Chapter 29
Lilian was seated on the bed when Xavier came in, the look on his face revealed how annoyed he felt.
He pulled off his shirt and moved towards the bed, he was biting his lips while glaring at Lilian.
“So it has reached this extent, Lilian? You now work with hoodlums huh?” He yelled at her.
She hissed and looked off at him. “What’s the meaning of that question?”
“You just asked me that? Tell me the offense Vanessa committed that you’re treating her this way? What exactly is your problem?”
Lilian got down from the bed taking her cell phone with her. “I don’t ever want to speak about that lady, you rejected my meal because of her and you still expect me to be happy, Xavier.”
She was so upset at that moment, if only he wasn’t her fiance, then she might raise her hands on her.
“Vanessa is just a babysitter in this home. I can’t watch her take over my position or either my place in your heart.” She remarked.
He sat on the bed but couldn’t say a word. Vanessa glared at him with much anger revealed on her face. She opened the door and left him alone in the room.
Xavier couldn’t bear the anger so he left instantly to the sitting room where she’s busy with her cell phone.
“Lillian, you can’t just be hooking up with hoodlums in my home all because of a lady like you. Who gave you the guts to send a thug to deal with Vanessa because of the meal he brought for me in the office? Besides, you haven’t once prepared a meal for me since you came into this home, you are too lazy to do that and you left everything to Tracy to do herself… meanwhile I never expected you to do so.” His hoarse voice echoed.
Lilian bit her lips in agony, she felt uncomfortable in the sitting room that she got on her feet to leave, but Xavier didn’t let her pass by.
She paused her movement staring into his eyes to see how irritated he was at the moment.
For all the months she has been with him she has never witnessed him getting angry just like he has always been since he paid him this visit, and that has all that started from the day Vanessa began working for them as a babysitter, which she never wanted.
“Xavier you need to understand me, you know how I’m feeling at the moment. Before me you rejected a meal I prepared myself all because of Vanessa… you ignored my presence and contacted Vanessa in my presence to get you her own meal… and then, what did you expect me to do? To sit, cross my leg and watch her take my position in your heart just like that? Tell me exactly, what will I ever do to get you to myself? What will I ever do to make you happy? Tell me, I’m ready to do anything just to make you happy.” She screamed.
Xavier took a deep breath through his nostrils, he watched as Vanessa stood uttering gibberish words while opposite him.
Only if she knows how he felt, she wouldn’t stand saying such words to his hearing.
“There is nothing that you can do to make me happy other than letting Vanessa be. I employed her myself and I am the one paying her on a monthly basis. She is babysitting my little daughter which I know you can never do, so you kindly let her be.”
“I need her to have rest of mind in my home, you can do your work…yes, you can do your job as my fiance why she does her as a worker… don’t worry me again if she wholeheartedly does your job because you left it for her to do. You don’t need to complain when she does what you’re supposed to do because you know it is your responsibility.”
Lillian folded her arms against her chest, she stood immobile without saying a word again.
This is one thing she can never believe Xavier will ever let her know. The presence of Vanessa in the home has changed every part of her, besides she had let him know on time to sack her but he refused.
But then, that’s not the reason behind her sudden change… just as Xavier had explained, Vanessa is just employed to babysit Chloe while she is his fiance but wouldn’t concentrate on the reason behind her visit.
Tracy moved towards her father tapping him, Xavier turned to see the girl kind of exhausted.
“What’s going on with you, Tracy? Are you alright? Your hair is so rumpled… Did anyone get you upset?” He threw multiple questions at her.
Tracy couldn’t say a word, either she stared at Lilian who focused on glaring at her.
At the time, she left the position back to her room.
Xavier wasn’t himself, he had to leave Lillian in the sitting room just to know what’s wrong with Tracy only for him to get her with Chloe in a cuddle.
He moved towards the bed feeling baffled. “Are you alright Chloe?” he asked, trying to know what’s going on with the little girl.
She sat on the bed and crossed her legs together, her eyes were reddish and puffy. Tears were still rolling down her cheeks.
Xavier got seated on the bed wiping the tears on her cheek.”You haven’t given me an answer to the question I just asked, what is wrong with you little girl? Did anyone hurt you? Don’t be scared, just let me know.”
Little Chloe got on her feet while still on the bed, she fell into his arms. “Ma’am Lilian threatened me,” she uttered.
Tracy glanced at her father who pretended not to hear what she just said.
“What did you just say now? Who threatened you?” he asked again.
“She just said that ma’am Lillian threatened her, don’t pretend you didn’t hear what she said.” Tracy retorted.
Xavier was about getting on his feet but Chloe drew him back. “I never said you should go query her, but I just want to let you know that I will commit suicide if you ever sack ma’am Vanessa from babysitting me… I can never stay with ma’am Lilian for any reason. She is so hostile, even the steps she takes are so arrogant and I don’t feel comfortable with it….
She paused and wiped the tears on her cheek, her heart was too heavy at that moment.
She wouldn’t be losing the only woman that makes her happy.
“Ma’am Lilian ordered me to reject ma’am Vanessa from babysitting me, she promised to take good care of me if I do so …but I’m not comfortable with her. She said that Vanessa is an obstacle in this home and she would love her to get sacked. But Dad, I won’t stand and watch that happen …whenever you’re ready to sack her, just let me know I will leave with her too.” Chloe narrated and laid on the bed.
Tracy caressed her hair with her palm while she got on her feet and left the room. This is just the reason she looked exhausted, in order to attract her father’s attention so quickly.
Despite the fact that she doesn’t love any of the two ladies, she would manage to accept Vanessa for the sake of Chloe. At least with her, she won’t be worried again.Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.
Xavier cuddled Chloe into his arms, he made sure she fell asleep before he left the room to meet Lilian in his bedroom deep asleep.
He thought of waking her up, but was against it at last.
It’s time for him to keep mute towards Lillian’s action and just watch her get herself out of his life.
For her to threaten his little daughter she had done the worst more than he expected. With everything she narrated to Chloe, means that she isn’t just happy meeting Vanessa in his home, and the last thing he will ever do is to kick the lady out because of her.
That’s just because he believes Lilian will never be able to solve the problems Vanessa has been solving for him.
With Vanessa’s presence in the house Chloe has been able to sleep throughout the night without disturbance, she doesn’t experience nightmares any longer and she doesn’t visit him in his room at midnights again.
The happiness he noticed roaming in her mind all this while is beyond his expectations, he loved seeing the little girl comfortable around Vanessa.
She speaks of her every time and wants to be with her every second. A mistake he will never do… one thing he will never attempt to do is to kick Vanessa off his home.
Besides, she’s a worker and there is nothing binding him with Vanessa.
He wiped his face and left to the bathroom to take his shower after which he returned to the room and got his nightwear on before heading to the dining room to take his dinner.
Lillian has never run around when he is back from work to make sure he takes his meal before going to bed, rather she’s always out to tackle an innocent lady that has been a Savior in his home.
