Chapter 706
Edgar rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on. “Fine. If that’s what it takes, I’ll accept the loan.” Chace sneered inwardly but kept his face neutral.
“Sir, the loan has strings attached.”
“What? Unbelievable!”
“There’s always a catch.”
“What’s the condition?”
“It’s a personal loan from Tracy. He wants to make peace with you. In exchange for the loan, you can’t go after Oscar anymore. Also, the interest rate will be higher than what we’d get from a bank. If you agree with these, he will lend you the money. If not…”
Edgar didn’t finish his words, believing Edgar had gotten the picture.
Tracy was eager to end the feud between them, probably realizing that the Odom family wasn’t easy to deal with. He was willing to meet Edgar halfway.
“Well, Tracy knows how to pick his battles. If the interest rate is a little higher, so be it. We’ll bounce back quickly once we get things moving again.”
Chace stifled a laugh at Edgar’s misplaced confidence. “You’re absolutely right, sir.”
Edgar waved his hand dismissively. “Alright, you can go take care of the paperwork. Since it’s a personal loan, we’ll keep it off the company books.”
“Understood.”
Chace got up to leave, but Edgar stopped him.
“Wait.”
“Anything else, sir?”
“Transfer some money to me. It will be reimbursed at the end of the month.”
Chace raised an eyebrow. The company was practically out of money, and yet Edgar still had the nerve to ask for money.
But despite his reluctance, Chace made the transfer.
Edgar stood up and walked over to the cashier, where the same waitress was standing.
“Check.”
“That’ll be 68 dollars.” C0ntent © 2024 (N/ô)velDrama.Org.
Edgar paid her 680 dollars and shot her a disdainful look, as if silently telling her to watch who she was judging next time.
Meanwhile, in her office, Debra smiled as she reviewed the files on her computer. “Chace is quite efficient.”
Ben glanced over, curious. “It’s a ten–billion loan with high interest rates, and Edgar has to pay us back every month. Isn’t he good at math?”
Debra rested her chin in her hand. “I doubt he cares enough to do the math. He’s too used to leaving everything to Chace. Now, with Chace on our side, Edgar’s going to fall even faster.”
She could already picture Edgar’s face when he saw the interest bill next month.
