Hiding Behind Her Superficiality

Chapter 736

Chapter 736 Side Story: Efforts in Pursuing Her 18

It took Yelena several hours to pack up all her things, and then she sent him a text message. "When are you coming to pick them up?"

There was a long delay before Hank replied with a phone call. At first, Yelena was hesitant to answer, as communication between them had become somewhat awkward. However, she eventually picked up the call, determined to return his belongings.

"Have you finished packing up everything?" Hank asked, catching Yelena off guard. It was as if he was neglecting her.

"Yes, I've packed everything. Are you coming to pick them up, or should I bring them to you?" Yelena responded, trying to sound composed.

Hank chuckled lightly on the other end, though his laughter felt strangely ironic to her. "It's okay, you can leave them there. I'll come by to get them later."

"Is there anything else you need?" Yelena asked, trying to maintain a normal conversation.

Hank's reply was direct. "I don't have anything else. What about you? Do you need something from me?"

Yelena denied, "No, I don't need anything from you. Alright, if there's nothing else, I'll hang up."

"Okay."

After ending the call, Yelena felt increasingly uneasy. What was going on with Hank? His attitude had changed so drastically today that he even seemed unwilling to have a proper conversation with her.

Could it be that he had finally made up his mind this week and had decided to stop bothering her? Was he completely moving on?

As Yelena pondered these thoughts, she heard the sound of a car horn outside her door. Looking down from the balcony, she saw Hank's car parked outside. As he stepped out, Yelena's eyes widened.

He had come to collect his things, but he had brought another woman with him?

Hank personally helped the woman out of the car, and they were even sharing jokes and laughter. Although Yelena couldn't hear their conversation clearly, their interactions appeared intimate.

No wonder he had forgotten about her so quickly. He had already found a new partner.

Surprisingly, Yelena felt a sense of subtle disappointment in her heart.

Nevertheless, she composed herself and prepared to welcome his arrival, or rather, their arrival.

As the door was knocked, Yelena adjusted her demeanor, put on a smile, and opened the door.

Standing outside was Hank, accompanied by the tall and slender woman who wore silver-framed glasses and exuded a mature, sexy aura. It seemed that he had changed his taste in just a few days. Yelena compared herself with the woman in her mind and couldn't help but admit that the other woman did indeed seem more charming. As she thought this, a sense of unhappiness washed over her heart.

"Hank, is this your girlfriend?" The woman's voice was deep and seductive. If it were any other man, they might have been completely enamored by her voice.

Hank corrected her, "Your phrasing is a bit off. She's my ex-girlfriend." Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.

"Such an adorable girl, and you didn't know how to hold on to her. You're quite picky, young man," the woman commented as she playfully pinched Hank's face, her actions revealing their affectionate relationship. Their sweet interaction naturally drew envy from onlookers.

Finding the scene too hard to bear, Yelena turned her head away, unable to watch. After all, who could accept their ex-boyfriend openly flirting with another woman, especially a potential new girlfriend, right in front of them?

"Alright, enough playing around," Hank said. He wasn't angry. Instead, he smiled and looked like he was in a good mood. Yelena knew that he had a strong sense of cleanliness, so his relationship with the woman must be something special if he allowed her to touch his face without hesitation.

"You two must be here to collect your things."

Hank noticed that Yelena used the words "you two", realizing that she was concerned about the woman next to them. A subtle smile tugged at his lips.

"Yes, we're here to collect our things," Hank confirmed. Then, with a raised eyebrow, he turned to Yelena and asked, "Would you mind helping us move some of these?"

Yelena hadn't expected that he would actually make her do the heavy lifting herself. She had initially

thought the three of them would each carry one box, but Hank went ahead and stacked two boxes together, effortlessly lifting them up. So, in the end, it was just her doing the work with him, right? Did he not want his new girlfriend to get her hands dirty?

She was infuriated by the thought that he spared his new girlfriend from lifting a finger. Yelena's anger flared, but she had no choice but to carry the box down. The three of them arrived at the car, and Yelena, who was not very strong, was now quite exhausted. She placed the boxes on the ground and panted, saying, "I've moved the stuff for you. If there's nothing else, I'll just go. We don't need to meet again."

"Wait a moment."

Yelena turned her head, her tone unfriendly. "Mr. Damazio, do you have something else to say?"

"Why are you so angry with me? Have I done something to offend you?" Hank asked, genuinely puzzled.

Not asking would have been better, as the question only ignited Yelena's anger further.

"Why should I have a good attitude toward you, Mr. Damazio? We've broken up, haven't we?" Yelena managed to force a faint smile. "As I said before, if there's nothing else, I'll be on my way."

Hank chuckled lightly. "I stopped you for something, of course."

"Then please, go ahead."

"I forgot to mention this before you came. It's not just these things that are going on. It's also you too.

You're coming along."

Hearing these words, Yelena felt as if lightning had struck on a clear day.

"What?"

"Wasn't what I said clear enough? It's not just these things I'm sending over. You're also going to come and live where I stay," Hank repeated.

Yelena took a moment to process this and then asked, "Are you saying you want me to live with you? Don't joke around, okay? I live fine at home, and my parents would never..."

"Your parents have already agreed to it. They're letting you move in with me," Hank interjected.

Yelena was shocked and turned around, only to see her parents, who had been standing behind her just moments ago, now had the front gate firmly closed. They seemed determined not to let Yelena go back.

Yelena's mouth twitched slightly. She had not anticipated this scenario at all. She had no idea what Hank had said to her parents to bring about such a result.

"Hank, did you lose your mind today?"

"I haven't lost my mind. I came here to tell you that, if there's no issue, you should move back and live with me as my wife," Hank said with a serious expression, not sounding like he was lying.

"Wife?" Yelena almost burst out laughing in exasperation. "Do you have any evidence to prove that I'm

your wife?"

With a snap, he presented the marriage certificate right in front of her.

He actually has evidence?
