Chapter 30- Arabella

Chapter 30- Arabella

So, it is two of them. The silence between them stretched for a few seconds. I listened carefully for

anything, but I couldn’t hear anything, like they disappeared in thin air.

My heart lurched in fear as I heard the first guy right behind me.

“Cosa abbiamo qui?” I could hear the smirk in his voice. (What do we have here?)

I looked behind me to find a tall male bearing down on me. I couldn’t see his face properly due to the

darkness.

“I don’t think she can understand us.” A bored voice, thick with Italian accent came from the other side

of me.

The first guy huffed.

“What are you doing here girl?” The second guy asked.

“I am lost. Do you know the way out?” I said standing up.

My voice shook with fear. The first guy seemed to like to see the fear in me. I heard him making an

appreciative sound.

“How did you end up in here in the first place?” the second guy asked again.

His accent was making it difficult to understand what he was saying.

“I ran in the woods without looking and when I did look around, I didn’t know where I was. I am waiting

for the sun to rise so could at least see where I am.” I explained leaving the more important bits out.

I don’t know why but something felt odd about these two people.

“Let’s just kill her and move on. We have work to do.” The first guy said snorting.

I stiffened when he said the killing part. I saw the second guy nod discretely. Oh no. Are they some sort

of criminals? The way they talked about killing me so casually makes me think they are. What should I

do now? I couldn’t even see properly.

The first guy tried to grab me, but I ducked on instinct and moved away from the both of them. Well

seems like I have to rely on my hearing and other senses more now.

They stopped momentarily at my action but caught themselves quickly and lunged at me again. I

ducked under the second guy’s arms and kicked first one in the stomach. Taking advantage of the

second guy’s distraction, I kicked his legs from under him and made a dash for it.

But my luck decided to go on a vacation on the very moment and I tripped over a tree root. I was about

to get up and run again but fell down on my front as one the two men pushed me down with his foot.

“You bitch. How dare you hit me?” He growled.

His boots dug into my back painfully as he kept pressing them down more and more. He pulled me up NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.

into a kneeling position by my hair. I couldn’t help but wince in pain.

My face whipped to the side as he slapped me hard. I could taste the blood in my mouth. He yanked

my hair down making me look up at his face but it had changed. His eyes were glowing red and I think I

saw his teeth growing.

Shit! They are supernaturals. I should say my last prayer now. I don’t think they will let me live after

this.

The second guy came beside him and glared at me. I gulped looking at their angry faces.

“Filthy human.” The second guy spat in a disgusting tone.

My breath left me as a kick landed on my stomach. I wanted to fight but I couldn’t muster the strength

to. Only if I hadn’t fallen on my face.

Another kick came after the first one and then another. They kept coming. They had let go of my hair

and I slumped on the ground, curling in a fetal position to protect myself as much as I could.

“We were going to give you an easy death but now you will have a painful one.” The first guy grunted

with every kick.

A hard kick landed on my head. Black dots started to appear in my vision and I closed my eyes. I felt

dizzy even with my eyes closed. The pain felt too much. It hurts. Please stop.

I shouldn’t have run away from my family for one stupid boy. I shouldn’t let him affect me so much.

Look where I am now. I should have stayed with mom, dad and my siblings.

“Let’s snap her neck for good measures. If anyone found her and she babbled about us, we will be

screwed.” One of the guys said once they were done kicking the life out of me.

I felt one of them bend near my face. I won’t be able to see my family for one last time. I screwed my

eyes tightly as I felt his hand on my neck but he stiffened and moved back. Do they want to beat me up

more? I opened my eyes to look at what was happening.

I couldn’t see clearly and with the darkness it was already hard to see. A misty light filled the forest

around us and the next moment, the two guys dropped on the ground right in front of me but it wasn’t

their body. There were two piles of ashes. That can’t be possible.

Am I hallucinating? Did I die already?

My head pulsed with pain and my vision started to close in. I slipped into the darkness as a calm light

filled the forest around me.
