Chapter 2359
Chapter 2359
Everyone hopped into their cars, heading out for the cultural festival in the quaint little town. The journey from the estate to the festival took about an hour, and by the time they arrived, it was nearly noon. Despite that, nobody was particularly hungry, so they decided to explore a bit first.
The town, already a tourist hotspot, was even busier than usual due to the cultural festival. It didn't take long for their group to get separated in the crowd. The festival showcased an array of heritage arts from around C City, buzzing even more with the festive New Year spirit, much like a lively county fair back home.
Sylvia spotted an embroidery display and turned to Gabriel, saying, "A friend I met before, not only could she paint, but she also did embroidery. She once gifted me a fan she embroidered herself, and it was absolutely beautiful."
Gabriel suggested, "Must be a family tradition."
Sylvia shook her head, "I never asked her about that."
Their conversations often revolved around experiences and painting, but seldom touched on personal family matters. She hadn't even asked Grace Quintin if she was married or had kids, nor had Grace inquired about her personal life. Those details didn't affect their friendship, so they seemed unimportant.
Continuing on, they came across a promotional banner for the festival, noticing a guest's name had been crossed out. Sylvia figured it must have been Grace. She left in such a hurry; Sylvia wondered if everything was resolved.
"Wow, what's that smell?" Sylvia perked up, looking around. "Where's it coming from?"
Following the tantalizing aroma with Gabriel in tow, they quickly found a small stall surrounded by a crowd, the source of the delicious scent. Curiously, Sylvia asked a woman selling handmade knit hats nearby, "Ma'am, what's being sold there?"
The woman, full of warmth, replied, "Those are fried radish cakes with seafood. They're famous around here, especially during the festival when the crowds are bigger."
"Hungry?" Gabriel asked.
Sylvia nodded, "All this walking and exploring works up an appetite."
With the same innocence as in the morning, Gabriel looked at her playful eyes, smiling resignedly, "Stay here, I'll go buy some."From NôvelDrama.Org.
"Forget it!" Sylvia grabbed his wrist, "The line's too long. It'll take forever."
"Just wait for me!" With that, Gabriel strode off towards the seafood radish cake stall.
"Your boyfriend's a keeper!" the woman beside her said with a chuckle, inviting Sylvia to take a seat.
Flattered, Sylvia browsed through the knit hats, complimenting, "Did you make these yourself?"
The woman, in her fifties and neatly dressed, returned the smile, "Yes, it's just a little skill I have. They're not much, but it's nice to earn some pocket money."
Sylvia praised, "They're beautiful!"
She chose a hat with a mix of yellow and blue, its woolen tassels adding an exotic charm as they dangled
from either side. The woman had et
Sylvia sit down, letting her hair down and tying it into two ponytails, adding a playful yet sexy look with the hat on. After picking out another hat for a girl, Sylvia paid.
Just then, a man in traditional attire approached, his gaze fixed on Sylvia in admiration, "Miss, hello!" Sylvia nodded in greeting, "Hello!"
The man, handsome with striking features, kindly said, "We're shooting for a traditional clothing promo to be featured on the festival's official site. If you're free, would you join me for a photo?"
Sylvia glanced at the matching outfits he held, politely declining, "I'm sorry, I'd have to ask my boyfriend."
"Your boyfriend?" The man looked surprised, having seen Sylvia shopping alone and assuming she was by herself. Just then, Sylvia turned to see Gabriel approaching with a box in hand, her face lighting up with a sunny smile, "Here he comes!" Content belong
