Chapter 69 Mr. Smith’s Real Heart
Chapter 69 Mr. Smith’s Real Heart
Usually, Wesley’s car would have been a tiger’s nest for her, but now Harriet sat in it without hesitation.
It was so cool in the car, so she did not feel hot any more, “Can I have some water?”
Wesley handed her a bottle of mineral water, and Harriet immediately took it and began to unscrew it,
but after a long wring, her palm ached and the cap didn't budge!
“...Can you give me another one?” Harriet asked.
Wesley replied, “No.”
Harriet froze with a pause before pleading, “Could you unscrew it for me?”
She felt a little regretful after that, because she was afraid that Wesley would misunderstand her.
Wesley was so gentlemanly at the moment that he helped her open the water bottle without any
hesitation. And Harriet took a few mouthfuls as if she had been rescued.
Looking at Harriet’s discomfited manner, Wesley regretted leaving her alone for so long.
But if not, how could she change herself?
“Thanks.” After drinking water, Harriet did not forgive to say thanks.
Wesley drove earnestly, “Do you know what’s wrong with you?”
Harriet suddenly realized that it wasn't over yet.
“Yes, I ought not to have disobeyed you, or said those disrespectful things to you.”
Harriet talked smoothly, with her heart numb.
Wesley, however, isn’t pleased with the answer, “That’s one of them.”
“Well...” Harriet gritted her teeth, “Could you tell me what’s wrong with me directly.”
Wesley’s face was muffled. The point he wanted the woman to make was not that at all, but what it was
he couldn't say, so he kept silent for a while.
If she had told him clearly that she might not be able to get pregnant in the future, he might not be so
cruel.
Harriet looked at the man for a moment and said with a faint smile, “Since you haven’t thought of it for a
while, then let’s talk about it next time. I will do nothing more to displease you.”
Now she knew that she could not challenge Wesley in the future. Leaving her in a foreign country was
such a great punishment.
He had no conscience, or he cared nothing for her. She had imagined that he would love her, but today
she realized the cruel truth.
Had he felt pity and guilt for himself when she had told him she could not conceive?
No.
Now he came back to pick her up, perhaps because he was afraid that she might be lost abroad, and it
would be difficult for him to explain, because everyone at the birthday party knew that it was her who
took her away.
“Harriet, if you behave yourself, I can give you anything you want.”
When they arrived at the hotel parking lot, Wesley finally uttered a word.
Harriet blinked and then smiled, “Really? Then-- I want your heart, will you give it?”
Wesley looked her seriously, and the pupils seemed to draw people in.
“I’m kidding. I know who I am and how dare I defile your holy heart.” Harriet said and got out of the car.
After returning to the hotel room and finding her cell phone, Harriet found that her brother had called
her several times, so she had to call back to say that she was safe. She lied about getting drunk at
dinner and spent the night out at a hotel with the crew.
Harriet had done this before, so Colin didn't suspect.
Colin hesitated and said, “There is something I want to discuss with you.”
“Go ahead.”
Harriet lay prone on the bed, with her slender legs swaying unconsciously. Wesley stood at the door
with his throat clenched. Then he entered the bedroom.
When Harriet heard that her brother was going to live with his girlfriend, she couldn't help thinking that
her brother had really grown up, “That’s not bad. And do you succeed in catching your girlfriend’s
heart? Well, I thought you wanted advice, and you know that I really understand the art of love.” Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
“Harriet, I mean it. I want to be responsible for her, and I like her. She was bullied by her family before
and I don't want to leave her alone.”
Harriet's heart ached with relief at her brother's words.
“Well, you have a girlfriend now, so you do not care about me any more.”
Then Colin hurriedly said, “Or you live with us when you come back.”
Harriet was amused by her brother's foolishness.
“Come on, I’m only joking. I’m not going to be a third wheel. By the way, when I get back, I’ll help you
move so that I can meet your little girlfriend.”
“Well, but are you sure you won't live with us? I’m a little worried...”
Harriet was about to say something to reassure her brother, but Wesley took the phone.
“No, your sister is taken care of.”
Colin was stunned. The voice...If he remembers correctly, isn't that Mr. Smith?
Harriet grabbed the phone in a fit of rage and glared at Wesley, who had broken all her lies.
“Harriet, is that Mr. Smith? Don’t you say that you get together with the crew? But why do you stay with
him now?”
Harriet had to hold the phone away when her brother asked. She said in a broken voice, “Well, he is
just here. And here the signal is not good, so I have to hang up!”
Putting down the phone, Harriet said angrily, “Mr. Smith, don’t you know it’s very impolite to touch
someone’s mobile phone without permission?”
Wesley didn't care about it. He squinted his deep eyes, “What the relationship between you and me?”
Harriet was momentarily speechless.
“Since you’re good at the art of love, why don't you try it on me?”
His word made Harriet feel embarrassed.
Helplessly, she said, “Mr. Smith, I just want to cheat my brother, so you should forgive it.”
However, Wesley firmly clamped her delicate chin, “What if I have to fuss about it?”
...
Harriet suddenly tightened her body, thinking that if he was not happy, he would probably do something
to her body, but she could not bear it now. She said gritting teeth, “If you want me to fall in love with
you, of course I will. And it is my honor to have such an excellent person like you. But I just do not
know whether it will insult your identity.”
She said this only to get rid of his desire.
Of course, Wesley knew what she meant, and he really remembered what the doctor said just now.
“Harriet, I find that you are really a liar.”
Wesley’s cold voice startled Harriet for a moment, but then she smiled with indifference.
“Is it the first time that you meet such situation? In the entertainment industry, all people are double-
faced. But You may rest assured. My compliments are sincere, and I shall never deceive you.”
If Harriet had always been so nice, Wesley would have liked it, but at this moment, looking at her
unmistakable smile, he felt annoyed.
He really liked obedient women, but did not like Harriet's presence of pandering.
He wanted her to surrender willingly.
Wesley let go of her chin, and stood up coldly, “I am wondering what you’re going to do with it.”
