Chapter 281: This is our home
Allyce’s nerves were numb from the alcohol and her consciousness was unclear at the time.
Stunned, she went back two years to the day she had woken up from the hospital.
The nurse told her that the baby was missing.
“No. …”
Severo’s face tightened and he sat back down hurriedly, watching Allyce’s gaze and calling softly, “Allyce?”
“Child …”
Allyce’s delicate face was written with pain as she muttered something under her breath, her brow furrowed in a painful frown.Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.
Severo reached out to smooth her brow, only for his own to crease again.
He moved closer to her to cradle her gently in his arms and leaned in to hear what she had said, but she stopped talking and only stopped when he gently patted her back with his large palm.
After a while, he heard her even breathing.
Knowing she was asleep, he put her down.
What was it that caused him so much pain?
Beef’s “groan” sounded outside the door.
Severo went to the door and opened it.
Bending down, he stroked Beef’s head and whispered, “Be good, she’s asleep, come down”.
As if he understood, Beef turned around, wiggled his ass and went downstairs.
…
Allyce woke up feeling like her head was going to explode with pain.
He turned around and sat up, looking down at his pyjama top which looked somewhat familiar on his body.
But it was definitely not something she had changed herself!
He hurried out of bed and, without turning his head, saw a cartoon.
Severo had drawn it two years ago.
Severo had used the best materials when he painted it, so it did not look faded at all.
In the midst of his daze, the door to his room creaked open from outside.
“Come down for breakfast when you are awake”.
Severo was wearing a suit and his gaze flickered as he touched the swept neckline of her nightgown and her slightly wobbly front.
The baggy pyjamas could not hide the well-developed figure of an adult woman.
Allyce noticed Severo’s stare and turned her back quickly, her voice surprisingly cold: “Who are you to bring me into your house!”
“This is our home.
Severo blurted out these words and, without further ado, turned and went down the stairs.
Allyce heard the door close and stamped her foot in hatred.
Looking in the direction of the door, a flash of disgust crossed his eyes.
…
His clothes from yesterday could no longer be worn.
He wondered how Severo and Izar would have got along over the years.
There was a moment of stunned silence when he saw that those clothes of his were still hanging intact in the wardrobe.
He pulled out a set of clothes and put them on, finding them a little looser.
No wonder Desiderio said he had lost a lot of weight in the last two years.
He walked down the stairs, glanced into the dining room and lifted his feet towards the front door.
I didn’t want to have breakfast with him.
What was he saying and what did she have to listen to?
It wasn’t as if she was God!
But when Allyce reached the front door and found Severo waiting there, his face darkened.
A hint of distrust appeared on her face and she was ready to push Severo and leave.
And to her surprise, Severo didn’t stop her, but opened his mouth and said something that Allyce couldn’t understand.
“Remember what you said last night when you were drunk?”
Allyce’s face paled.
She remembered a previous occasion in Ciudad del Cielo when she had woken up the next day drunk and Desiderio had insisted on taking her out for a walk.
She later realised that Desiderio had taken her out because he had heard her talking about her children when she was drunk.
But the baby was always on her mind.
Allyce shivers at the thought of her drunken mention of the baby the night before.
At that time, Severo had not believed that the child was his …
Allyce laughed: “Who remembers the nonsense when they are drunk, but you, what are you so serious about?
A glint of hatred flashed in Allyce’s eyes, only to fade quickly.
But Severo noticed it anyway.
He did not stop Allyce again.
He had simply asked a casual question, but had not expected such a reaction from Allyce.
There seemed to be something wrong in the middle.
Severo looked in the direction in which Allyce had gone and took out his mobile phone to call Xabat: “Go back over the events of that year”.
What was it that was lost then?
…
Allyce walked a good distance before catching a taxi.
Before getting in, she looked back to make sure Severo wasn’t following her before getting into the car.
He gave the address of his flat and leaned against the car window with his head cocked to one side.
After an unknown amount of time, the car stopped.
“Here you are, Miss!”
The driver kindly reminded him, only to turn his head and find the pretty young passenger already crying.
The driver sighed and handed her two papers: “Miss, don’t be so sad, those rich kids, none of them are sincere, you are so young and pretty, you are looking for a date, being rich and powerful is not so important, the key is to love people”.
As Allyce came from the Bay in the Cloud, the people who lived there were all rich and powerful.
When the driver came back to see her crying, he thought she had been abandoned by some rich family, so he consoled her in this way.
Allyce touched her face and realised that it was already covered in tears.
He bowed his head, took the handkerchief handed to him by the driver, paid the fare, said “thank you” hurriedly and got out of the car as fast as he could.
Love?
Severo also loved her.
But I didn’t want it until the end.
Her grandfather was more important than her, and he believed in himself, not in her.
At this point, she doesn’t even have the courage to hate or accuse him.
…
Allyce went back to her flat, made herself something to eat and went to bed.
Half asleep, she received a call from Desiderio.
“Uncle.” Allyce saw that it was Desiderio on the phone and sat up with a start.
Desiderio’s voice was pleasant: “Allyce, how are things going at Cultura Lunar?
Allyce smiled, “Everything’s fine, I’ve got things under control here, don’t worry about me, did you get the results of the medical check-up they sent you for last time?”
After two years of living with Desiderio, he helped her so much that even the coldest-hearted person would be impressed.
“Understood, I’ll come back later”.
Desiderio said and fell silent.
Allyce pursed her lips, “I’ll take care of everything else, take care of yourself, I’ll come back to see you when I can”.
“Mmm.”
The two spoke a few more words and hung up the phone.
Far away, in Ciudad del Cielo, Desiderio hung up the phone, a calculating gleam in his eye.
Then he signalled to his men and ordered them in a deep voice: “If someone is investigating Allyce, do your best to hide it as well as you can.
“Yes. The henchman received the order and left.
