Chapter 198: Her Clothes Had to Be Taken Off

Chapter 198: Her Clothes Had to Be Taken Off

Cathy smiled and her voice sounded calm and warm, "you have a high opinion of me, Mr. Franklin. I'm just trying to keep my job."

The man shook his head helplessly. He looked down as if he were reading the plan carefully.

Cathy didn't look at him. She looked away. She compressed her lips together, not knowing what she was thinking.

After a few minutes, the man looked up. He closed the file and gave it back to her, "good plan."

Cathy came to her senses and she froze. She looked down, "no problem? If you are not satisfied with something, I can go back and ask them to modify it."

The man picked up the glass, he raised his head and drank. He said softly, "you missed some details, but it wasn't a big deal."

Cathy looked at him with a slight tilt of her head, "what do you mean?"

"I mean..."

Before the man finished speaking, a noise came from outside. It was the restaurant staff who rearranged the table for them.

The conversation was interrupted for a moment. They both sat on the mat and didn't move. But no one had expected the table to tilt in Cathy's direction as it moved toward the center. Two bottles of wine on the table trembled and fell on her.

"Look out!" James shouted suddenly.

Cathy had no time to hide, and the wine had all spilled and soaked her clothes. She could only subconsciously catch the wine bottles and then got up quickly.

Several waiters turned pale with fear, they set the table down and apologized to her in Japanese with a quick bow.

James quickly got up to check on her. His handsome face was full of care, "Cathy, are you all right?"

Cathy wiped her wine-smelling clothes with a napkin. She frowned and shook her head slowly, "I'm fine, but the wine seems to have been spilled."

"Your clothes are wet with wine. How can you still care about wine?" James looked at the wet wine stains on her coat. He frowned his pretty eyebrows. His face slowly darkened, and he looked at the waiters, "do you need me to get your boss over?"

"Sorry, we'll get the boss right away!" They didn't even dare to raise their heads. When they finished speaking, one of them ran out as fast as he could.

In the opposite cubicle, Nick and the female secretary heard the noise and they came out, too. They looked at Cathy worriedly.

"Cathy, are you all right?"

"I'm fine. The waiter just spilled some wine on my clothes." Cathy shook her head gently.

Since the bottle was a kind of Japanese wine bottle, the bottle mouth was slightly larger. There wasn't much wine in the bottle, but it did pour all over her. Two places in her dress line were almost soaked. She felt like she was out of luck. Everything bad has happened to her recently, not even having a meal.

Cathy looked at James again, "Mr. Franklin, don't be angry. I'm really fine."

"I'm sorry, I didn't expect a meal like this." The man looked at her guiltily. He glanced over her, and he said, "your clothes are dirty. Take them off first. You take it to them and they'll clean it up in a minute." As he spoke, he glanced at his female secretary.

The female secretary nodded. She walked up and said, "Cathy, let me clean it for you."

Cathy's face changed slightly. She laughed and shook her head hastily, "no, don't bother. They just spilled a little wine on my clothes, and the wine smelled good. You don't have to bother with the cleaning. I'll just go back and clean it myself."

The female secretary smiled and she said in a low voice, "Cathy, you might as well give me your dirty clothes. I'll have it cleaned. Or Mr. Franklin will be very sorry."

Cathy's face froze. She had to take off her clothes today, didn't she?

Suddenly a terrible guess came to her mind.

James didn't even find out about her pregnancy, did he?

The raw meat, the table... Could it be?

Cathy's eyes flickered with surprise. She was embarrassed, "I..."

Just as she was about to speak, she saw a figure fluttering past the pearl curtain swiftly. He walked up to James, bent over and laughed, "Mr. Franklin, I am truly sorry that those waiters have disturbed you and caused you trouble. Let me know if you have any questions or requests."

The man's furrowed eyebrows spread. With the deadpan coldness, he glanced at the boss. His voice also sounded cold, "you look for the woman's clothes. They must be new clothes, not kimono, for this young lady."

When the boss heard that, he looked up at Cathy and nodded quickly, "ok, I'll bring them to you right away."

"Mr. Flanklin......" Cathy looked at the man and before she could stop him, the boss had already left with the waiters. She looked a little terrible.

Now it dawned on her that she had fallen into a trap tonight. The man was obviously scheming and consolidating step by step, and he knew she could not refuse.

"I'm really sorry." The man looked at her and his face looked sorry.

"Cathy, take off your coat and I'll dry it up and let the smell go." The female secretary said with a gentle smile.

Nick has been with Cathy for so many years that he could sense her emotions, but he thought she's just embarrassed. So he unbuttoned his suit immediately and said, "Cathy, maybe you should wear my clothes first."

Cathy really regretted that she didn't bring Aaron to dinner, and why did she bring Nick to dinner with her? He didn't understand her mind at all. After hearing what he said, it would be too humiliating for the opposite side

if she didn't take her clothes off.

She felt a chill in her heart but her face didn't change much. She nodded to the female secretary and said, "well, then I'll trouble you."

As she spoke, she put her finger to her collar, and unbuttoned the first button. At the same time, she was also quickly thinking of a way to deal with the current situation.

In a few seconds, as she unbuttoned the last button and opened her mouth to say something, there was a sound of footsteps outside.

The next moment, the bamboo curtain was lifted, and the boss came back with the clothes.

"It's a new dress, Miss. Try it on."

Cathy smiled politely and took the dress, "thank you."

"It's actually Mr. Franklin." Their conversation was interrupted by a sudden voice from outside the curtain.

Cathy's heart pulsed as she smelled the familiar scent. Her strained nerves suddenly relaxed.

He was coming.

James's calm eyes suddenly narrowed. He looked out.

The bamboo curtain was lifted, and Eric walked in first. He raised his hand against the bamboo curtain to let the man behind him in.

The female secretary beside Cathy was shocked, when she saw Tyrone's handsome face. Her eyes unconsciously looked at James. Didn't he go abroad? Why was he in Washington?

"Mr. Raman "James smiled again, and His voice sounded strangely, "What a coincidence, I can meet you here."

"I think it's a coincidence, too. When someone said James was here, I thought it was just the same name. But as soon as I saw the shopkeeper's nervous face, I just thought I'd come over and see what was going on." Tyrone smiled faintly. His calm eyes crossed him, and rested on Cathy in the middle for two seconds. Then, he looked away naturally.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

James placidly said, "why didn't you tell me when you came to Washington?"
