Contract Marriage With The Disabled CEO By Woody Rain Chapter 63
Chapter 63
Chapter 63 Laughingstock
Jeffrey did not expect that Emily would know about it so soon. He was a bit shocked at first. But looking at Emily’s domineering attitude and twisted face because of anger, he got impatient. “I just didn’t mention it. Besides, you never asked me, either. Anyway, you will know about it when they attend the banquet this weekend.”
Hearing the banquet, Emily was even more furious.
“How dare you mention the banquet? “Emily’s voice sounded sharper. “Have you ever thought that I might break down when I suddenly see Betty at the banquet? I even have to call her aunt Betty.”
Being spoiled by Roger and Daisy, Emily was really capricious. She knew nothing about restraining herself.
But to attract and get along well with Jeffrey, she had been trying to control her bad temper for half a year. Now she got all snapped because of anger.
Emily wanted to scream at the thought of Betty, who had been looked down upon by her for twenty years and had been ruined by her completely, rising above her and becoming her aunt.
“Jeffrey.” Emily screamed hysterically, “Tell me. Did you engage with me on purpose? You didn’t forget Betty at all, right? So you arrange the banquet to make me a laughing stock, don’t you?!”
Jeffrey was annoyed by Emily originally. However, hearing Emily saying this, Jeffrey was not that irritated anymore. He even calmed down in the end.
“Make you a laughingstock?” Jeffrey suddenly sneered, a trace of cruelness flashing in his eyes. “Huh, relax, you won’t be. But someone will.”
Emily was stunned for a moment, and her anger subsided.
ramon
Emily frowned. “What do you mean, Jeffrey?”
ME
“Huh.” Jeffrey lit a cigarette casually and took a puff. “Don’t forget that Betty got a stained reputation. She lost all her dignity two years ago. Our Martin family would never accept her.”
Emily finally understood what Jeffrey meant. She was not angry anymore. Instead, she looked quite excited. “Jeffrey, do you mean that your uncle and the others haven’t known Betty’s filthy past?”
DU me
“No. Kerwin knows.” Jeffrey looked a bit gloomy somehow.
Emily was confused. “Then why did he still marry Betty?”
“Kerwin is not the problem,” Jeffrey became agitated and interrupted Emily impatiently. “It’s my great- grandfather. He used to be a soldier. He values people’s morality the most. He will never accept a tainted woman like Betty.”
Emily beamed with joy. “So, Jeffrey, did you have it all planned?”
“I’m going to tell the ugly past of Betty to great-grandfather at the weekend banquet.”
“That’s it?” Emily was a little disappointed.
Jeffrey frowned. “What do you want?”
Gazed coldly by Jeffrey, Emily was a bit nervous and gave a dry smile. “Nothing.”
Anyhow, Jeffrey targeting Betty as his enemy finally made Emily feel relieved.
This means that Jeffrey had no feelings for Betty anymore.
Although Emily was annoyed that Betty married Kerwin, the thought of Kerwin being disabled made Emily less upset. Besides, if Betty’s past got exposed, the Martin family would surely kick her
out.
Thinking of this, Emily felt much better.
Realizing that she had been screaming at Jeffrey before, Emily felt a little regretful. She approached Jeffrey immediately, sat on his lap, and said gently, “Jeffrey, I’m sorry that I lost my temper just now. Please don’t be angry at me.”
Smelling her strong perfume, Jeffrey could not help frowning.
There was no doubt that Emily was a likable girl. Otherwise, Jeffrey would not choose her among all
those women.
But ever since Jeffrey returned to Chicago, he found that Emily became more and more annoying. He even couldn’t stand her perfume.
Jeffrey couldn’t help remembering that Betty always got a pleasant faint fragrance when she was
still in college. He really liked it.
Damn!
Jeffrey almost hated himself for remembering every single detail of Betty.
Looking at the annoying Emily, Jeffrey pushed her away suddenly. “I have a meeting. If you are tired, you can have a rest here. Remember to close the door when you leave.”
With that, Jeffrey got up and left the office, turning a blind eye to Emily turning pale.
Watching Jeffrey walking out of the office without a backward glance, Emily clenched her fist tightly, her nails almost plunging into her palm.
Emily realized that Jeffrey became a lot more indifferent to her ever since he met Betty again.
Emily almost believed that Jeffrey never forgot Betty at all.

No!
Jeffrey had decided to make a fool of Betty anyway. It was impossible for him to still have feelings for her.
But an absurd idea suddenly occurred to Emily. Jeffrey humiliating Betty was to get her to break up with Kerwin so that he could have a chance of getting Betty back.
The thought of this made Emily’s face paler.
Damn!
No. Emily would never allow this to happen. She would never give Betty a second chance.
Biting her red lips, Emily came up with a plan.
When Emily walked out of Jeffrey’s office, all people in the company couldn’t help fixing their eyes on her.
“My God this is the fiancee of the editor in chief. She is so beautiful in that dress, Sarah couldn’t
help but exclaim.
Sitting at her desk, Betty took a glance at Emily and lowered her head.
Right. Emily had always been beautiful. She was like a little princess since she was a kid. Now, she
was still like a princess.
Compared with Emily, Betty had always lived a humble life with no one caring about her.
Lydia, hearing Sarah’s praise, sneered. “Of course. Only a woman like her is good enough for Jeffrey. If I were you, Betty, I would quit a long time ago.”
Betty glanced coldly at Lydia and suddenly got up.
Scared by Betty suddenly, Lydia stepped back. “Betty, what are you doing? There are so many
people here.”
“Huh.” Betty looked coldly at Lydia, a coward, and put on a disdainful smile. “I am just getting off work.”
With that, she grabbed the bag on the desk and left.
Luckily for her, when she walked to the elevator, Emily had already left. Betty didn’t see her
anymore.
Returning home by car, Betty smelled the good food as soon as she opened the door. She knew that Robert and Lillian were back.
After washing her hands, Betty sat by the table to have dinner with Kerwin.
The thought of this made Emily’s face paler.

However, Kerwin didn’t seem to enjoy the delicious food. He ate less even than the past several days. Betty was confused. Kerwin helped Betty with the dishes and said, “I’ll go to the hospital to visit your mother this weekend.”
Betty was stunned and blurted out hurriedly, “Ah, don’t bother.”© NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
