Elijah's expression darkened instantly, Fiona followed his lead and took a deep breath, and the scent hit her like a wave- rancid, like rotting flesh mixed with damp earth. It was unmistakable. The smell of rogues, wild and untarned werewolves who had no allegiance to any
pack. The stench was overpowering, making her stomach churn with unease.
As the car remained still. Fiona's eyes widened when she saw three figures emerge from the shadows on the side of the road. They were human in appearance, but the way they moved was predatory, their eyes gleaming with dangerous intent as they approached the vehicle and blocked its path.NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.
Fiona could feel the fear creeping in, but she fought to stay composed. All her life, she had been in the pack, studying medical arts, She had never been personally involved in a fight like this.
"Your Highness" Regor's voice was calm but edged with readiness. "Shall I deal with them?"
Elijah's gaze remained fixed on the rogues, his expression hard. "No," he said sharply. "Stay here. Fiona, don't leave the car." His tone left no room for argument.
But just as he was about to step out, Fiona reached out and grabbed his arm, stopping him. Her heart was pounding, but she forced herself to meet his gaze. "Take care," she said softly, her voice trembling slightly despite her best efforts. "Ill be waiting for you." Elijah's stern expression softened just a fraction as he looked at her. Then, without warning, he smirked, a glint of something darker flashing in his eyes. "I won't keep you waiting long," he murmured.
Before Fiona could react, he leaned in and captured her lips in a sudden, searing kiss. It was hot and demanding, his lips moving against hers with a possessiveness that sent a shiver down her spine. She gasped, her body reacting instantly to the intensity of his kiss, the world around her fading away.
Then, as quickly as it started, he pulled back, leaving her breathless and stunned. His eyes were filled with a mixture of hear and something else-something she couldn't quite decipher
Stay here," he repeated, his voice low and commanding. Without waiting for her response, he turned and stepped out of the car, leaving Fiona to process the whirlwind of emotions he'd just unleashed.
Fiona's heart raced as she watched Elijah exit the car, Regor following closely behind. Her hands gripped the edge of her seat, knuckles white, as she tried to steady her breathing. Through the windshield, she could see Elijah and Regor approach the rogues, who remained eerily still, their eyes tracking the two men like predators sizing up their prey.
The tension in the air was thick. Fiona couldn't hear the exchange, but she could see Elijah speaking, his stance somewhat languid. For a brief moment, she allowed herself to believe that maybe this could end without bloodshed.
But then, without warning. Elijah's hand shot out. Fiona's eyes widened in horror as she saw him impale the rogue on the right, his hand plunging straight through the man's chest as if it were made of paper. The rogue's eyes went wide with shock, a gurgling sound escaping his lips before he collapsed to the ground, lifeless.
Fiona jolted in her seat, her breath catching in her throat. She couldn't believe what she had just witnessed! Elijah's expression remained cold, unfeeling, as he turned his attention to the remaining rogues. The other two didn't flinch, they simply stared at Elijah, their faces devoid of fear.
Before she could fully process what was happening, movement caught Fiona's eye. From the shadows on both sides of the road, more figures emerged-dozens of them, their forms shifting as they stepped into the light. Werewolves, their eyes glowing with a feral intensity, slowly encircled the car and the one behind it, where Elijah's men were stationed.
Fiona's heart pounded in her chest, fear gripping her tightly as the realized they were completely surrounded.
If she was right, there were only four other people in the other car. With Elijah and Regor, there would be a total of six fighters-not including Fiona. Would they be able to handle rogues?
63%
No. She was asking the wrong questions. Why would rogues suddenly appear here? Was it a planned ambush? Who would dare ambush a prince? For some reason, her mind thought of Alpha Cris and Zach. But then she shook her head. No.
They wouldn't be that stupid. Why would they set up an ambush the moment the prince left their territory? With all the commotion that Elijah caused, doing something like this would immediately make them the suspects! "BANG"
Fiona jumped as a werewolf's body slammed into the side of the car, leaving a deep indentation. Her heart raced even faster, her breath coming in short, panicked gasps. Through the cracked window, she could see the chaos unfolding outside. Elijah's men had begun to transform, their human forms shifting into the massive, powerful shapes of their wolf counterparts. The night air was filled with snarls and growls as the fight erupted in full force,
She could barely make out Elijah and Regor in the fray, their movements swift and deadly. One of Elijah's men, now fully transformed, lunged at a rogue, their bodies colliding with bone-crushing force. The rogue howled in pain as claws raked across its side, blood spraying across the ground. Another one of Elijah's men grappled with two rogues at once. powerful jaws snapping inches from their throats.

Fiona's mind raced. She had been trained to heal, to save lives, not to take them. But why was she hiding? Why was she cowering inside the car while the others fought for their lives? She could feel the fear gripping her, but another emotion began to rise within her-a sense of resolve.
Without another thought, Fiona pushed the car door open and stepped out, her legs trembling slightly as she forced herself to stand tall. She could feel the shift in her hands, the bones lengthening, the nails sharpening into deadly claws. Her heart pounded in her chest as she approached the nearest rogue, a surge of adrenaline overpowering her fear.
With a swift movement, Fiona slashed at the rogue's side, her claws tearing through fur and flesh. The rogue yelped in pain, stumbling back in surprise. The ease with which she landed the blow filled her with a fleeting sense of confidence. Maybe this wouldn't be as hard as she had feared.
But just as she prepared to strike again, a loud, piercing howl split the night air. Fiona froze, her body shivering involuntarily at the sound. It was a howl unlike any she had ever heard, filled with a raw, primal power that made her blood run cold.
She turned her head and locked eyes with Elijah, who was staring at her with a mixture of anger and, for some reason, she could clearly see fear flashing in his eyes. His mouth moved, but it wasn't until he shouted her name that she heard him clearly. "Fiona!"
Fiona barely had time to react as she saw a flash of darkness coming straight at her. Her eyes widened in fear, and she froze, her body betraying her in the face of imminent danger. It was as if her limbs were locked in place, refusing to move. Just when she thought the werewolf would strike her down, she felt a pair of strong, warm arms wrap around her, pulling her into a protective embrace. She recognized Elijah's steady heartbeat against her chest, and relief washed over her for a brief moment
Then came the sickening sound of flesh being ripped apart Floga flinched, bracing herself for the impact, but it never came. Instead, she felt a wet warmth on her skin, and when she looked up, she saw the blood dripping from Elijah's lips. He had taken the blow meant for her, shielding her with his own body.
Her heart lurched as she realized what had just happened. Elijah's grip on her weakened, his body going limp in her arms. Before the werewolf could strike again, Regor intervened, taking down the rogue with a swift, brutal attack.
But Fiona's attention was solely on Elijah. He slumped against her, his breath ragged. With a pained effort, he whispered, "Poison claws," before his eyes fluttered shut.
"NO!"
