Chapter 3
ERICA’S POV
“What do you mean, you can’t come?” Max asked, agitated.
I shrugged my shoulders. “I don’t have a dress plus I am ugly.”
“You’re not ugly, Erica.” He stated.
I rolled my eyes. He’s such a good liar. Off course he knows that I am nothing compared to all the women he had dated before. I mean I am ugly that’s the most truest fact anyone could ever say. And honestly I am okay with being ugly.NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.
“Let’s go shopping then.” He smiled, reveling his perfectly white teeth.
“Look-”
“You’re going to be my bride. That’s the least I can do for you.” He said his sentence while cutting me in middle.
I didn’t feel like arguing him. I mean he will force me to come anyways. Why should I waste my engery.
We reached the shop and my eyes, damn my eyes. The shop was like a huge mansion, so fucking big and it even smells costlier than my whole life. I mean, this is some kind of dream, right? I’ve never seen such an amazing shop ever in my life and so what if I’ve seen it, I would’ve never been able to afford this. This place belongs to people like Cassie Fox and Max Costello not me. Definitely not for Erica white.
A girl in her twenties came to us in her neatly ironed uniform. Fuck her uniform was costlier than my own clothes. I felt embarrassed and ducked my head low. Everybody around me glared at me as if I’ve came to some wrong place where I should’ve not been.
And Max well he snuggled his arms around my waist and passed everyone a charming smile to which all eyes glued on him instead of me.
“How can I help you, sir.” The girl asked.
“Show a beautiful dress for my lady.” He smiled.
From my peripheral vision I saw the girl looking at me from tip to bottom before a smirk appeared on her face. She knows that I look pretty ugly and no dress can change it.
“Sure, this way mam.” She said, smiling.
Max unwrapped his arms around me and gestured me to go. That girl purposely told me the prices of each dress that she showed me until Max came. He deselected all the dresses and picked one red coloured gown for me. It was beautiful and fucking costly. He gave me to try it and I was in a such a shame that my fingers irked to not touch the dress otherwise I’ll ruin it luxury.
I entered trail room and after despising myself in the mirror, I wore it. Unfortunately the dress had zip closure on the back. I tried reaching it but I couldn’t. After many attempts, I gave up and decided to go out just like that.
When I came out, Max smiled looking at me. “You look beautiful!”
Yeah right!
I look beautiful? What a joke!
Rolling my eyes, I decided to change it before I heard Max’s step approaching me and that’s when I realized. Shit shit shit. The zip has been undone. I stilled at my place and was about to turn around when I felt his fingers on my neck’s flesh. Something strange happened into my abdomen like it has been burst with butterflies.
He zipped it up and amidst it, his fingers brushed against my skin which made me shiver in delight. I had goosebumps when he touched me. I felt something strange. I don’t know about him but I definitely felt something. Something stronger.
Pushing the saliva down my throat, I hurried into trail room and locked the door behind me when I heard Max’s chuckle. My uneven breathing was audible. I shook my head and tried to compose myself but all in vain.
What the fuck is wrong with me? What the fucking hell?
Why his touch mattered this much too me? This wedding is going to so difficult for me. How the fuck of all people I can lose control?
Anyways, I tried to brush away my thoughts and looked in the mirror.
The woman in reflection was in red gown. Her frizzy hair were tied up in a pony. Her face has freckles and pimples. Her skin complexion was dark. She has big nose and thin lips. Her eyes were small like a botton. She was not beautiful at all!
She was ugly.
I frowned as tears filled up in my eyelids. No matter which dress I wear, no matter how much makeup I do, I’ll always be called ugly for my looks.
Always!
