Chapter 4: Not healing
Chapter 4: Not healing
“Dominic, you are up! Are you okay?” Nathan asked in a worried tone as he helped Dominic sit up.
Dominic held his head tightly as he leaned on the headboard of his bed. He looked around in confusion before settling his eyes on Nathan.
“Nathan? What happened? Ugh… why is my head blasting?” He asked while gritting his teeth to endure the pain. Nathan looked at him in confusion.
“What do you mean by what happened? Don’t you remember what happened?” Nathan asked in confusion. His question confused Dominic more.
Dominic closed his eyes to remember something but the headache wasn’t helping him much.
“No, I don’t remember anything. So, stop irritating me further and tell me what happened!” Dominic asked in frustration and confusion. The fact that something happened which put him in this state and he doesn’t even remember that didn’t settle well with him.
“No one knows what happened to you actually. Do you remember going to the Shadow Eclipse pack?” Nathan asked with a small frown. Dominic looked at him in confusion for a second before he remembered that.
“Ye… yes, I remember…” He trailed off as he slowly started to remember what happened there.
“The situation was messed up there when we went there which forced us to take action against them. A small fight broke out when you suddenly growled out loudly. As if you were in great pain. Just after that you suddenly lost your consciousness.” Nathan explained what happened in the Shadow Eclipse pack and that’s when Dominic remembered.
He remembered the mesmerising scent which turned his mind crazy. And then the unbearable pain in his chest which felt like someone pulled his heart by a sharp claw. He was still feeling the burning pain
inside his chest but it wasn’t that intense like yesterday.
“What happened after I passed out?” Dominic asked while masking his emotions which surfaced back as he remembered what happened yesterday.
“Well, you had knocked down Alpha Derrick before that. So, it wasn’t difficult to make others surrender after that. When they all surrendered, we left the place after taking you and Suzanne’s friend. We gave alpha Derrick a warning before leaving.” Nathan explained and that’s when Dominic remembered the main thing which caused all this.
“Oh, right. Her friend. Where is she?” Dominic asked casually as he started to get down from the bed slowly while ignoring the burning pain on his chest.
“She is in a bad condition, Dominic. A wolf from the Shadow Eclipse pack had attacked her and bit her in the stomach badly. She is not recovering fast like she should be as a wolf. So, the doctors aren’t able to say anything until she comes to consciousness.” Nathan explained with a small frown.
This girl’s health is affecting his mate’s health and mind as well. Suzanne is sad and crying non stop while praying for her. Her sadness hurts him. So, he wished for a fast recovery for that girl as well.
“She is in the hospital, right?” Dominic asked while slowly standing up. He was going to lose his balance but Nathan caught him at the right moment.
“Careful! You should take a rest. Why are you getting up?” Nathan asked with a frown but Dominic pushed his hands away and slowly started to walk toward the bathroom.
“I am going to meet her.” He answered in a blank tone, his back was facing Nathan.
“You don’t have to meet her right away, Dominic. You can do that later as well. You should take a rest.” Nathan insisted with a frown, even though he knew it was impossible to make Dominic agree when he
decides something.
“I am not dying, Nathan. So, don’t make it look like that.” Dominic snapped at Nathan in irritation. “And I need to see whom I brought into my pack. What if it turns out to be another rogue?” He asked in an expressionless tone, making Nathan sigh.
He knew that all Dominic cared about was that only…
“Fine, I won’t stop you then. But I just wanted to let you know that Alpha Derrick is not going to accept our sudden ‘visit’ so casually. On top of that, it wasn’t casual at all. Wolves from his pack died and a lot got injured and we brought his slave here without his permission. He is definitely going to do something. We should be prepared.” Nathan said with a deep frown as he thought how things got so complicated.
“You think I care about him or what he is going to do? He better prepare himself for what’s going to come to him next if I get any proof of him doing shady things.” Dominic said in a cold tone before getting inside the bathroom and closing the door behind him. That was enough for Nathan to know that the conversation was done there.
Dominic is the leader of all the alpha’s in the North region. And he is very serious with his duty and responsibility. He doesn’t tolerate any kind of behaviour which includes breaking rules. He works hard to create a peaceful community even though it’s almost impossible considering they are all nothing but beasts. But he is ready to do everything for that even if that means continuing his legacy of being the heartless Alpha.
He walked toward the mirror with wobbly legs and looked at the mirror, at his reflection. His face was tired. It’s nothing new but there was a different kind of tiredness on his face.
He slowly removed the black t-shirt he was wearing and threw it off at the floor before looking back at his reflection. His eyes fell on the spot just above his heart on the chest. There was a big wound mark
caused by a claw there. It was almost three years old.
“Why? Why did I suddenly feel pain there after years? Why did I feel like the cause of this wound was near to activate the pain again?” He asked himself in a low tone as his hand slowly rose.
He put his fingers on the spot and hissed out loud as he felt it burning once again. Even though it recovered long ago but whenever he or anyone touched it, he would feel like someone put fire there. If no one touch, he doesn’t feel anything.
That’s why he doesn’t let anyone come near him. The pain is almost unbearable. He gritted his teeth as he remembered how he got this and felt anger surging through his veins.
He threw some water at his face to walk his nerves completely, to surge every thought off of his mind. But if the water didn’t work properly, his wolf’s next words did the work.
“I felt her yesterday.”

“No…no… don’t… don’t… touch him… no… no…No!” Athena sat up with a loud shriek but immediately bent over after feeling a killing pain on the stomach. She let out a small cry of pain as she clutched her stomach.
“Oh, you are awake!”
She jumped in a defensive mode and saw a nurse standing in front of her. But that doesn’t mean she relaxed. She kept her guards up and looked at her with a deep frown.
“Who are you?! Where am I? What happened to me?” She asked in an intimidating tone. That was one of her tricks of defence.
Never come up as a softie in front of a new person.
“Please calm down and stop moving so much. You are going to open the wound.” The nurse said in a soft tone, trying to calm her down.
“Wounds?!” Athena exclaimed in shock.
Her eyes widened hearing her. She looked down and saw that she was wearing a short blouse. Her stomach was completely wrapped in white bandage which slowly started to turn red.
The wound opened already.
“Please sit down. You are making it worse.” The nurse seemed to get irritated by her disobedience but she didn’t care.
“You stop moving and keep standing there.” Athena snapped at her, making her stand still with widened eyes. “Now answer my questions. Where am I? What happened to me?” She asked with a deep frown, trying to remember what’s going on. But it seems like that the most important thing didn’t come to her mind yet.
“You are in the Crescent Mystery pack. You were attacked by a wolf in your previous pack. And for some reason you are not healing fast like a werewolf should.” The nurse explained quickly.
Among all the things she said, only one thing struck Athena.
Attacked! She was attacked. No, her son was attacked but she came in between at the right time and got the hit. Her son! Her eyes widened and she looked around frantically. Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
“Wh…where is he…? Where is he?” She asked in desperation and utter worry.
“Where is who? Who are you looking for?” The nurse asked in confusion.
She suddenly remembered everything that happened. Her heart dropped thinking what might have happened to her son when she lost consciousness.
Did they capture her son? Did they hurt him? Is he okay? He must be so scared. He must be crying.
She couldn’t stop her tears with all those bad thoughts. She got down from the bed in desperation and tried to get free from the attached devices when the nurse stopped her. She starts to trash around while crying to look for her son.
“Where is he? Take me to him. He needs me. Take me to him.” Athena cried out loud while giving a hard time to the nurse. She didn’t care about her wounds which opened completely. Her bloods stained the whole hospital bed and her blue skirt which she was wearing
“Miss, please calm down. You still haven’t recovered fully and your wounds opened up again. I have to clean it up. You can’t go out and make the wound worse. As I already said, you are recovering slower than a normal werewolf.” The nurse shouted at her while pressing a button which was on the table.
Athena suddenly became silent hearing the nurse’s last sentence. She was recovering slowly. She always used to recover in the blink of an eye. But it changed. It all changed almost three years ago. Now she doesn’t recover fast but slower than ever, almost like a human. Even though she has her wolf and all other abilities. But her healing ability is not there anymore.
And she knew the reason very well. She knew that it’s never going to change. She is never going to get the ability back. She remembered how this happened and it didn’t do anything other than bringing her more pain.
So, she shrugged her head to come out of it and then remembered her son again. She looked at the nurse fiercely who was not letting her find her son. She lost her calm completely at that moment.
“My recovery can go to hell, where is my son?” Athena demanded in a strong tone, making the nurse take a step back in intimidation. But soon a stronger voice pulled her out of the intimidation to push into another one.
“You have a son?!”
