Chapter 51
I stood up tall when Liz kept walking through, this time I was the one trying to keep up with her. How in the world is she walking so fast with those heels?
Liz walked up to a few people who I vaguely remember. I decided to talk to some guys to the left of them. “finally left the house for once, sometimes I think you’re a vampire since you hate coming out” Travis said after shaking my hand.
I rolled my eyes as I took a glass from a waitress walking around.
“don’t act like I didn’t just see you in this morning meeting” I commented.
The guys around just laughed. “don’t blame you for wanting to keep Liz inside” Travis bit back his eyes following Liz as she titled her head back laughing.
She even makes laughing look sexy.
“don’t make me drop your promotion Travis,” I said my eyes full of warning. He’s been with me for a few years, so he doesn’t really have the same respect for his boss like the newer employees.
He made the motion of zipping his lips. Good choice.
I felt her eyes on me before even looking in her direction. Emily stood tall with some other people, her legs sucked into some tight black leather trousers and an extra top that made her stand out.
Not as much as my Lizzy though.
When my eyes met hers she instantly took that as an invitation as she started walking in my direction leaving her friends behind her. All looked equally as nervous as the guys standing around me. Liz was only an arm’s length away, so I was hoping Emily didn’t make any bold moves.
Liz is all one for keeping the piece but if Emily even puts one finger on me I know she will do something.
I stepped forward meeting her before she could get closer to Liz, I mean does she have a death wish.
“Finally stepped out of hiding Leon,” she said smiling at me. I sent her an annoyed look.
“don’t start, Emily “I replied making sure she knew that I was not pleased to even have this conversation with her.
She nodded her head as she got the message. “I won’t, just old friends saying hi” I scoffed, old friends.
“Make it quick”
That wasn’t me that said that. no, those words came from the sexy red lips of Liz as she stepped to my side. Her arm coming around to rest on my back. They moved up to grip my neck. I was slightly turned on with this possessive action.
“oh yeah, Leon always makes it quick don’t you,” Emily said this loud enough for the surrounding people to hear. Great now I feel like I’m in some weird movie.
Is this where Liz reaches out and smashes Emily to the nearest wall or no?.
“Maybe for you Emily, there’s a difference between fucking and making love to your man, but let’s get one thing straight, Leon didn’t even let you get close to that did he.” Oh shit, Liz went in.Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
I couldn’t even stop the grin forming on my mouth. It was actually amusing when Emily’s friends stepped in removing her from the equation.
She’s just going to embarrass herself further.
When they were gone Liz didn’t even miss a single second as she pulled me down to meet her lips. Her perky breasts were pushing against my chest and her hand gripped my neck like her life depended on it. This was way more PDA than we ever have done but I wasn’t against it.
“your possessive attitude is a real turn on,” I said into her ear as she pulled away blushing from the calls that people around us were doing. She slightly hit my chest “shut up” she said between her teeth.
I stood tall and proud. It was becoming even more difficult to handle her tonight; I just hope she remembers what she did tonight when I have her face buried in the pillows her body completely at my disposal.
Throughout the evening I actually ended up enjoying myself, Liz wasn’t pressuring me to sit with her or keep her company she was an independent woman in her own right, and she gave me the freedom that I didn’t deserve.
“I saw that she has her ring back on, what did you do propose again,” Francesca said walking over. Fran was a very close friend of mine especially when I started working in the city. She’s completely ignored me over the past few weeks due to my idiotic behaviour.
“No, she stole it back and put it back on,” I told her, yes okay it was blunt but how could one of my closest friends ignore me for that long at least slap me or something.
Her eyes widened “what a queen, I knew I loved her” you and me both Fran.
She sat back with me. “I know you’re mad at me for ignoring you, but I honestly was hurt that you even thought about any other woman when you have the perfect one,” she said her tone much calmer and gentler.
I wrapped my arm around her shoulders. “I get that, I think I let everyone down. I’m genuinely surprised she even gave me another chance” I spoke honestly as I watched Liz dance around with some other guests. “Actually, I should probably tell you guys something” now I’m nervous.
Fran grabbed Liz’s hand and pulled her to sit on the opposite side of her. Liz looked equally as nervous.
Fran fiddled with her skirt before looking up at me. “Franny what’s up,” I said reaching for her hand.
“I recently just realised something, and I guess it makes a lot of sense to me now that I know but, I think I’m gay, no I am gay. I have had a lot of time to myself to realise that I wasn’t living the life that I truly should be. I found a really good relationship with this girl in my company and I can’t even pretend anymore” Yes, Fran was rambling.
From our positions, me and Liz could simply look over at each other and slowly our lips turned up into a smile.
About time.
“You knew!” Fran exclaimed, jumping up from her seat.
Liz held her hand. “we obviously didn’t know but we had our suspicions. Fran Leon knows you like no other man in your life and we both could clearly see that you were never happy or satisfied in your previous relationships”
“Also, you never flirted with me” I commented.
Liz reached over and pinched me “But you don’t have to be nervous, its who you really are, and we would never judge you or like you any different alright” Liz spoke gently. Fran was seconds away from crying and Liz’s words may have been the answer to releasing the hidden feelings and emotions.
“Now you can bring your girlfriend as a plus one to our wedding without being so nervous” I pushed Fran slightly, lightening up the conversation.
She was a blubbering mess.
“you guys are so cool,” she said in between her sobs.
“there there,” I said rubbing her back as she just let it go.
We had to simply smile off at people passing us, it probably looked really sketchy, but we didn’t care really, I can’t imagine what it was like having to hide who you really are from the world.
