Chapter 318: I have known her for almost seventeen years
Izar was on the verge of collapse.
Any other pretence or mask had fallen at this point.
“I beg you, Severo, don’t do this to me, I know I’m wrong, for the sake of all the years we’ve known each other, don’t give me to grandpa, he’ll kill me …”
Izar no longer cared about his image, he fell to his knees in front of Severus and begged him.
Severo just looked at her with cold eyes, the words coming out of his mouth were ruthless and cold: “You yourself know the consequences of what happened, but you did it anyway, you were so determined to die that nobody could save you…”.
With that, he pushed Izar’s grip on him away and stood up.
Could no one have saved her?
Severo’s words meant that, even if Tajo let her go, there was no way Severo would let her go himself.
“No, please, for all the years that we have known each other …” Izar, by now, really knew fear.
It wasn’t that I hadn’t thought about what would happen when it all broke down.
But there was a casualness in everyone’s bones.
And she had thought she had done it all smoothly, without even thinking about what would happen if all was revealed.
A flash of sarcasm crossed Severo’s face: “Have we known each other for years? I think I have to tell you that I’ve known Allyce longer than I’ve known you, I’ve known her for almost seventeen years”.
With that, he turned on his heel and walked out without hesitation.
Izar called out to him in a shrill voice, with a hysterical note in his voice: “Severo!
He didn’t even listen to what he said, he knew hell was waiting for him next.
Seeing Severo leave, Izar’s last hope vanished.
Xabat soon joined the men.
Xabat approached her and looked at her with no hint of pity in his eyes and his tone was the same as always: “Miss Bermudes, it’s time to go.
Izar sat on the floor, his face streaked with tears, his make-up, which he had carefully applied to meet Severo, a mess, and his hair, which he had carefully cared for, a mess.
She was sitting on the floor, in a trance, as if she had been shaken out of her trance, without moving.
Xabat’s face showed no impatience, but he merely said faintly: “Miss Bermudes, if you get up now, you can still keep your last decency.
Then Izar came to his senses, looked at Xabat and got up from the floor: “Can you give me one more minute?
Xabat replied: “I’m sorry”.
…
Since Kimdis, Severo did not go to the office either.
He addressed Moon Culture Media directly.
As she passed a flower shop, she couldn’t help but stop and go inside.
“Welcome!”
The shop assistant couldn’t help but open his mouth wide in surprise when he saw that it was Severo.
The clerk greeted him and, although he had repeatedly told himself mentally to be calm and collected, he could not help but stammer as he spoke, “Mr. Betances are … buying flowers?”
“Hmm.” Severo replied, his eyes travelling over the flowers.
He thought of the first time he had bought flowers for Allyce, a rose.
However, the memory of that time was not a good one.
She walked past the roses and looked down before remembering that she didn’t seem to know which flowers Allyce liked.
He turned to the shop assistant who was carefully following him from behind and asked her: “What kind of flowers do you women like?
The shop assistant was stunned for a moment and was quick to point to a bunch of roses and say: “Roses …”.
Severo raised an eyebrow and said nothing.
The shop assistant hastened to explain: “Although it is corny to give roses, it is the flower that symbolises love, everyone will buy it to give to the person they love, and women will generally feel happy when they receive roses”.Nôvel/Dr(a)ma.Org - Content owner.
Severo sniffed and was silent for a moment, as if thinking over his words, then spoke, “This one then.”
When the flowers were wrapped, the shop assistant couldn’t help whispering: “Is it for your wife?
“Thank you.
Severo hugged the flower box and headed for the exit.
Halfway through, he looked back at the shop assistant with a faint hint of uncertainty in his eyes.
“Do you think my wife will like it?”
A few shop assistants were gathered for a secret photo session, not expecting Severo to turn around suddenly, and nodded eagerly: “His wife will love it!
Severo smiled, said nothing more, turned and walked out.
Only when Severo was gone did the girls gather around and whisper: “He’s even more handsome in person than on TV!
“Excellent!”
“That’s for sure, but he seems to like his wife a lot, as if he’s worried that she won’t like the flowers he sends her ….”
“If it were me, I’d even love it if you took a melon rind and gave it to me as a gift!”
…
Allyce left the meeting and noticed that the staff passing by were looking at her strangely.
She made her way to her office door just in time to meet Esther, who approached her, just after the meeting.
Allyce asked him: “What’s wrong?
Ester smiled a little: “You’ll see if you go in.
Allyce heard the smile in his voice, so she said nothing, pushed open the door and went inside.
As a result, as soon as he entered, he saw Severo sitting behind his desk.
“Severo?”
Allyce called out to him in surprise and approached him: “What brings you here?
“I have come to see you.
As Severo spoke, Allyce had already approached him and he reached out and pulled Allyce into his arms, making her sit on his lap.
Allyce was a little embarrassed.
He reached out his hand and pushed Severo: “Don’t you have to go to the office? You shouldn’t spend so much time at Cloud Cit, you must have a lot of things to attend to”.
Severo’s arm around her loosened slightly and he said in a light voice: “There’s no point in going to the office.
Allyce was surprised, what did he mean by that?
Severo’s look reminded him of the schoolboy who didn’t want to go to school.
He didn’t even want to go to the office because he didn’t see the point?
Forget it, he was the owner of the company, he could do what he wanted, but she had a lot of work to do.
“Yes.
Severo replied and helped her to her feet, pushing her to sit down once he had left.
Allyce had just sat down when she felt something hard on the back of her chair.
He turned his head to see that it was a long, delicate flower box.
Through the clear plastic moulding of the wrapper, he could see the deep red roses inside.
A flash of surprise crossed Allyce’s face and she looked up at him: “You bought them?
“Do you like it?”
Severo took it, removed the lid of the flower box and handed it to him with an expectant look on his face.
Allyce froze and said, “I like it, thank you”.
