You come back!
Rebecca remained silent, as she didn’t know how to tell Emerson about what Brandon did when she was abducted. She’s trying to say something, but there are no words coming out of her lips.
“I thought you died, Emerson. How did you survive after those shoots?”
“In your dreams, Milady, I died, but I’ll never kick the bucket because I know you will be miserable without me. I heard from Lucille that you’re having anxiety ever since we fought,” Emerson explained.
“I’m sorry for being so obsessed, Emerson,” Rebecca apologized. “But I don’t want to fool you, because I love you so much-I have something to tell you, and I hope you’ll still accept me after you know this.”
“I also have something to tell you, Rebecca. I hope you’ll still love me after knowing all my creepy secrets. I hope you’ll still trust me no matter what. I hope you won’t blame me for being like this.”
“I don’t blame you, and I love you for being who you are, Emerson. I already know that you worked for Brein Loi, and that was the reason why I wanted to cut the tie between us,” Rebecca said.
“But I realized I could never live without you by my side. My world only revolves around you, and it was coming to a halt when you were gone, and I didn’t know what to do anymore,” Rebecca added.
“Alright! I love you too, Rebecca. I love your flaws and weaknesses. But what’s that thing you wanted to tell me?” Emerson asked.
“No-nothing; I just want to tell you that I love you, and I will never cheat on you from now on,” Rebecca said before stepping out of the car. She quickly headed inside the place where she grew up, and she never expected to leave this place after everything.
“Rebecca, you come back!” Lucille happily exclaimed. “And you’re with him.”
Hearing Lucille’s shouts, Bernadette and Elfedio went out to the mansion to confirm if it was true. They were excited to see their daughter, as they couldn’t even sleep because of their worries when she was gone.
“Mom! Dad!” Rebecca ran towards her parents and embraced them as she couldn’t prevent her tears from forming inside her golden eyes, and she said, “I’m so sorry for leaving, mom, dad.”
“Rebecca, you really came back!” Bernadette exclaimed. “We are pleased to see you again. We were so worried about you.”
Meanwhile, Emerson was just staring at them from his car. He doesn’t have a face to show Rebecca’s parents, especially after what they did. They were the ones who told those workers to kill him; fortunately, he’d escaped.NôvelDrama.Org exclusive content.
“By the way, who brought you here?” Elfedio removed his arms from Rebecca and stared at the car outside the gate of the mansion.
“My daughter, what did they do to you?” Bernadette asked worriedly as she touched Rebecca’s face and wiped her tears. “You look so untidy and tired. Are you hungry? Come on, let’s get inside.”
“Brein Loi. He was the one who did all of these; he was the one who abducted me and did all these unforgivable things,” Rebecca cried. “But I’m thankful that Emerson came and saved me.”
“Brein Loi? Emerson?” Bernadette and Elfedio simultaneously exclaimed.
“I will never forgive that demon!” Elfedio exclaimed.
“How come? I thought Emerson died. Our men told us that they were set up by that cruel mafia boss, and they killed him,” Bernadette said.
“Do you mean you were not the one who sent those men to kill him?” Rebecca asked. “I was thinking that you got mad because you don’t want me and Emerson to be together.”
“No, it wasn’t us, my daughter. It was Brein Loi’s men who tried to shoot Emerson, and our men even helped him escape from them; we also found out there was a traitor in our mansion who has a connection with that cruel mafia,” Elfedio informed.
“Your dad is right. We’ll never hurt the man you love because we knew you’ll be miserable when he’s gone. You were always looking for him when we tried to send him away from you,” Bernadette added. “We’re so sorry for what we did, my daughter.”
We’re so thankful that Emerson came to save you after how we treated him ever since we knew he worked for Brein Loi, as you’ve told us, but we realized that he’s not a bad guy,” Elfedio said.
“Do you want me to ask him to get inside, Ma’am?” Lucille asked.
“No. He told me he’s going back to the people who saved him from those men. He has a debt of gratitude to those people who healed his wounds, and if I wanted to join him,” Rebecca told them.
“You mean you’re leaving us?” Bernadette asked. “How can you trust someone who worked for a mafia boss? Do you not need us anymore that you’re choosing him over us, your parents?”
“That’s not what I mean. I just want to stay with Emerson since I agreed to marry him. I hope you’ll respect my decision because I’m not a kid anymore as you always treat me. I’m already of age to decide for myself.”
“If that’s your choice, then why won’t he come and ask us about his plans? Does he think we’ll let you go, especially now that we’re not safe?” Elfedio asked in a loud voice as he angrily stared right at Emerson’s car.
“But dad, I thought you loved me, and you’re willing to support me wherever I’m happy, so why won’t you let me go and do what I want?” Rebecca asked as she looked directly into her father’s eyes.
Elfedio couldn’t look directly at his daughter. He’s sulking because she just arrived, and now she’ll tell them that she’s going away again. They haven’t even talked about many things.
“Dad, please. I really love Emerson, and I’m confident that he’ll take care of me no matter what. He said he’s willing to protect me no matter what, even if it costs his life. Rebecca tried to convince him.
“What sweet words, but you still need to take your decision seriously because not all the time people keep their promises, and not all the time there’ll be someone who can protect you,” Bernadette said.
“Your mother is right. However, you’re old enough to know what you’re doing, and if something happened to you, you shouldn’t blame us because you’re the one who chose your fate.”
Elfedio’s expression gradually turned sad. He doesn’t know if he can trust his daughter to Emerson. He still doubted that he might send their daughter back to Brandon for money, so he hesitated.
