Chapter 460
S31 203. Ava’s Struggle
A nurse tried to calm Ava. However the woman still shook her head, rejecting all the words directed at her. She was very weak. The pain. seemed to knock out all the bones in her body. Her brain could no longer function normally.
“No. I have no strength anymore. I can’t continue.”
After taking a heavy breath, Jeremy bowed. The nurse had shifted. Jeremy had more freedom to stroke Ava’s hair which was wet with sweat and her face which was flooded with tears.
“Ava, can you hear me? Ava?”
Their gazes finally met. Jeremy could see the desperation in those brown eyes.
“I can’t take it anymore, Jeremy. I can’t. Let the doctor take it out. can’t take it anymore.”
Jeremy’s chest felt like it had been torn apart. He almost choked pain. Stroking Ava’s shoulder, he shook his head. “No, I know you. You’re not someone who never gives up, Ava. You can do it.”
“But I don’t have the energy anymore, Jeremy.”
“There is. There definitely is.” Jeremy grabbed Ava’s shaking fingers. This is for our son, Ava. He’s been waiting a long time to see us. You want to see him, right? You want to call his name, right?”
Ava didn’t move for a moment. Her eyes slowly started to brighten. ”
Orion?”
“Yes! Orion can’t wait to call you Mommy. Therefore, try one more time, hmm? This is the last time.” Jeremy tightened his grip. “Push as hard as you can. For Orion’s sake.”
“For Orion’s sake,” Ava said weakly. As her eyes blinked, her breathing movements began to come under control.
Receiving a code from Jeremy, the nurse nodded. After whispering to the doctor, she came back closer and stroked Ava’s arm.
“Okay, Mrs. Harper, catch your breath. Push as hard as you can when you’re ready.”
Ava nodded with a shallow breath. “Okay.”
After a few moments, the scream echoed again. Ava’s whole body was shaking. Jeremy looked away, not having the heart to look at her. A moment later, the doctor managed to pull the baby out. Ava’s tears immediately mixed with laughter. When Orion was placed on her stomach and dried with a towel, the warmth that filled her heart
eased the pain.
“Ava, you did it. You did it!” Jeremy kissed her cheek. When Orion’s cries reached his ears, tears fell from his eyes too.
“You’re great, Ava. So great,” Jeremy whispered as he pressed his cheek against Ava’s forehead. “I love you, My Lady.”
The wife didn’t answer at all. She was too focused on the baby w was now in her arms.
“Orion….” Ava hugged the tiny baby warmly. Her fingers occasionall stroked his chubby cheeks.
Jeremy could no longer speak. From Ava’s side, he joined in stroking their son with great affection.
Behind the glass window, two toddlers were squealing in Philip’s
arms. Their chins twitched, tears fell from their eyes.
“Poor Auntie. She’s in a lot of pain. Luckily Russell isn’t as naughty as Orion. Otherwise, I would have cried seeing Mommy in pain.”
Taking a quick breath, Emily nodded, “I hope Aunt Ava gets better soon. It looks like Orion broke some of her bones. And I hope ….”
Emily glanced at Philip. “Aunt Barbara can give birth smoothly. She’ll faint if she has to wait this long for her baby to come out.”
Philip nodded nervously. “Yes, let’s pray that the delivery goes smoothly. And hopefully she doesn’t find out about Ava’s predicament. I’m afraid she’ll be scared when she hears it.”
A second later, he brought the twins to face Vivian who was crying happily. “Mrs. Bell, congratulations on the birth of your first grandchild.”
Vivian nodded with tears hanging from her eyes. “Thank you, Philip. Thank you.”
The twins got out of Philip’s arms. With emotional smiles, they hugged Vivian. “Congratulations, Mrs. Bell. Orion was born safely.
“Thank you, Louis, Emily. I’m glad you accompanying me here. If i weren’t for you, I would have fallen limp on the floor.”
The twins smiled sweetly. Together, they pulled Vivian’s hand towa
the chair.
“Well then, take a rest, Mrs. Bell. We can see Orion later when he i moved to his room,” Emily said sweetly.
“Yes! Now you have to calm down. All the difficulties are over. We just have to have fun with Orion now.” Louis patted Vivian’s arm.
Vivian smiled slightly at getting that much attention. However, when she was about to praise the twins, the door opened. Barbara came in with round eyes and a face full of wrinkles.
“Phil, what happened? I heard that Ava hasn’t given birth yet? How could the birthing process take this long? What if she bleeds out?”
Philip’s expression turned stiff. His heart raced. Taking a deep breath, he held Barbara’s arm.
“Babe, calm down. Don’t panic. Ava has given birth. Look! She’s with Orion now.”
Barbara turned to face the glass window. Her face was almost stuck
there.
“Is she okay?” she muttered worriedly.
“Yes, of course. She just needs rest. She will recover later. Moreover, she has hugged Orion. She will definitely be fine.”
Barbara glanced doubtfully. “Are you sure? She kept pushing for two hours. There must be something wrong with her.”
At that moment, the doctor came out and said hello. Barbara immediately came over and asked, “What happened to Ava, Doc? What took her so long?”
While Philip was frozen, the doctor answered casually. “This rar happens. We call them sunny side up babies because of their position….”
The doctor slowed down because she received a code from Philip The position is a bit difficult, but you don’t need to worry. Everything has been handled well.”
“What caused that?” Barbara’s expression grew serious.
The doctor thought for a moment. “There are several factors. One of them is that the mother’s pelvis is quite small so it is more difficult for the baby to maneuver. But looking at your structure….”
The female doctor smiled as she patted Barbara’s hip. “Everything is definitely safe. You can give birth smoothly. The important thing is that you keep to pay attention to your nutritional intake, sleep
patterns, and exercise routine.”
Barbara gave a limited nod. There was a hint of relief on her face. When the doctor left, she immediately turned to face Philip. “Baby, come accompany me to exercise this afternoon!”
Philip stared wide eyed. “You don’t want to celebrate Orion’s birth?”
“The day is still long, Phil. We can’t be lazy. Let’s go there after celebrating Orion’s birth.”
While Philip nodded his head, the twins giggled. “Auntie, would you like us to accompany you again? We can clear our schedule this afternoon.”
“Thanks, Kids, but no. Let Philip accompany me. I don’t want you to -make fun of me because of movements that you think are strange.
Vivian chuckled faintly. “What’s the movement like?” she whispered to
the twins.
“It’s all strange, Mrs. Bell. Some look like lying frogs, some look like lying chickens, and some look like praying frogs.” This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
“Praying frogs?” Vivian sighed in amusement.
“Like this!” The twins squat with their legs wide apart. Their hands. were held together in front of their chest. After a few moments, th laughter boomed. “Auntie is so cute when she does that pose!”
“You guys… stop teasing me. That’s for your younger cousin’s sake) Barbara said emphatically.
However, the twins ignored her. They put their hands on their heels, still in the same squatting position. “Then there is also the pose of a frog about to jump. Like this, Mrs. Bell.”
“Louis! Emily!”
While laughing, the two toddlers jumped around Barbara. Barbara,
who was initially annoyed, couldn’t help but purse her lips to hold back laughter.
“Jeez, Philip. I can’t imagine how busy our lives will be in the next few years.”
“Yes, the twins will lead the other kids to do a lot of craziness. Our lives will have more fun and laughter.”
