Kylan was snuck on a phone call for the entirety of the drive back to the office, and so she was left to her own devices, while he talked his way through a business aleal. She opted to browse her social media idly, and she came in a stop when she looked at Litter. Slie saw a comment thread thuu kylan was a part of, and she opened it with a knowing frown on her fare. She checked the date. She gritted her teeth when she realized the argument was from only two hours ago. After she had signed the fucking contract he had thrown in her face over lunch.
Oscar pulled into a spot in the parking garage, and she wasted no time before getting our of the car. She began to walk back into the building. seething with annoyance. She could feel Kylan walking behind her, still on the phone.
She reached the elevator once inside the building, proceeding to press the "up" button repeaterlly. The doors finally opened, and she stepped inside. Kylan was eyeing her with furrowed brows when he got in after her, and she shot him a glare in return. She preved the button for the top floor of the building, folding her am over her chest.
The elevator doors opened once more a minute later, and she stepped out. She was making her annoyance known with how loudly she was walking, and she felt a hand on her arm a moment later.
She whirled around, realizing Kylan had a holl of her, and that he was no longer on the phone. She bristled slightly when she noticed how close he was standing to her. She swallowed and pulled her anm away from him, continuing the angry trek to her office. She reached the open door and stepped inside, waiting for him to join, before she crossed her arms again and leaned against her desk.
She looked at Kylan expectantly, just as soon as he closed the door to her office. He was looking at her in confusion, and she rolled her eyes. a two-way street, is it not?" She asked quietly.
-What the hell are you talking about. Katrina?" Kylan responded, impatience littering his bored tone.
"This is
She unlocked her phone and held it out in front of her, showing him the Litter thread she had found. She watched as recognition flashed across his face before he scowled at her.
"It's ridiculous for you to want to control my damn social media," he said defiantly.
She laughed without any hint of humor. "You're kidding, right Only hours into the contract you formulated, and you're already breaching it? This is unbelievable. You agreed to the addendum, Sir," she reminded her boss.
She felt the anger reaching a dangerous level inside her body, and she fought to keep it from boiling over.
Kylan scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Don't be ridiculous, Katrina," he said flatly, folding his arms across his chest.
"No. If you're expecting me to uphold everything I agreed to, you need to do the same. If I'm going to be paraded around as her fiance or... or wife, even, you need to respect me too," she told him firmly. Kylan seemed to consider her words for a moment. "You're adamant about this?" he asked her quietly.
She groaned in frustration, leaning her head back and looking at the ceiling, before snapping it back down to look at her boss with exasperation. "Do you want the stocks to go up?" she snapped at him.
"Mind your tone, Katrina," Kylan warned. "Of course, I do. I'm the one who agreed to this whole ridiculous relationship idea in the first place. He ran his fingers through his hair a few times. "I will.. not get into any more debates on social media," he said through gritted teeth, like it physically pained him to get the words out
"Til take your word for it this time. But if you go back on your promise, you can expect me to do the same with a rule in the contract. I'll kiss Harry or something like that," she said with a wave of her hand. Kylan's eyes darkened considerably. He stepped forward, coming to a stop o
only a few inches in front of her. "You would kiss Clarke. Katrina?" he asked, his tone taking on an air of something she wasn't familiar with.
He put his arms on either side of her desk, leaning forward even more. They were nearly touching, and she felt her eyes widen considerably. Kylan's eyes scanned the entirety of her face.
"You would do well to remember who the f*ck has the reigns here, Kate," he said, his voice dripping with quiet venom as he emphasized her nickname. His breath tickled her face, and she felt herself shiver. She forced herself to swallow and maintain eye contact with Kylan, despite how much her heart was now racing within her chest. "I only want you to respect the addendum, Sir."
Her voice was small and shaky, and she internally kicked herself for not sounding more confident.
Kylan flashed her a smirk full of mischief, and then he pushed himself off her desk, adjusting his suit jacket in the process. T'll mind the addendum, and you'll keep your lips to your f*cking sell," he said flatly. 1/2

She nodded, doing her best to hide the fact that her knees were shaking at this point. "Thank you, Sir," she breathed.
Be in my office in fifteen minutes for the conference call," Kylan instructed before he turned on his heel and left her office.
She sank into her chair behind her desk, her mind reeling and her heart still beating far too quickly
She had to remind herself that her student loans would be gone in a year, or she was positive she would have already backed out of the contract.

The rest of the workday went by without further incident, and Kylan acted as if he hadn't been nose-to-nose with her at all. She chose to f lead, easily slipping back into the role of being only his assistant,
By the time she was leaving for the day, she felt considerably more at ease. She nearly forgot she was going to pick out reminded her on her way down to the parking garage.
dress with Kylan until he
Right. More time with Kylan. She really wanted nothing more than to go home and lose herself in a bubble bath, but she had to pick a dress
Twenty minutes later. Oscar was pulling up to the first luxury clothing store that Kylan picked. Her boss stared at her, practically daring her to object to las choice but she dutifully kept her mouth shut. She climbed out of the car, not as startled this time when Kylan offered her has hand for help again
She held onto his hand for a moment longer, before he dropped hers, just like during hunch. They walked into the store together, and she watched as Kylan explained to the store clerk, what sort of dress they were looking for. She caught the words "fancy" and "glamorous, taking note of the way the woman clerk eyed Rylan up and down openly, as he spoke. She rolled her eyes, sure that Kylan wasn't paying attention to her.
The employee began to lead the way to the back of the store, where she noticed there were several rows of elegant gowns, in all shades of color. Kylan walked next to her the entire way. You like to roll your eyes when you think I'm not looking he remarked quietly. She gasped in surprise. "Tim. I'm sorry, Sir." she said immediately. She was embarrassed that he had seen her, and she wondered how many other times he had before this one if he was commenting on it
The side of kylan's mouth twitched into a smirk. Tm just Kylan, during moments like this," he reminded her.
"Right I'm sorry, Kylan, she corrected herself, positive her face was as bright as the red dresses the employee was leading her to.
She stopped in front of the selection, telling her about the various designers before she pointed to a private dressing room off to the side of the store. She turned with one more smile at Kylan and then headed back to her post at the front
Kylan began to browse the dresses, and she trailed behind him. Tll choose a few dresses, and then I want you to try them on. I also want you to come out and show me each one." he told her, pulling a black gown from one of the racks, and holding it up to her. He shook his head and put back continuing to walk
She frowned ass
as she watched him repeat the same process with several more dresses. "You've seen me in dozens of gowns for galas. Kylan. How is this that different?" she asked him

She sighed and nodded her head. "Alright, she conceded
It wasn't worth the fight, even if she didn't like the idea of being on disp
display and having Kylan scrutinize how she looked.
