Her Savior

Chapter 15 Conviction

She had finally calmed down, he sighed when he got her to get up from the floor and move her to the bed.

He was feeling the suffocation, the AC in the room was not working. But she was still holding on to the blanket as if it was her life vest. He decided to open the window and let the cool night air into the small motel room.

“Look, why don’t you get dressed, we’ll go back to my house and…”

He didn’t get to finish his words, she was already shaking her head.

“Okay, we’ll go to another motel? or better yet a decent hotel? Look, Blair, please… let me take care of you?”

He knows… he knows, that he was going up against all that he believes in. But he couldn’t care less, he wanted to help her, he needed to keep her safe.

She’s a killer, she had said it and deep down he knew she really was, and he knew that there was more to the story than she lets on. He needed to know, he has to know the truth to help her.

And he was making her, his mission. He barely knew her, and he was ready to give everything up knowing that he needed to help her.

It was a very strange feeling for him, and he was feeling the urge to fix it all for her.

“Just hold me?” she begged him, and he relents to her wishes.

He stays for another half an hour holding her until she was breathing steadily in his arms. The cool midnight breeze was flowing into the room, making it all better.

But he still didn’t like the neighborhood. He wanted her back, he wanted her to be by his side. Keep her safe.

Moments later he slowly put her down to the bed and sighed seeing her practically wearing nothing but her panties and a tank top. She was beautiful, bruised but still lovely, he could see the outline of her nipples and the mound between her legs.

He quickly pulled the blanket to cover her body, not wanting his mind to stray far. Because at that time, he needed her issue solved to protect her.

“You are coming with me, I know somewhere safe. And this place is not safe.”

“Maybe… maybe you should just arrest me? I’m so tired Ian. I’m tired of running away.”

“We will move from here, then you will tell me everything. And I mean everything that made you kill him.”

That was all he said, then he gets himself busy with packing up her stuff and cleaning the room from their fingerprints. He was wiping every surface down, making sure that they didn’t leave any bread crumbs.

She was decent when he was finished. She looked as if her mind was millions of miles away and all that he could think of was pulling her back to him.

He was crazy to think that he would make any arrangement for a killer, but he had a gut feeling that it was self-defense, or at least that was what he had hoped for.

She was silent the whole ride to the mountainside, he would caress her cold hand every couple of minutes but she was still not talking.

“Markov? Yes, I’d be cashing out on that favor. The safe house, the red cabin I need to use it. It’s a confidential manner, a private matter. And I would need your best IT guy on loan…”

He had contacted the Russian mob before they leave the motel. He was that desperate. Maxim had owed him a favor, they both had a thing where he would scratch his back and he would do the same. He had never asked for a personal favor, and Max was a bit startled but agreed to what Ian asked knowing that one day he would be the one who would be on the other line asking for a favor.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

In Max’s business principle everyone should be within his reach. It’s best to keep the authorities close. And he had run a thorough background check on Ian years ago when he was in deep shit. His men reported that he was clean, a career-oriented cop. One thing he hates was a corrupt cop looking for kickbacks.

Ian finally got Blair to the red cabin, it was a small secluded place deep in the woods. He had come across the place when he was hunting down a suspect and the Russian was tangled in the crime.

He was deep in the case, and no one in the precinct knows about the place. Maxim had negotiated a term with him, and he was liking the odds, and that night he struck a deal with the mob.

“Come on let’s get you inside first, I’ll get your stuff later, I need to put the car in the garage.”

It was almost dawn when they got to the safe house. The keys were where Max had told him to be. He had let her into the house, and she was asleep on the couch when he was done parking the car and putting her bag in the bedroom.

He had also put their impromptu grocery shopping stuff into the kitchen cabinets. He sighed when he finds a bottle of vodka on the shelf.

Pouring himself a glass, he sipped the clear liquid slowly then chugged it down in one go when the taste hit his buds. Moments later he puts the glass aside and carries Blair to the only bedroom in the small cabin.

The room was cold, he had just turned on the heater. She was suddenly awake when her cheek touched the cool pillowcase.

“I’m sorry I overslept.” She sat up feeling a bit groggy with all that was happening. But then he couldn’t help himself but lower himself down to kiss her.

She was quick to drown herself in his kiss. He has always been gentle with her, and she was feeling comfortable with him taking care of her. She was bearing herself to him and she didn’t even care anymore.

She was feeling the need to feel more of him. She stopped their kiss to take off her jacket. Her cast hand rest on his lower abs while her other hand was greedily touching him. He groaned louder when she deepens her kiss and lay on her back, while she pulled him above her.

He was hovering on top of her when she was looking deep into his eyes, and her slim fingers were unbuttoning her blouse.

“Blair, maybe we should…”

She was embarrassed with her boldness, thinking he didn’t want her to move this fast. She was ashamed that she wanted to feel him so bad, that she wanted him to erase Benjamin from her thoughts.

We just met. And I acted like a slut for wanting him, a bruised and battered slut.

Her thoughts were all over, and her self-confidence was gone. She was back to being the timid wife of Benjamin. Where she quickly tried to button up her open blouse. Her eyes were teary, and she bites her lip trying to hold herself from falling apart.

“Hey, baby… please. It’s not that I don’t want you. I thought that…”

“I need to forget about him, I need you to make me forget about Benjamin. I need you to get rid of his touches…”

And she finally couldn’t take it anymore and her tears finally fall again. His heart clenched, his hand wiped away her tears, and he lowered himself down and start kissing her.

“Ssh… I’m so sorry, I got you baby…”
