Damian’s Obsession

44

He had followed us to the safe house.

“We will just stay here till the problem at hand is no more.” Damian said.

“Okay.” I agreed.

Anywhere is better than staying in that hospital.

We walked in. I was about to go into any room I could find when I noticed something, rather someone in the living room.

It was a woman and she had her back turned towards us.

“Who’s that?” I asked and everyone’s attention turned towards her.

She finally noticed our presence and turned to face us. My jaw dropped when I saw her. She was by far the most beautiful woman I have ever set my eyes upon.

She smiled when she saw us.

“Damian.” She called as she batted her long lashes seductively.

I could feel Damian’s reaction was that of shock. Who is she and how does she know him, or this place.

“Ana.” Damian finally uttered.

She is Ana?????

The Ana that betrayed him and planned to kill him?? It felt so unreal. The same lady I was praising for her angelic beauty turns out to be a crazy wench.

People say you can’t judge a book by its cover, they are right.

“You remember me.” She said as her glassy eyes showed happiness.

I can’t deny it, no matter what evil she has done in the past, I have to say she really is beautiful. No wonder they say the most beautiful ones are always the most evil.

“It is not hard to forget a gold digger.” Felix answered, in anger and spite.NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.

Damian was still quiet. He looked dumbstruck like he didn’t expect she would be here. Well, no one did.

Her happy eyes turned into that of sadness and regret.

“You still haven’t forgotten what happened??” She asked in sadness.

“How is it hard to forget betrayal?” Felix asked back, in a more harsh manner.

She had tears in her eyes but blinked them away before they would drop.

“I don’t know what is wrong with me. What was I expecting?? A happy reunion??” She muttered as she sniffed tearfully.

“What are you doing here? You are supposed to be dead.” Damian finally spoke out after being silent for some time.

“I survived. You don’t seem surprised I survived.” She answered.

“How is that surprising??” Felix asked, not loud enough for her to hear but I was able to since I was standing close to him.

“Since you survived, aren’t you supposed to be hiding?? You must be a fool coming back here.” Damian said.

“I know you all think I am a fool. I think so too. but I just came here to clear my conscience.” She said.

“It has been three whole years already. Why are you just coming now??” Felix asked.

Now that I noticed, Felix and Damian are the only ones that have been ding the talking. Grey whom I had expected to lash out on her, judging by how he has been comparing me to her was silent all through.

Or was it that he was surprised to see her here because according to what they have been saying, she was supposed to be dead.

I turned to stare at him but he had an unreadable expression on. I wonder what is going on in that brain of his.

“Mark kidnapped me. I was only able to escape about two weeks ago.” Ana answered Felix’s question.

That was approximately the same time that I saw Mark in Paris.

“How do we know you aren’t lying?? You look great for someone who has been captured for three years.” Felix said.

She seemed caught off guard by his question.

“I’m not lying. I was captured by him. I was only able to escape because he wasn’t with me at that time.” She stuttered out.

“What are you doing here then?? I hope you aren’t expecting me to give you refuge here.” Damian said to her.

“No. Rather, I came here to apologize for turning my back on you.” She said.

“Great, you have apologized already. You can leave now. Let’s go princess.” Damian said and held my hand.

We were about to leave when she ran and stood in front of us.

“Wait. Please just hear me out Damian.” She pleaded.

“Hear what out?? How you betrayed me and tried to kill me for money??” Damian asked, pain was evident in his voice.

“I didn’t want to do it at first. Mark made me do it. He threatened to end me if I didn’t accept his proposal.” She said.

“Don’t you think you explanation is already three years late?? What difference are you trying to make now? What’s done is done.” Damian said, rather coldly.

“Damian.” She called in pain.

“I am fighting the urge to strangle you right now. Leave while I’m still asking nicely.” Damian warned coldly.

“Damian, you weren’t like this before. What changed??” She asked as teats brimmed at the corner of her eyes.

“I have always been like this. You were just too stupid to notice.” Damian answered.

She looked so pitiful and I wanted to feel really bad for her but something about her didn’t feel right. She said she escaped from Mark about two weeks ago, why did she show up today like she knew we would be back now.

And also, how did she know that we would be here instead of the other mansion??

“Is it because of her?” She asked as she turned to face me.

“What nonsense are you saying?” Damian asked back.

“Is it because of this wench that you are treating me this way?? Too bad because she wouldn’t stay when she finds pout who you really are. She is no different from the other girls if that’s what you are expecting.” She said as her sad expression turned into that of anger.

“Don’t talk to her that way.” Damian warned angrily. His hazel eyes had already darkened.

“Why?? It’s not like I’m lying. When she finds out the murderer and freak that you are, she would leave and when that happens, I would be the one you would come cryi…” She wasn’t able to complete her sentence when Damian suddenly wrapped his hands around her tightly.

“I told you to stop talking.” He said angrily as he tightened his hold on her while she struggled to breath.

“What are you doing Damian?? Let her go!!!!” Grey who had been silent all through finally said.

“Why?? I am trying to clean up your mess.” Damian answered as he squeezed her neck the more.

He had a murderous intent in his eyes. I wanted to stop him but I held myself back. I can’t let him transfer his anger towards me.

“Why don’t we just let her go?? She won’t come back here again.” Grey pleaded.

Grey had fear and pain written on his face. Why is he acting like this??

“I warned her already.” Damian muttered.

He kept on squeezing her neck till she stopped struggling. Then he released her and let her drop with a small thud on the floor.

Grey ran to where she was and crouched next to her limp body. He leaned in and felt her pulse.

“She is dead.” He announced.

“Take care of her body.” Damian said nonchalantly.

“What have you done.” Grey screamed out as his eyes widened in horror.

“She was supposed to be dead if only you have done your job right.” Felix reminded.

What are they talking about?? “Bullshit. You could have just let her go. Why did you have to kill her??” He asked.

“Were you expecting us to let her go so she would lead Mark here??” Damian asked back.

“Why are you acting like this Grey?? Don’t tell me….. were you in love with her??” Felix teased.

He didn’t reply but rather, he glared at Felix. Judging by his reaction, he really was in love with her.

“Just do a you were told and take care of the body.” Damian said.

“I was really hoping it wouldn’t come to this point but what can I do?? You made the worst decision ever.” He said and brought out a pistol from his pockets and pointed it at me.

Why is he pointing it at me?? What did I ever do to him??

“What are you doing Grey?? Put the gun down!” Damian ordered, fear was evident in his voice.

“Do you still don’t get it Damian?? I am not your dog that you can order around. You really thought that you would get a happy ever after with this bitch after murdering Ana??” Grey asked as her corked the gun.

“Put the gun down Grey. Let’s talk about this calmly like gentlemen.” Felix said.

“There is nothing more to talk about. She is not going to leave here alive.” Grey said before pulling the trigger.

I closed my eyes in fear, awaiting the pain when……….
