Chapter 42: Throwing A Tantrum
Chapter 42: Throwing A Tantrum
"Luz Boone, do you really like submitting yourself to another man and bearing his child?"
The words felt like a knife cutting into her. She blanched, but a sudden chill brought her back to her
senses. She looked down and found that her skirt had been torn away.
"Henry, stop it! You're just like a three-year-old throwing a tantrum!"
After that, she bit her lips lightly, waiting for his anger.
"A three-year-old child?"
Henry's deep voice sounded in her ear, and his seductive tone made Luz shiver all over. The more he
behaved like this, the more scared she was. It was worse than his anger.
"Can a three-year-old kid do this to you?"
The body pinning her to the bed trusted upwards suddenly. Luz felt something hot against her body and
paled further. Just as she was afraid that he would really take her by force, the weight on her
disappeared.
"Luz, don't provoke me."
With a hint of hostility in his cold voice, Henry snorted and turned to leave the room. "I don't use this
room anymore anyway. You can stay here."
Luz's heart ached again. She used to be happy in this room. She used to think that there would be a
man who would love her for the rest of her life. They would have a child together like every other
married couple and live their lives as a happy family of three.
However, this room that had given her illusions had also been the same room that had shattered her
life.
Reaching out to touch the pillow on the bed, she curled up and lay down, as if she could still smell the
smell of seven years ago.
The pain was still there, but there was still hope. Sadness was also a lingering smell that wouldn't
leave.
"Mommy, can I sleep with you?"
The door was pushed open again, and the little fellow stood at the door with a pillow in his arms. He
couldn't fall asleep in a strange environment. Besides, someone should give him an explanation today.
How could he have a father suddenly?
"Okay, come on up."
She immediately put on a smile and moved aside.
Logan leapt onto the bed. "Mommy, is that bad uncle really my father?"
He wasn't as nice as Uncle Declan, nor as comfortable to be with. Apart from being handsome and
rich, he really did not compare up to Uncle Declan.
"..."
Luz didn't know how to answer the question, so she kept quiet.
"Forget it, I won't ask anymore. Anyway, I don't like him." Logan pouted. He had a bad temper. He
didn't like that.
"Logan... go to sleep."
She patted him gently on the back and did not withdraw her hand until he breathed evenly.
The dim yellow wall lamp added a hazy colour to the room. Luz looked around the quiet room, which
blurred suddenly.
Eight years old, their wedding was low-key because she hadn't finished school yet. Their marriage
wasn't known to the public to avoid gossip, or so she had naively thought. In reality, Henry Maynard
had never wanted anyone to know about their marriage, which was why he had treated her so coldly in
their first three months of marriage.
"Henry, does this dress look good?"
On their 100-day anniversary, she had put on a new dress in an attempt to please him. She even asked
Declan to accompany her to pick out a style that men liked.
After returning to the villa, she carefully put on her makeup according to Mia's advice and changed into
the dress she had chosen. The almost translucent fabric made her blush. Even though she had
prepared herself for this, she was still shy.
"Henry, I specially selected this dress. Today is the 100-day anniversary of our marriage."
Her eyes were full of shyness. Without knowing about it, they had already been married for a hundred
days. Soon, they would be celebrating their first anniversary. When she thought about their subsequent
anniversaries, she was ecstatic.
She waited for a very long time with her head lowered, but Henry stayed silent. When she lifted her
head again, she saw Henry's cold eyes.
"Henry..."
"Do you think this is a beautiful dress in a man's eyes?"
He lifted the hem of her skirt with his slender fingers. The sudden chill on her thighs made her shudder
a little as she blushed. Declan had said that this dress suited her. It blended her naivety and flirtatious
nature perfectly.
"Don't... don't you like it?"
She tried to suppress her beating heart while she mumbled. She liked this dress.
"It seems that you don't know what style I like. Well, let me tell you what I like on women."
The low, sexy but unusually cold voice made her heart rate spike. But in order to please him, she
silently waited for him to tell her what kind of clothes he liked on women so that she could do better.
However, when her skirt was torn into pieces rudely, there was only horror left in her expectant eyes.
"Henry, what are you doing?"
"Don't you want to know what style I like? Don't you want to celebrate the anniversary of 100 days with
me? Let's celebrate."
His indecipherable tone was like a knife on her skin, lashing wounds on her that hurt yet did not bleed.
She could not remember how long she had been tormented that night. All she remembered was him
working hard above her, tormenting her until she ran out of stamina and fainted.
That night, Logan was conceived.
She put her arms around Logan subconsciously. Luz's face was pale. It had been so long, but every
time the memory resurfaced, it still hurt her, like a part of her was malfunctioning.
"Mommy, he's a bad guy. I don't want him as my daddy."
The little fellow suddenly murmured in his sleep. Her fingers trembled. Henry was a bad guy.
Her throat was a little dry because of the pain in her memory. She slowly got up and opened the door
and peeked out to make sure that she would not bump into Henry before going downstairs. This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.
She had lived in this house before, so it was still familiar to her even after seven years. She found the
kitchen without much incident and was about to get some water when she heard a kind voice beside
her.
