Chapter 120
"Jack, get him out of here!" Arthur ordered. Sitting on the edge of the sofa with his long legs crossed, he adjusted his glasses with his slender fingers. His eyes, partially obscured by the lenses, held a trace of a smile but were mostly cold and indifferent. He appeared to be refined and gentle, but in reality, he was strong and harsh.
Jack said loudly, "Yes, sir!" He waved his hand, and the bodyguards immediately rushed in and surrounded Darren.
Darren glanced around with a faint smile, loosened his tie, lowered his head, and began to roll up his sleeves. Soon, his strong, tanned arms were revealed, their defined muscles showing great strength and power.
He stretched out his hand, gesturing provocatively. "All of you come at once. It'll save some time."
Arthur snorted and snapped his fingers. "Go!"
The six bodyguards charged at him, and soon, a fierce fight broke out.
From a young age, Darren had received an elite education, and combat skills were a mandatory part of his training.
Not only was he skilled in combat, but he was also exceptionally proficient. He fully understood the principle of defeating each opponent with a single, decisive strike, when outnumbered. His attacks were merciless; nearly every punch landed with precision and force, ensuring that those he brought down stayed down.
The servants in the villa were clearly well-trained.
Even in the face of such a fierce fight, they remained unfazed.
Even Rafael in the nanny's arms didn't show a hint of fear. Instead, he widened his eyes in curiosity, clapped his tiny hands in excitement, and occasionally let out strange giggles, as if cheering everyone on.
Darren glanced at him and became even more relentless.
In less than ten minutes, only he was left standing. He wiped the sweat from his forehead with a careless swipe and asked in a deep voice, "Want to continue?"
Arthur squinted at him, thinking, 'He is too strong. When Natalie dragged him back five years ago, he was nothing but a wreck. Unexpectedly, five years later, not only has he recovered well, but his skills have also become top-notch. Yet, he is still as annoying as ever.' "What exactly do you want?" Arthur sneered. "If you're thinking of getting back with Natalie, I advise you to give up. I know my sister best-once she makes up her mind, she doesn't change it easily." Darren paused briefly before resuming his walk toward Rafael.
Arthur, already unwilling to let Darren get close to Natalie, was even more displeased at the sight of him approaching Rafael. He frowned in annoyance and said,
"The child is already five months old, and this is the first time you, his father, have come to see him. He is shy around strangers now. Since he has never seen you, he won't let you hold him."
"Mr. Xavier, haven't you heard of the saying that 'blood is thicker than water'?" Darren glanced at Arthur indifferently. "My son and I have a deep connection; it's the bond of blood."
As he spoke, he extended his arms toward Rafael, indicating that he wanted to hold him.
But Rafael, who was giggling a moment ago, suddenly burst into tears.
Arthur coldly walked over, pushing Darren aside, and took the baby into his arms. He gave another cold order for Darren to leave, "Mr. Luther, haven't you realized that you're despised by everyone here? Aren't you leaving?"This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.
Darren never expected that not only would his wife give him the cold shoulder, but even his newborn son wouldn't cooperate. Nevertheless, he wasn't one to back down easily and decided to try again.
Yet, when he got close to the baby, the little one started crying again, this time even more hysterically, almost to the point of losing his breath.
The nanny nearby exclaimed in concern, "Mr. Arthur Xavier, we can't let him cry like this. What if he suffocates and passes out?"
Arthur kicked the dawdling Darren and said, "Still not leaving? You want to harm him?"
Seeing the baby cry so intensely with his eyes narrowed, Darren felt a pang of discomfort. "I'll come another day," he said, then hurried out of the villa. But just as he got into the car, his phone rang. He took it out and saw i was a video call from Vivian. He immediately rejected the call and blocked her. He thought, 'She has deceived me all these years, and I have repaid her kindness. There is no need for further contact.'
Tony, sitting in the driver's seat, asked in a low voice, "Mr.
Luther, where are we going?"
"Where did Ms. Xavier go?" Darren asked.
"Uh... I don't know," replied Tony.
Darren pursed his lips and snapped, What do I even pay you for? Can't you find out? Do I have to instruct you for every little thing?"
Tony awkwardly kept quiet, knowing it was best not to speak at times like this.
Darren took a wet wipe from the glove compartment and slowly wiped the sweat off his forehead.
Just then, he received another video call.
Annoyed, he answered, and the screen suddenly changed, showing something unidentifiable.
A round black head bobbed into view, followed by a familiar face.
However, this face had grown much tanner, making the two rows of teeth appear especially white.
His face was painted messily with some kind of pigment, and he wore a huge straw hat on his head. Seeing his strange appearance, Darren chuckled and cursed, "Damn."
Howard, hearing the long-lost voice, shouted, "My dear friend! Finally, I get to see you! I've missed you so much! You have to save me! I can't stay in this wretched place any longer!"
