Chapter 239: More tolerable, more pretentious
“Vomit!”
Allyce threw up clutching the toilet.
Severo entered right behind her: “Allyce!
“Stay away … I still want to puke!” Allyce said quickly before she started vomiting again.
The public toilet on the ground floor was not small, but the sour smell of vomit did not dissipate so quickly once emitted.
Severo listened to her and turned to leave.
Allyce froze for a moment, a sadness welling up in her heart.
But Severo soon returned, a glass of water in his hand.
He approached Allyce, knelt down and wiped the liquid from her lips before giving her the water.
“Drink first.
Allyce had just vomited so much that tears were coming out of her eyes, and now there were still teardrops on her eyelashes.
She had thought he was really gone.
After accepting the glass of water and taking a sip, she was surprised at how much more comfortable she felt.
“Still want to puke?” Severo’s one pretty brow furrowed sharply.
Allyce shook her head breathlessly.
Severo’s face was cold as he put his hands under her armpits and lifted her whole body. “Go change, we’re going to the hospital.”
Allyce repeated: “To the hospital?
Severo became impatient and shouted at him: “Go away!
“Just go away, don’t be mean!” Allyce didn’t budge either.
Severo took a deep breath and suddenly leaned over and kissed her on the forehead, his voice softened: “Be good, go and change, we’re going to the hospital, I’m worried”.
Allyce blinked, nodded and turned to leave.
As he left the bathroom, he looked back just in time to see Severo cleaning up what he had just vomited.
A shiver ran through his heart and his eyes watered slightly.
She had never been in love, so she didn’t know how other lovers got on, but in her heart there was a certainty that, apart from her father, there was no one in the world who could treat her better than Severo.
…
When Allyce got out of her dress, Severo had already left the garage and was waiting for her.
Severo had the door open before she approached, waiting for her to get in and bent down to fasten her seatbelt.
“I’m fine, it’s probably because I ate a few ice creams yesterday and it upset my stomach. …”
Allyce’s voice breaks off as she speaks.
He had wanted Severo not to worry so much, but who knew that the moment he said that, he had revealed that he had secretly eaten ice cream behind Severo’s back.
Severo rested one hand in his lap and pressed the other against the back of the chair Allyce was sitting in to support her body.
His face was expressionless as he looked at Allyce, his eyes dark and calm, his voice tinged with coldness: “How much ice cream have you had?
Allyce looked over his head, not daring to look him in the eye, and compared two fingers.
Severo’s voice sank even deeper, increasing in volume, “How many ice creams have you eaten?”
“Five, five …” Allyce held out a hand, eyes darting from side to side.
She didn’t want to eat so much either, she had eaten so much while she was idle at home with nothing to do, watching TV and going through … the web.
“Five?” repeated Severo.
Allyce cringed and whispered in her own defence: “And Beef ate, too.
“Beef has a weak stomach, how much did you give him? Severo’s movements remained the same, his tone more sombre.
“He ate just a little. Actually it was only a small spoonful, and he remembered that Beef’s gut was weak.
“Humph!”
Severo grunted and straightened up, starting the car as she said, “No more ice cream in the house, and no more spicy food on the table.
“…” Allyce was tempted to resist, but didn’t dare speak.
…
When we arrived at the hospital, we checked in and queued up for the tests.
Allyce had just stepped on the front foot when Severo’s phone rang.
When he looked at the caller ID, it was Izar.
Severo frowned and picked it up: “Is something wrong?
Allyce had left because the doctor had said he had to send an impromptu email of some kind and asked Allyce to wait.
Seeing that Severo was answering the phone, he didn’t bother and was about to go back inside when he heard Severo say: “Izar, that’s not possible”.
Izar?
Hearing those three words made Allyce’s heart clench.
Although Severo had made it clear that he had no interest in Izar, Allyce remained suspicious of Izar.
It always seemed to him that Izar was not someone who was so easily carried away, not to mention that he could hold back and pretend better than Senona.
“OK, I’ve got it, I’m on my way”.
Seeing that Severo was about to hang up, Allyce turned around and hurried inside.
“Allyce it’s, your turn.” The doctor was finishing his email.
“Yes.
Allyce replied absently.
He responded mechanically to everything the doctor asked him to do.
“Go ahead and run the routine tests and come back to see me when you’re done. The doctor said to Allyce as he wrote the order.
“All right, thank you doctor.
Allyce left with a stack of doctor’s checklists and never saw Severo again.
He remembered what Severo had just said on the phone: “I’ll be right there”.
What was so important that he left without saying anything?
Allyce reached for her phone, debating whether to call Severo, when she saw Gabrio walking towards her.
“Allyce,” Gabrio’s voice came before he approached, and he was not surprised to see her here, obviously looking for her.
“Gabrio, what brings you here?”
“Mr. Betances sent me, he said I had to go out first for something. Gabrio looked at Allyce’s face, thought for a moment and said, “He didn’t tell you?
“It was probably something very important. Allyce smiled indifferently.
But the loss in his eyes could not be hidden no matter how hard he tried.
If it had been something else, Allyce wouldn’t have cared so much, but it was something important to Izar ….
It was so important that I couldn’t wait to leave without telling him.All content is © N0velDrama.Org.
Allyce’s heart felt like it was getting stuck.
Gabrio’s eyes fell on the stack of checklists in Allyce’s hand and he walked over to them, “How about a medical check-up? I’ll go with you.
“No, it’s just an upset stomach from eating too much ice cream yesterday, no need for an examination”.
Allyce shook her head and threw the list in her hand into the bin.
He remembered that Severo had been very critical of Gabrio earlier, and had not expected him to go to Izar on his own and bring Gabrio.
“What are you doing!” Gabrio’s face grew a little angry as he realised that he had actually thrown away all his orders.
“There’s a queue, it’s a waste of time, just prescribe me some medicine”. Allyce saw that Gabrio was annoyed and put on a smile.
