Contract With The Alpha King

Contract 7

Fiona stood beside Prince Elijah, her heart pounding in her chest. She could feel the weight of a hundred eyes on her, but she kept her gaze steady, her expression composed.

Earlier, she could see her father from the crowd and accidentally met his eyes. She quickly turned away but she could still feel her father's gaze, still she decided to ignore it. Instead, she focused on Elijah as his voice rang out, clear and commanding, as he announced the marriage between her and Zachariah as void

Just as she expected, Elijah's words hit like a shock wave, and almost immediately, chaos erupted. Fiona's eyes flicked toward Zach, standing just behind his parents. His face twisted in disbelief and fury, but before he could react, Elijah's hand was on her arm.

"You need to go," he said quietly. The two already agreed beforehand that after the announcement, she needed to leave the main hall while Elijah takes care of the aftermath.

Without waiting for her response, Elijah motioned to Regor, who quickly stepped forward. Regor then nodded to Fiona, indicating for her to follow him. The noise of the hall faded slightly as they exited, but the echoes of the uproar still lingered in Fiona's ears.

She bit her lower lip. Elijah assured her that everything would be fine. But is that really true? They are currently surrounded by her packmates. Was Elijah's Royal status enough to change everything?

was

Regor led Fiona to a room on the second floor of the mansion, far enough from the main hall that the shouting barely audible. The door closed behind her with a heavy thud, and Fiodh found herself alone in the silence. Again, Elijah must have already arranged this room in advance. It was something that Fiona appreciated. However, she couldn't help but think why did had to do all this. Was it because he was scared Fiona's own pack would send assassins after her!

She stood there for a moment, taking in the room. It was simple and sparsely decorated, with a large window overlooking the courtyard. Fiona walked over to it, peering out at the quiet scene below. What was happening downstairs? How were they reacting to the announcement? She couldn't imagine Zach accepting this without a fight.

Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of voices outside the door. Fiona strained to listen, recognizing Regor's deep voice, but there was another, more familiar one-Carrie.

Curiosity and a sense of foreboding pulled her toward the door. She opened it just a crack, enough to see Carrie standing in front of Regor, her expression fierce as she argued with him.

"I need to see her," Carrie insisted. Her usually gentle voice was sharp as she spoke to Regor. Despite this, Fiona could easily sense the anxiety beneath it.

"Lady Fiona is not to be disturbed," Regor replied, his tone firm as he stood in front of the door. With his towering six foot- seven height, the man looked like a mountain in front of her.

"I'm not just anyone! I am her best friend!" Carrie shot back. "We grew up together!"

Fiona hesitated for a moment before deciding to step out. "It's alright, Regor. Let her in," she said calmly.

Regor gave her a questioning look but nodded, stepping aside to let Carrie pass. Fign stepped back into the room, and Carrie followed without saying a word.

"What do you want, Carrie?" Fiona asked, keeping her voice steady. She stood not too far from the woman, without offering

her a seal.

Why are you doing this, Fiona? Why are you trying to ruin Zach's life? Voiding the marriage do you know what this means for him? For the pack?" Carrie's words came out in a rush, her eyes wide with disbelief. Fiona regarded her calmly, a hint of sarcasmn creeping into her voice. "Do you need to ask that question?"

"We were best friends, Fiona, I know you're hurt, but this.. this too far. We grew up in this pack. Would you really like us to become the laughingstock of everyone in the werewolf community?"

"Best friends," Fiona repeated, her voice cold. "Is that what we were? Because friends don't betray each other, Carrie. Friends don't sleep with their best friend's husband or did you hit your head somewhere and forgot that you were fucking with your best friend's husband?"

Carrie's face paled. "It wasn't like that, Fiona. Zach he was-

"Save it," Fiona cut her off, her voice hardening. "I don't want to hear your excuses. I didn't agree to let you in because I wanted to hear the reasons and lies. You both made your choices and now you have to live with the consequences."

Fiona was simply curious as to why this woman decided to come She thought Carrie would immediately start explaining why she did what she did. Who would have thought that she would start talking about Zack and the Pack!?

"You're going to destroy him, Fiona. You know that, right? Voiding the marriage could cost him his claim to the Alphat position. Is that what you want?" Carrie said. All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.

"What I want is for Zach to face the consequences of his actions. He thought he could do whatever he wanted, without any regard for me, for our marriage. He was wrong." All she wanted was to leave this place before they discovered her secrets.

Carrie took a step closer, tears were already streaming in her eyes. "Please, Fiona. Don't do this. You can still change your mind. We can fix this. Perhaps, you can tell the Prince that you were wrong and that you are still going to accept him. I promise I will stay away from him. I love him but I can leave, leave the pack. After giving birth, our child will

"I really think we shouldn't be having this conversation anymore" Fiona uttered. "I am leaving this pack soon. I wish you and Zach well."

For a moment, Carrie just stared at her."I never meant to hurt you, Fiona," she whispered, her voice trembling.

Fiona's expression softened slightly. She recalled the time when she discovered the affair between the two a few months ago, Then she sighed. "Maybe you didn't, but you did. And now, we all have to live with the choices we've made." For weeks, Fiona tried to understand why Carrie who grew up with her would suddenly betray her. However, she couldn't find any answers to her questions. In the end, she had to accept that just like Zach, Carrie made a choice.

The heavy silence between them was filled with the weight of everything left unsaid. And after what felt like forever, Carrie turned and walked toward the door. She paused her hand on the doorknob and looked back at Fiona, her eyes filled with regret.

"I'm sorry," she said, her voice barely audible. "I really am

Fiona didn't respond as she watched Carrie leave the room, closing the door softly behind her. Silence enveloped her again.

She turned back to the window, staring out at the darkening sky, wondering what the future would hold. And for a moment, she found peace.

However, this peaceful atmosphere didn't last long when a knock on the door interrupted her stupor. She opened it and immediately saw the dark expression on Regor's face as he said, Lady Fiona, urgent news has just come in. The lady who was here earlier, Miss Carrie... she collapsed shortly after leaving your presence. She's been rushed to the infirmary.. she was found bleeding, my lady. It started after she saw you."
