Ex-husband's Sweet Trap

Chapter 15: I Don't Have A Husband

Chapter 15: I Don't Have A Husband

Mia was on a diet, so she couldn't eat any high-calorie food. She pulled a chair over to the side of the

bed and ate an apple while Luz and Logan had their dinner.

"What, your new company is piling so much stress on you that you had to be hospitalized?"

"No, it's not that, Aunty Mia.

Logan stuffed a piece of chicken into his mouth and said vaguely, "I was going to the underground

parking lot with Mommy and a bad guy almost hit Mommy with his car, so Mommy fainted."

Mia was at a loss for words.

Luz blushed slightly and said awkwardly, "It's just a cold. I felt better after taking some medicine, but

maybe the air in the parking lot was too stuffy, so I passed out."

"No, that bad uncle scared mommy!"

The little fellow said indignantly, his cheeks bulging with food.

"He was touching Mommy when she was sleeping! He's bad! I won't let him go so easily the next time I

see him!"

Mia was interested in this. "Really? Is he handsome?" This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.

"...He's a little more handsome than Uncle Declan, but he has a bad temper."

Logan realized something was not right after he said that. He glanced at Mia derisively. "Aunty Mia,

you're focused on the wrong thing."

"If that uncle is handsome, then your Mommy didn't lose out on anything!"

Mia laughed so hard that she was trembling. She raised her head and ruffled Logan's hair. "If he was

rich, you can consider him your new dad! Isn't that great?"

"I don't want that!" The little fellow said angrily and pushed Mia's hand away.

That man was handsome, but he was not a good person. He preferred Uncle Declan.

Luz waited for her son to finish his food before going out to deal with the discharge procedures. To her

surprise, the nurse at the window told her, "Your husband has already paid for three days of

hospitalization. I can refund the extra to you."

"Husband?"

Luz was dumbfounded and somewhat embarrassed. "I don't have a husband. Did you mistake me for

someone else?"

"No, he did pay for you. Your name is on the invoice here." The nurse was also confused as she gave

her the invoice and the refunded money. "I guess he's your friend, then. Sorry for the

misunderstanding."

Mia came over to the counter with Logan and raised her eyebrows in question. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing." Luz smiled, put the invoice and the money into her bag, and walked towards her. "Let's go."

When they got home, Logan gave Mia a kiss and then jumped out of the car.

"Luz." When Luz opened the door and was about to go out, Mia stopped her.

"You must have seen Declan's feelings towards you all these years. It's hard to find a man like him

now, so you should... think about it."

Hearing this, Luz's body stiffened. She pursed her lips and said, "Okay, I know. Be careful when you go

back."

Logan did not want Luz's help and showered by himself.

Luz heated up a glass of milk in the kitchen. When she brought it into the bedroom, her phone vibrated

on the bedside table. She picked it up and saw a message from Declan.

Declan, "I've arrived in Myanmar. I got a little jade charm for Logan. P.S. I miss you."

...

Luz stared blankly at the message for a long time before slumping down on the bed. She didn't know

how to reply.

When she came back, she had told herself that she would try to give Declan a chance.

However, even after seven years, Henry could just jump into her life and break down the defences she

had set up.

No matter how long it had been, she just couldn't forget about the man named Henry Maynard.

...

Linda had told her that Henry would be in New Zealand for three days for a meeting. Luz was relieved

about this since she wouldn't need to see him while her emotions were so jumbled. She would just

need to follow up with emails.

Luz had already picked up everything she needed to know in three days. Her efficiency surprised

Linda.

"If you're all set, I'll just report to the CEO later. I won't be here tomorrow."

"I'm all good," Luz said as she frowned at the documents in her hand. "Actually, Linda, do we have any

collaboration with Aprico Jewelry?"

Linda nodded and replied, "We have worked together before, but their models are quite fussy, and

Aprico Jewelry wasn't earning much out of the collaboration, so they broke it off. It's been about a

year."

Luz had a bad feeling at this.
