His Cure

I pushed him too hard

Beatrice pulled up a long face before she rubbed her throat.

“You–“she was cut short by the sound of a soft dirge.

She removed the phone from her ear and gazed at it.

He hung up on her?

What is he sputtering by the way?

What trouble?.

And, where would she check out if..

She smacked her head.

Is this about her and Zack?

Oops, probably nopety no.

Nothing peculiar happened between them.

Well, Instagram is just the right place to check trending news out.

She switched on her data and tapped on her Instagram app.

The first news that flashed through her eyes was..★Gregory supposed wife who he is going to tie the knot with very soon discovered to be a lesbian★

She scoffed and scratched her hair.

She went down the page and saw many comments attacking her with insults.

★I feel so bad for Gregory. He didn’t know the woman he loved and is trying to marry is an homosexual.★

Another person replied°

★How are we sure he doesn’t know about it?. They might be trying to fool us together. I’m sure they want to make it just like what we read in novels and movies when the male and female come together in a fake marriage then after some time, they pretend to divorce.★

★From the moment I saw this lady, I noticed she was just too beautiful and I could see in her eyes that she prefer the lady way.★

“That’s outrageous! You fucking asshole! Is she actually jealous right now?. Well, damn you!”Beatrice cursed loudly.

But, who is spreading such news though?

She scrolled down the comment section.

★Olivia is a bad bitch who doesn’t give a fvck about who your momma or papa is. Keep soaring.. girl. keep bringing these celebs’ dirty secrets to us.★

Another replied.

★She is a lesbian too but girl wouldn’t give a care and shove it on faces all around. She came by truthful about what she likes. I love people like her.★

Olivia was the one that posted this?

Beatrice took a sharp breath in.

Trying to disgrace her at the party wasn’t enough and she is trying to destroy her image now too?.

A lot of bad and angry comments has been left on her previous posts and more nasty messages keeps coming in her inbox.

She stared as her name was being dragged.

She took a deep breath in and nipped at her bottom lip.

Gregory want her to take care of this?

Well.. how???

..

Gregory brushed his face down with his palm and released a long sigh.

He doesn’t know why people care so much about people’s personal lives and he detest that!

He could hear the shouts from the reporters in the first floor.Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.

Paparazzi.. all these fucks!

They wanna know about everything and anything that is going on in your life.

Sh! t.

That brings in memories.

** Flashback **

“Why can’t you leave him, mom?”Young Gregory asked his mother.

She was sitting on the bed and knitting a cardigan for him.

She smiled at him.

“No.”she shook her head.

“Why, mom?. You..”

“Have you done your assignment?. Go do that now.”

“Why exactly are you willing to stay stuck with an abusive man?! Mom, I can’t bear to see you hurting yourself and watch him killing you away bit by bit.”

“What would you have me do?. Leave?, what do you think the people would say when they see this?. The paparazzi would..”

“Damn this, mom! Paparazzi!! Paparazzi!! Paparazzi this and this! The fuck do you still care about image?, whose image?! Isn’t that still the one of the man that takes delight in beating you?”

.. ** Fast Forward **

“M.. mom is dead?”Gregory sank down to the floor.

His breathing became unsteady and his eyes turned red.

“Why did she die?”he looks at his father who still had the nerve of holding a glass of champagne in his hand.

He sipped from it and shut his eyes.

“She slipped and.. she fell from the top of the stairs and.. died.”he avoided eyes contact with Gregory.

“I will investigate this myself. You killed her, didn’t you?”

“Shh, you won’t utter such nonsense, boy. What if the paparazzi hears this?”

Tears trickled out of Gregory’s eyes and he scoffs and wiped them off.

“Hey! Gregory?!”

** Back to present **

“Gregory?? Gregory?!”Harry called repeatedly, jolting him out of his daydreaming.

“Oh, yes?, yeah.. Harry..”he rushed his words and fumbled his hands on the files on the desk before him.

“Why.. do you look so sad?. I.. can see waterworks in your eyes?. Why are you crying?”Harry observed.

“Hm?”Gregory sniffed.

“Crying?, what the hell is that, why would I be crying?”he wiped his eyes and cachinnates.

“Did.. you.. were you recollecting the pasts just now?”

“Not a chance. Why would I think about that?. I.. just.. I was out of it a bit, nothing much. Now, I’m back, hahaha..”he laughed nervously, hoping he sounds convincing enough.

“Well, I don’t think this scandal is going to end anytime soon. Your father just published a post supporting Olivia’s false claim.”Harry sighed.

“How do we know it is false though?. What if.. she is truly a lesbian?”he questioned, gravelly.

“Hmm?. You don’t sound sane. Are you doubting your wife too?. I mean.. didn’t you guys know each other so well and wasn’t that the reason you decided to get married?”

“Ugh, please, Harry. Try to live up to the reputation of you being the closest person to me for once. You should know me better.”

“Better enough for me to think this ain’t right?”

Gregory gave an inpatient nod.

Harry gasps and chuckles.

“Really?, Gregory??. You.. I.. thought as much but don’t you think this is way too expensive?. What if you get founded out?”

“Not happening.”he brushed it aside

“What did my father said though?”he clamped his hands together and made a swirl on his swivel chair.

Harry sighed and cleared his throat.

“Well, you’re not ready for this.”he brought out his phone.

Gregory rolled his eyes and huffs.

“Now, listen to this great piece that was well crafted and well garnished with sweet, compelling words.

I didn’t know he had a girlfriend; He never showed me. They seemed to be in such a hurry; They never informed me about their wedding plans.

Gregory is a precocious kid. He’s always lived up to a smart one. I like the way he handles things but I like it more that he handles most of them on his own.

I trusted his judgment because he has been a good judge of characters.

But, when I remember about me telling him of the need for him to marry before he takes on my properties, I started to doubt it all, him, her.

Now, it appears my son couldn’t wait to get his hold on my properties, and he decided to marry blindly,(with regrets)and his wife is an homosexual. Don’t face my son, face me.

I pushed him too hard.”
