Chapter 323: Never Forgive Me
Allyce was finally able to catch her breath.Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.
He tilted his head to one side and took a huge breath of air, his chest heaving violently.
Severo was no better off than she was.
A thin bead of sweat had broken out on his forehead and he stared unblinkingly at Allyce, his misty eyes clearing for a moment and then clouding again.
Once Allyce’s breathing had stabilised, he reached out to wipe the sweat from her forehead and asked gently, “What’s wrong?
Severo shook his head, apparently dizzy, and then slumped against Allyce, his head resting on her shoulder.
The two were so close together that as Allyce took a breath, she blurredly heard Severo ask her, “Does it still hurt?
The next moment, he felt Severo’s hand on his abdomen.
Allyce’s whole body stiffened and, without even thinking, she reached out and pushed Severo with all her might.
“Bang!”
He ended up pushing Severo too hard and pushed her straight to the ground.
He sat trembling on the bed, staring at Severo, who had fallen to the floor, unable to speak.
Severo’s head hit the ground hard.
After a brief moment of dizziness, he rubbed his head and rolled over to sit up, almost awake from his drink.
Seeing what Allyce looked like at that moment, he got up and went back to bed, rushing to hug her.
Feeling Allyce reach out to push him away, he quickly tightened his arms and hugged her tighter, doubling his voice again, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry …”
Allyce sniffed and suddenly became violent, grabbing and hitting Severo, crying and shouting, “Let go of me! Let go of me!”
Warm tears fell on his shoulders and what little drunkenness he had left disappeared.
Severo’s voice was a little choked, but unusually firm: “No!”
Allyce cried out in a hoarse, helpless and fragile voice: “Why did you bring this up …”.
“It’s my fault, it’s all my fault …”
Severo repeated these words over and over again.
Allyce got tired of crying before she stopped.
Severo wiped the tears from his face with a strong look of sadness in his eyes.
He felt a great helplessness wash over his body and his words of apology paled, but nothing he could do could undo it.
Allyce calmed down and gently pushed him away, saying in a weak voice: “It’s over, let’s not talk about it anymore, OK?
She thought Severo was sincere with her.
But about the baby …
He had thought of questioning Severo, asking him how he could be so cruel and why he didn’t believe him, but the words came to his lips and he lost his nerve.
“Don’t do that …”
How could Severo not know that the more he said that, the more it meant he cared about the incident.
“It was my fault, at the time if I hadn’t left you there alone, if I had taken you with me, it wouldn’t have been like this, it was all my fault …”
He had never hated himself so much and never regretted it so much.
Allyce looked at Severo’s pained face in silence, feeling heartbroken and a little hurt at the same time.
In the end, she hated herself as much as she hated Severo.
It was as if the pain she was the only one suffering was now shared by someone else, and the sadness in her heart, on the other hand, was somewhat lessened.
“You hit me, I’m the bastard!”
Severo stared her in the face and suddenly grabbed her hand and slapped her hard across the face, and then slapped her face a couple of times more.
Allyce froze.
Izar had said he didn’t trust her and that was why he hadn’t taken her with him.
So she should have known all along that her baby was dead, but why now all of a sudden?
“You know what? Two years ago, I came back to the village and I heard you talking to your grandfather on the phone about me being an unfaithful woman. But even then, when the news came out that you and Izar were getting married, I tried to go with you because I didn’t believe you would marry her, I believed you were faithful to me, but Izar said you didn’t believe Enzo and I were innocent and you didn’t believe me …”
Allyce’s mood calmed inexplicably, but the tears continued to fall silently.
He looked at Severo, whose face was tense, curved his lips and continued: “At that moment I didn’t want to believe Itzal, but there were no holes in his words and I couldn’t even try to find an excuse to convince myself …”
Allyce’s voice was a little muffled from crying for so long, and her voice was so thin and small that it didn’t sound at all hurtful.
But Severo felt that her words were like a heavy hammer, each word hitting him hard in the heart.
Severo pressed his lips together tightly, his face tense and white.
Although he didn’t know exactly what Izar had said, he could guess that he must have said the harshest things and that was why Allyce had left without hesitation, without a second thought.
And he had foolishly thought that she was only angry about her engagement to Izar and that was why she had refused to return.
He thought it was not so serious.
After the words were out of her mouth, Allyce took a deep breath and said, “I didn’t think I could talk to you about these things in peace earlier.
Severo was surprised by the lightness of his tone.
He held her in his arms: “Don’t ever forgive me”.
Never forgive him and let him spend the rest of his life making amends for his mistakes.
Allyce reached out and patted her on the back, “Don’t be ridiculous, it’s all in the past, the baby will be born again. It’s just that I’ve been careless, next time you’ll have to keep an eye on me and you won’t be able to doubt me.
Don’t let her have a baby and not know it.
Severo said dryly, “I didn’t suspect you, I just didn’t know you were pregnant, and I never suspected that you and Enzo weren’t innocent of each other”.
He was a condescending man, and these were things he would never have said before, because he always thought it didn’t matter whether he said them or not.
But little did he know that one day, those unspoken words would tear them apart, painfully, and they would almost be lost.
There was a tinge of surprise in Allyce’s voice: “How could you not know, when you obviously had me examined by the GP …”.
Severo’s throat was a bit scratchy and it was difficult for him to speak in general. “The family doctor and Izar have a close relationship …, so there was nothing special about the test results he showed me”.
Suddenly, Allyce didn’t know whether to cry or laugh.
She reached out and pushed Severo away, asking again uncertainly, “So you never knew I was pregnant?
Because he agreed to let the grandfather live in the house, Izar had the opportunity to set a trap for him.
