Just like what Justin said before they left; Giselle’s appearance made the guests excited. Almost all eyes were on the elegant and mysterious figure that was never far from Justin. It’s anybody’s guess who the girl who didn’t let go of the SEO owner’s hand was.
“You are so stunning, Miss Giselle. How do you feel about attending a party like this?” one of the reporters asked before they entered the banquet area.
Giselle just smiled as she said. “I’m sure the same impression you have is an apt description of this grand banquet. Isn’t it?”
The reporter chuckled. “I heard you received a contract with another fashion brand? Doesn’t it matter that you’re one of SEO’s top models?”
Giselle’s eyes stared fixedly at the questioner before she finally giggled. “Do I have to answer? If I say I’m happy to get the contract, won’t I make my boss smile? Or is it actually my boss who has arranged all this so that even famous designers continue to show off their skills?”
I knew it was a joke, especially since the moment Giselle said it, the owner of the brand she was talking about arrived. It was a small reunion but full of business. Giselle knew that, and Justin wasn’t going to waste the opportunity.
Following the direction of the designated staff, they walked the red carpet together. If Giselle remembered correctly, this was just an ordinary dinner. But it was common knowledge that the Ambassador’s invitation was quite a big deal and was only attended by a select group of people. But the news reached all corners as if the party was made to show the social status of some circles in this country.
Several camera flashes were directed at Giselle. The model’s waving hand and faint smile continue to be directed at news seekers. Justin once said that if he appeared later, it would definitely attract a lot of attention. And sure enough, almost everyone surrounded Giselle including asking a lot of questions.
“Is it like this every year when the Ambassador throws a party?” asked Giselle as they entered the lobby area. There were no more members of the media. They were only allowed to wait until the front lobby area, where the banquet itself was as private as possible. Even so, Giselle would not believe it. There were definitely sharp eyes watching their movements in there. If it was interesting, it would be made into a headline that would appear the next day.
“I see.” Justin grinned. “There’s good and bad in parties like this.” He returned the friendly greeting that came to him from another corner. One of the wives of an official in the country was a regular at the boutique.
“I didn’t expect you to be so beautiful in this mustard blouse.” Justin received a warm hug from the middle-aged lung woman who smiled broadly at him.
But only for a moment. The bright face turned scowling as if the compliment had made the joy evaporate. “You! Can you not praise me too much?”
Justin laughed. “Am I wrong? You are beautiful, Mrs. Danisa. You must agree with me, right, Mr. Marvel?”
The man who had been watching the interaction between Justin and his wife could only shake his head in wonder. “Maybe we shouldn’t compliment women. She thinks we never take them seriously.”
The more so, the more Justin laughed. “I agree with that.” Not wanting to make Giselle just a display at his side, he slightly pulled her hand closer. “I guess Madam and Sir are familiar with SEO’s flagship model? It would be more pleasant for me if Giselle greeted you first.”
Politely, Giselle introduced herself. She also occasionally answered any questions from the middle-aged woman who was indeed beautiful in a blouse designed by Justin.
“I thought she was your girlfriend, Justin.”
The insinuated one just laughed. “I still want to keep going and with Giselle, I’m sure I can achieve it together. For that one thing, I haven’t thought about it at all.”
This time Marvel spoke up. “Togetherness can lead to love, Justin. You should understand that.”
“Love comes from habit, doesn’t it?” Justin responded with a big smile. “I still have a lot to accomplish, Mr. Marvel. Love can be put aside first.”
“You’re a man of passion and I like that.” Danisa laughed cheerfully. “I can’t wait for the day you introduce your lover to you, can I, darling?”
Marvel nodded immediately. They walked hand in hand to the banquet area where most of the guests were familiar to Justin. Also Giselle who was beginning to understand her position there. Besides being a rising model, she also had more influence to do some things including promotion. Many people in the business world, whether small or large, wanted Giselle’s name. They believe that Giselle must have a big name in the future considering the girl’s level of popularity is increasing day by day.
“Never get away from me, Giselle,” Justin whispered as the two men walked away. It also looked like they were meeting some of his acquaintances that Justin couldn’t possibly follow.
“Yes,” Giselle said quietly.
“Because apparently, I need to talk to Andrew in front of you.” Justin took a definite step toward the figure that seemed to be pointing at him. At the same time, the man was with the woman who made Giselle clench her fists tightly.
Jilly was there with Andrew, walking up to them with an artificially friendly face-Jilly especially. She looked so proud of her accomplishment of being able to attend an event like this. If it wasn’t for Andrew’s invitation, surely she could only fantasize about being part of this party.
“I didn’t expect you to come tonight,” Andrew said as he held out his hand for Giselle to greet him. He was looking forward to it. At least having a glass of wine around the… er, balcony of this building was quite pleasant. It’s quiet and there’s nothing to disturb.
Unfortunately, that was just wishful thinking. Giselle smiled slightly, implying a rejection. Also the words of the man beside Giselle.
“I guess the owner of The Collage wants an exclusive on my modeling? Is that right, Mr. Andrew?”
Andrew chuckled. He immediately withdrew his hand, which received no response from Giselle. Instead, he felt that Jilly was clutching his hand even tighter. Tsk! This woman. As he had said many times, he was here out of gratitude for the many things Jilly had said about Giselle.
The rest? Andrew doesn’t need her anymore. Unfortunately, it’s not that easy to get away from Jilly.
“There’s a lot of talk about Giselle with all the things she’s accomplished now.” Andrew gave Justin a sharp look. The smile that had been on the corner of his lips was replaced with a sly grin. “What about the news about Giselle in the past?”
The words immediately made Giselle look wide-eyed in disbelief. Despite the mask that partially covered her face, it must have been obvious that she was shocked. Her eyes immediately looked at Andrew with emotion. “You-”Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
Justin immediately held back what Giselle wanted to say. With such a tight grip on his hand, he was sure that Giselle wouldn’t continue. Facing Andrew and the woman who now looked excited because of what Andrew had just said, made Justin feel sick.
“Long time no see, Mr. Justin,” Jilly said, breaking the tense atmosphere between them. ah, no. not breaking, but sharpening to make this pleasant conversation even more tense. she could take advantage of many situations related to things that could not be easily removed from Giselle. That was who she was.
An entertainer who sometimes accepts wealthy guests for money.
Ah… it seems like it could be made into a very shocking head line news.
“I don’t think it’s long enough for us to meet again, Jilly.” Justin smiled widely. He glanced at the clock in his hand. “You’ve had quite a night here. How’s your club doing?”
Jilly chuckled. “You want to visit? I’ll make sure you get a replacement girl that’s more than this.” her eyes glanced at Giselle who seemed to be growling under her breath. “Remembering the past, Nami? Wearing a mask and looking like this?” hence also, Jilly laughed. She had to cover her mouth so as not to draw too much attention from others.
“I have good news for you, Mr. Andrew,” Justin said with unnerving calm. “If this news gets out to the other side, I think you’ll have a hard time dealing with it.”
Andrew, who once felt like he had the upper hand, began to show caution.
“Are you sure your club is okay?” asked Justin with a sly grin. “Um… I don’t think so-”
The ringing of the cell phone from Jilly’s bag startled her, and she quickly reached for her phone where the name of the confidant who ran her club appeared on the screen. Normally, if it wasn’t important, Michael wouldn’t call her.
“What’s wrong?” asked Jilly matter-of-factly.
“Boss, there was a raid on the club! Many are being temporarily detained in a special room! How can that be? Didn’t you give them their monthly rations?”
Jilly’s wide-eyed look almost jumped out of place.
“There are reporters too, most of them asking for your whereabouts. I think you have to be careful wherever you are.”
Seeing the look on Jilly’s face, Justin smiled with satisfaction. He then set his sights on Andrew.
“What… should I say clearly, Mr. Andrew? If you’re being talked about by the public as a man close to the club owner?”
Andrew returned the stare no less defiantly.
“The club owner who is dealing with the law because of today’s raid. Never deny it, Miss Jilly Adams’ club is a place for international drug dealing. Um… what kind of news will it be tomorrow?”
