Chapter 20
She opted to leave a few minutes before the end of the game, in favor of fighting the crowd, and Kylan was all too happy to listen. Hand in hand once more, they walked out together. She stopped at the last hot dog cart before the mouth of the stadium and looked at Kylan curiously
"There's one last thing I think you should try today," she said thoughtfully. She let go of Kylan's hand, ordering a hot dog. The cashier funded her the hot dog wrapped in foil, and she walked to put on the condiments at the side of the cart. She threw on some ketchup and mustard, choosing to keep it simple for Kylan
She walked back over to her boss and held out the partially unwrapped hot dog. "One bite," she instructed.
Kylan glared at her, shaking his head. "Absolutely f*cking not," he responded seriously, continuing to walk out of the stadium without her
She rolled her eyes and walked after him. "It's tradition. . You can't come to a baseball game and not get a hot dog. It's simply not allowed," she tried to reason with him.

Kylan scoffed and stuffed his hands in his pockets. "I already tried that deplorable popcorn, and I kissed her. Not to ridiculous hat on my head. That's enough things that are out of my comfort zone," he grumbled.Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
She frowned at him, realizing he was probably right. He had done several things out of his comfort zone. She couldn't fault him for not wanting t try something else, too.
"You're right. I'm sorry, Kylan. Thank you for stepping out of your comfort zone today. I think the results will speak for themselves, though. I do think it will have all been worth it. She did her best to reassure him as she came to a stop near the curb of the road.
Kylan drafted and sent a text to Oscar, telling him they were ready for him to come to collect them. She began to wrap the hot dog back up and Kylan looked down at her. She smiled at him politely in return.
Kylan sighed deeply and groaned. "F*cking hell, give it here. I'll make a show out of it" He wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her into his side. He reached for the hot dog, peeling the foil away and staring at her with a raised eyebrow. He didn't hesitate, bringing the hot dog to his mouth and taking a surprisingly large bite of ite
Her eyes widened in surprise and then she heard herself laughing. "Do you like it!" she asked, her voice an octave higher than normal.
Kylan chewed the bite of food, his eyes on hers as he did so. She noticed he did that a lot, whenever he tried something new or seemed to have a lot on his mind. He always looked at her, for whatever reason. He swallowed the bite and turned the hot dog around to face her. "Bite." be demanded flatly.
She obliged, angling her head and taking a bite of the hot dog. It was greasy and warm, just like she expected it to be. The taste of the bun, as well as the ketchup and mustard, were nostalgic. It all reminded her of her childhood and the various sporting events she would attend with her father. She chewed and swallowed the food, keeping her eyes locked on Kylan while she did.
He glanced down at her mouth and then reached a finger forward, swiping at the side of her lips and then putting the finger in his mouth. She watched him. her mouth agape in shock. He just licked his finger? After wiping something from her mouth? "Ketchup" he said as a way of explanation. He folded the hot dog back in the foil and then moved to throw it away in a nearby trash can. He looked down at her. "It wasn't terrible."
He looked forward as Oscar pulled the car to a stop in front of her.
She smiled at him while Oscar opened the door for them. Kylan allowed her to enter the car first, as usual, and then he moved in after her. She watched him take off his hat and run his fingers through his thick hair a few times.
"I think that was a successful second date, Sir," she commented, running her fingers through her curls and fluffing them a few times.
Kylan hummed in response, staring out the window with a thoughtful expression on his face. "It wasn't terrible," he repeated his earlier sentiment. She laughed and stared out her own window, surprising herself with how comfortable she felt being in Kylan's presence right now.
Oscar dropped her off at her building, and she turned to say goodbye to Kylan. "I can walk you up," he offered, keeping a hold of her hand after helping her out of the car.
She shrugged her shoulders. "It's not a problem. It's a bit of a walk for you," she responded politely.
Kylan ignored her, instead turning and leading the way into the building. She took the elevator up to her floor and Kylan walked her to her door. She looked at him, not quite letting go of his hand yet. "I suppose it's a proper date, now that you walked me to my door," she musest j d jokingly.
