Chapter 24
Chapter 24
By the time she got back to the villa, it was almost eleven. Estelle took a shower and was cuddling with
Max on the couch while calling Magdalen to let her know she was safe. Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
She also took the opportunity to inquire about her conversation with Morrison and whether they had an
argument.
The phone kept ringing until it was almost about to hang up before someone answered. It was
Morrison’s deep voice, “She might not be able to take your call. Any message you want me to pass
on?”
Through the phone, Magdalen’s moan could be heard, sounding like she had been crying, “Morrison!”
Estelle quickly hung up.
Her cheeks flushed, she couldn’t help but clench her teeth, thinking how Magdalen couldn’t resist the
enemy’s dirty temptation!
The next afternoon, when Estelle returned from the Lamont family’s home, she received a package – a
big box filled with the jewelry and clothes that Magdalen had given her the night before.
From the box, she picked out a pair of earrings that didn’t look too flashy, planning to give them to
Emily. But when she went to the dessert shop on Monday, the other employees told her Emily had
taken leave and wasn’t at work.
On Wednesday afternoon, Estelle got a call from Henson asking her to meet up.
Estelle thought something was wrong and took a taxi to the restaurant where they had agreed to meet.
The Lamont family’s car was parked outside the restaurant, with a bodyguard in a suit standing beside
it.
Entering the restaurant, she found Henson and asked in a serious tone, “What happened?”
Henson looked relaxed, “Nothing serious, just wanted to treat you to a meal. Relax!”
Estelle looked at him suspiciously.
“Really, what do you want to eat?” Henson pushed the menu toward Estelle.
Estelle put down her bag and leaned back in her chair. “Tell me, what’s going on?”
Henson put both his hands on the table, looking serious, “My uncle doesn’t seem to be satisfied with
you and wants to fire you.”
“Oh!” Estelle breathed a sigh of relief, thinking it wasn’t as serious as she thought.
Henson was puzzled this time, “Why aren’t you worried?”
“Worried about what?” Estelle asked in return.
Frowning, Henson asked, “Don’t you want to make money to help your grandfather get treatment?”
“Of course I do, but can I change your uncle’s mind?” Estelle took a sip of water, her expression slightly
helpless.
“You can’t, but I can. I can put in a good word for you and have my uncle keep you,” Henson said.
Estelle looked at the little brat in front of her and suddenly smiled, “So you want me to help you with
something?”
Henson put on a wise tone, “Young lady, don’t be so self-interested. Can’t we help each other without
having a vested interest?”
Estelle nodded in agreement, “You’re right, I was too shallow.”

“But, Henson grinned, “I do want to ask you for a small favor.”
Estelle snorted, her expression suggesting that she had expected as much. “Go on, what is it?”
Leaning forward, Henson said quietly, Tm telling you this because I consider you as one of us”
Estelle squinted her eyes, I’m honored!”
Henson continued, “My teacher wants me to call my parents to school. Can you go for me?”
Estelle raised her eyebrows in surprise, “You didn’t do well on your exams?”
“How is that possible?” Henson sneered arrogantly, then immediately revealed a hint of guilt, “I got into
a fight with two classmates in our class!”
Frowning, Estelle looked him over, “You got into a fight with your classmates? Are you hurt?”
“No, the boxing training I’ve had with my uncle is more than enough to deal with them.”
Relieved, Estelle asked, “Why did you fight?”
“Who let them bully others?” Henson answered angrily. “They were upset because Anthony Stevens
refused to let them copy his answers during the exam. They started bugging him every day and even
pissed on his pants in the restroom today. I couldn’t stand it, so I stepped in!”
Stunned, Estelle remarked, “You’re being a hero. Is the teacher asking you to call your parents so they
can praise you?”
Henson looked at her in surprise, “Are you being serious?”
