as he kept scrolling up and down in his laptop.

"Dad, is there any problem?", I asked him.

"No-no, actually, I am good, I just want to lay my head, but the music here is too loud, I can't even hear anything.

I am so surprised that I am hearing everything you are saying, without the music interacting our talk session.

Whenever you are talking, the music becomes too loud, that I can't even hear anything, please just keep on talking", he said.

"Dad, I am not hearing any music, are you sure that there's nothing wrong with you??", I asked.

"Sonnn?, You should look after yourself before you think of looking after me.

I am very okay, you should know it's one of the pranks of old age.

Don't worry Fashid, I am okay", he said.

"Dad, you never make mistake in calling my name, why should it be now, it's Khalid not Fashid.

If you will ask of my bestfriends' name, his name is Rashid dad, not Fashid", I corrected him, I could see weariness written all over his face.

I couldn't even do anything.

"Would you like to see the doctor, I could call the driver so he would take you to the hospital, please dad, I am pleading with you, please, you don't look well", I said.

"Son??, Have you forgotten, that your mum, is a doctor, she's going to take care of me", I was shocked when he said that.

"Dad???, This is serious, mum is dead, she isn't alive, mum is dead.

Have you forgotten, or you are trying to prank me?", I thundered.

As a little kid, I never understood his words, I never did, I never.

I stood up from the bed, his mentioning of my mum's name, made me all teary.

I ran to the door, looked back, I didn't see him again, I couldn't find my Dad.

*********

I woke up from the bed, my bed-sheet was all wet, I felt so hot and sweaty.

It was a dream, a dream of the past.
