Hello! Mr. Billionaire

Chapter 68

DAY TWO

Worker’s Day Off ~ DAY TWO

Last night, I sent Zane a long text expressing how I really felt about this relationship and I didn’t expect him to receive the message anytime soon because neither did he reply my previous ones.

But, I received a response from him the following morning.

Thus;

“I’m sorry. Rita, I need you to understand that this has to do with the Netherlands business task I informed you about the other day. I will be absent even more often”

I heaved a deep sigh, Zane has gone AWOL again.

“Okay, take your time” I didn’t mean it though but what more can I say.

Today is another lonely and boring day I guess…

“I guess not” I hissed and brighten up my mood.

I walked towards my closet and changed into a pretty outfit, brushed and styled my hair and applied really light make up.Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.

I didn’t look like what I was going through, I looked beautiful.

“Happiness is free after all and self love first they say isn’t it? Ugh!!”

I admired myself in the mirror and set to go out and have fun.

“This is why it’s better to have two boyfriends, so once one’s gone, there’ll be another one you can fall back on” The misleading voice in my head adviced.

“Get away you!” I rebuked the idea but Finn name suddenly popped into my mind. The misleading voice had only mentioned a second boyfriend and the only person I could think of was Finn.

Probably because Finn’s another guy I have unsure feelings for although I’ve lied to myself severally that there’s no such thing.

I settled into my seat when I arrived at the nearby restaurant. The restaurant buzzed with conversations and laughter from couples and friends enjoying each other’s company.

I couldn’t help but feel a twinge of nervous excitement because I was all alone.

I was glued to my phone while waiting for the waiter to serve my order.

Then it suddenly dawned on me that I was here to while away time and maybe forget about Zane, so I dropped my phone. Uh! Funny how a glance at my cell phone keeps reminding me of Zane perhaps because that’s our only means of communication.

Shortly after, the waiter approached my table with the chicken pie and the smoothie I ordered for.

“Woah! Cool enough to cool down my mind” I sipped from the smoothie and exhaled in relief.

“You’d said you’ld do no where” I heard Finn’s voice.

I didn’t notice he was on the next seat close to mine.

He smiled, stood up and came to join me.

“What…what are you doing here Finn?” I asked.

This restaurant was nearby my house, and it was a small cheap restaurant; so I least expected Finn to be anywhere around here.

“What are you doing here too?” He asked me the same question.

I chuckled; ” I mean …away from home and away from work” I said, looking around: “Where’s your date?”

“I came alone” He replied.

“Oh” I took a nervous bite from the chicken pie.

“You are an introvert, aren’t you?” He inquired

“I was never an introvert please, the situation I ignorantly signed up for made me one. Tomorrow I’ll be partying at Adam’s place” I stated.

Looks like Finn had just arrived, as the waiter came over to our table to serve him his order.

“The situation you ignorantly signed up for” Was the only statement he repeated after me.

“Yeah, I mean… my boyfriend never forced me to have an online relationship with him. Oops! Maybe I am such a fool” I said.

” So do you wanna go out with me?” Finn asked.

“Huh?”

“I mean I am an extrovert and so you are. We can always go out together, explore and tour down the town together” Finn said.

“No”

“Why not?”

“What do you mean why not Finn? Of course, I would love to go out with you but have you forgotten so quickly the complexities that laid between us, have you forgotten why we kept our distances few days ago?” I questioned.

“Ugh!”

“You have a girlfriend” I reminded him incase he’s forgotten.

“And you have a boyfriend too. That makes us even, let’s have some fun after all, your so called boyfriend hasn’t proposed, or has he?” I can’t believe he said that.

“What the heck are you saying Finn?” A disgust look formed on my face.

“Your girlfriend somewhere loves and trusts you so much and here you are, making advances towards another girl” I said.

“Rita, can we not just Be without you mentioning that I’ve got a girl?” He paused haven realised he was kinda raising his voice in public.

After a short silence, I responded; “We can’t ”

I expected him to get mad but a small smile tugged on his lips.

“You’re loyal and such a sweet girl, I must comprehend your faithfulness” Finn uttered.

I looked at him in a weird way wondering why he suddenly complimented me. Such a compliment.

“Thank you though” I mumbled. “Just so you know, my relationship situation is different, my man is not anywhere around me, therefore I would love to go out with you each and everytime but it can’t work.. you found yourself a girlfriend now so that will make you a cheat”

“Fine! Alright. Well you know now of the fact that I’m not over you yet no matter how hard I’ve tried” He said.

I didn’t say a word but look at him like I was giving his last statement a second thought.

However, we ate our meal in silence.

Every pulse of my heart inwardly echoed a challenging question; why and how I fell in love with Finn?

I knew deep down that we deserve such a profound connection, why then was I still resisting such feelings that have now proven inevitable.

Maybe I should allow my love life take the ead. At this point, I was less worried about Zane afterall, he has literally ghosted me with some silly excuses, while Finn occupied my mind.

I planned to dance to his tune but while we ate, he didn’t make any mention of the subject Love.

I hope he hasn’t given up on me.
