HER BABY’S DADDY

Eleven

JAX

The sun’s rays illuminated brightly through the curtains and into the room. It’s brightness pulled me out of my unconsciousness.

I struggled to open my eyes and when I was fully conscious, my head began to bang heavily, it was heavy and uneasy. This was a result of the amount of alcohol I had sculled down in the bar last night. I had drank so much that I became intoxicated as a result of the excessive intake of alcohol.

I woke up very weak and tired, I didn’t regret last nights drinking though because it was fun and I needed it to relieve myself from work.

I stood up feeling lightheaded but I managed to walk over to the table where I kept my aspirin, took two pills and gulped it down after taking the water from the glass cup at the table.

The atmosphere was cool and frigid, the cold breeze swept through the city as the moon shun on the earth. The night was bright and chilled, however my body was back to been strong and energetic.

Loud music and chattering from inside escaped the walls of the bar, I stepped down from my car, locked it and advanced my way towards the bar.

“Yo! bro, you’re back” my co worker said as he walked to give me a handshake.

“Yeah bro” I exchanged a handshake and we both walked back to the bar counter.

“You look fucked, you must have pounded so hard into that pussy” he smirked and we both chortled loudly.

“You fuck too much” I stared at him and we both let loose another round of laughter.

“So you take up from here, my time is up” he said to me with a clasp on my shoulder.

“Alright bro” I took a sit behind the counter and sat quietly.

He walked through the loud crowd and soon he was out of the bar.

“Two tequila’s for me and that fine lady over there” a voice called out and veered my eyes to gaze at who spoke.

“Alright” I picked up a bottle of tequila and two glass cups, poured the tequila into the glass cups and handed them over to him.

“She’s hot isn’t she?” he smirked and took little glances at her.

“That lady over there” he pointed towards a young lady in red dress, sitting alone with her legs crossed.

I couldn’t lie she was very beautiful and she had good curves.

“Ofcourse she’s definitely hot” I gazed at her one more time, she had similar facial features with Janis.

I couldn’t help but notice the similitude between her and Janis Walter. Memories of that night began to creep in again and my eyes became immobile.

“Hey man?” he snapped me out of my reverie.

“Yeah yeah”

“You good? Because you’ve been staring at my lady for some minutes now” he raised an eyebrow and stared at me.

“Yeah I’m good, sorry” I wiped my face with my hands.

“You need to get yourself a lady bro, you look like you don’t got no girl. Incase you need ladies you can look round this bar. Ladies are many here don’t think too much about it, they’ll accept you. You are a fine young man” he uttered with a charming smile at me.

“I don’t want these girls” I placed both of my elbows on the counter with a shake of my head.

“Oh that means you have a lady” he grinned and simpered.

“Well…” I blankly stared at him.

“Don’t stress, I understand” He cut me off immediately.

“You have a lady and you feel she doesn’t like you or she doesn’t want you. This is the deal bro, women are like that. They might want you as much as you want them but they’ll try to act up and act cold to see you get attached to them. They want to test you, if you do love them” he added

“Here you go, keep the change” he placed the money on the table before rushing over to his woman.

I couldn’t exactly tell if what he said related to me or not, I don’t have a woman but there was this particular lady who wouldn’t leave my head. I’ve fucked so many ladies but memories of this particular woman lived rent free in my head. She wasn’t playing hard to get or anything, she probably doesn’t even know who I am. I outrightly doubt she would want to associate with someone like me.

“Hey handsome” a lady walked up to me and sat at the other end of the counter.

“What may I get you?” I put up a cheerfull profile, returning the friendliness she showed.

“Get me two cocktails and a hot man” she gave a crooked smile, at once I got the message but I chose to ignore her last request.

I served the cocktails to her.

“The second one is yours” her eyes twinkled, giving amorous gestures she moved closer to me.

“Thank you” I picked up the cocktail and sipped it slowly.

“So do you have plans tonight?” she questioned.

“Where do you stay? I can come over and keep you company” she rubbed her hands on mine and winked.

“I’m good, I have plans tonight” I withdrew my hands underneath hers. Why do this ladies keep coming at me? I don’t want them, I don’t find any interest in fucking this ladies they just keep approaching me.

And it is beginning to really get on a nerves.

Sometimes I just want my peace and quiet.

“I’m not interested ok. Thanks for cocktail but I’m not interested in whatever you want from me” I uttered.

She furrowed her brows at me, pissed and upset that I rejected her offer. In a flash she stood up and left.

“Hey man” a young man whose face I was farmilair with in the bar approached the counter and sat down

“Hi, the usual?”

“Yeah sure” he said in a bored tone.

I served him his usual chilled hennessy and sat opposite him.

“Man! I just fucking hate this world”Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.

“Can you just imagine, my boss threatened to fire me if I don’t submit my fiancèe to him”

“Why are humans so wicked, I’ve been working with him for long and If I forfeit this work to keep my woman, I’ll go back to been broke and I won’t have enough money to fund our marriage”

He sipped his tequila and placed his head down, his countenance was gloomy and sorrowful. I sat quietly without uttering a word. I wasn’t really sure of what to say however I didn’t really want to converse with anyone but it seems as though people were fond of conversing with me. I barely give a reply to all the chattering, all I gave were nods and straight replies.

“You know what? Maybe if I found a better job I wouldn’t have to do it, I’ll just delay my boss until I find a better job and when I do I’ll just leave the company”

“Thanks for listening man” his features saturated with happiness. As usual he dropped his money with a tip too and walked out of the bar.

****

It’s been four hours since I walked into this bar, time was far spent and it was time to close the bar.

The bar was empty, messed up and deserted. It was past midnight so I stood up, took care of the bar and made sure the whole place clean.

Just then a man in black suit walked into the bar and took a sit. He watched me carefully as I continued to wipe the bar clean.

“Hello sir, the bar is closed you can come back tomorrow” I uttered before attempting to go back to my cleaning.

“I’m not here for drinks, I am here for you” he said.

I stood flabbergasted and confused.

“What? me? what the hell?”

Some of this customers just don’t know when to quit all this bullshit they put up in this bar.

“I said we are closed, don’t make me call the security on you sir. Kindly leave this bar or you’ll be thrown out”

I picked up the bar’s telephone that was hung on the wall and reached out to one of the security guards outside.

Just then, two hefty guards rushed into the building and attempted to lift the man off the chair.

“Jax calm down” he chuckled and my jaw dropped at the mention of my name.

How does he know my name? How does he know me? Has he met me from somewhere?

“Wait wait!” I yelled at the guards making them release their hold on the man.

“And how do you know my name?”

He smiled and walked up to me majestically. “I know you so well Jax but it’s unfortunate you don’t know who I am”

“Oh let me guess, you read the name on my tag right? Please leave this is the last warning, I’m not in the mood for jokes and chit chats” I turned again to go back to work.

“Your mum is a single mother, your father left you when your mum was pregnant, you were an Uber driver but now you’re a bar tender” he dug his hands in his pocket crossed the distance between us.

Once again, I was astounded to hear him describe me so well, that means he didn’t just read my name off the tag on my pocket, he personally knows me from somewhere and I need to find out how. I was still in so much shock.

“Who are you? How do you know so much about me? I’ve never met you before” I questioned in curiosity.

He reached out to his back pocket, retrieved an identity card and handed it over to me.

I went through it and discovered that he was a detective, I was still very much perplexed and puzzled at whatever was going on.

“As you can see in the ID card, I’m a private investigator and I’ve been on your case for a while now, I’ve been watching your moves and your day to day affairs” he exclaimed.

“You were investigating on me? Why? What do you want from me?” I questioned.

“You are a very special person but you aren’t aware of it”

“Go straight to the point man! What the fuck do you want from me?” on loosing my temper I shot him an icy glare.

I folded my hands and my expression darkened, I find that quite irritating that someone was secretly invading on my privacy. What was his reason for constantly investigating on me?

“Jax calm down, I’m not here to fight or harm you, my reason of coming here was to spill the beans, I have very important information to tell you and I know you will find it interesting”

“And what’s that?” I shrugged my shoulders at him, not the bit interested in what ever he wanted to tell me.

The man gave me an uncanny smile. “I know who your father is” he stated out of the blue.
