Old Mrs. Mason’s face darkened. She’d originally planned to use her knowledge of secrets as a bargaining chip, in exchange for a chance to live. However, the cowardly Pierce Porter had blurted out everything, even more than she knew. Her remaining chips were diminishing, no longer enough to save her life. Death seemed near.

So, she glared at Pierce Porter, wanting to strangle him. Grinding her teeth, she admitted, “Yes! I did it! I wanted Williams Mason to die!”

“All of you in the Mason family deserve to die!”

Old Mrs. Mason turned her gaze to Sean, and as their eyes met, a resentful and venomous look filled the space between her brows.
