Chasing My Pregnant Wife

Chapter 1223

Two weeks passed by in a flash.

Life was a living hell for Theodore without his medication. The sleeping pills did help him sleep, but they couldn't soothe his nerves.

He went to the doctor again, who told him this was a withdrawal symptom and he tried to counsel Theodore about it.

Without the support of medication, Theodore found himself spiraling.

Back at home, he was tortured by insomnia. Even the pills failed to help him sleep. In the day, he couldn't concentrate at work no matter how hard he tried. He became even more hot-tempered, irritated by anyone who crossed his path.

In the CEO's office...

Theodore flew into a rage, throwing documents on the floor and scolding some of the senior executives of his team.

"What in the world are you doing?! Useless bums! You can't even do something so minor!"

They were all frightened by Theodore's outburst.

He was seldom so bad-tempered and always behaved very respectably. Even if his subordinates did something wrong, he wouldn't flare up so badly. Recently, however, all of them could sense that something was going very wrong with him.

All they could do was apologize to him and promise that they would correct the situation.

"What's the point?" Theodore yelled at them. "You're just deceiving yourself and others!"

Theodore suddenly felt a dull pain in his chest. He thought of his divorce from Rosalie, and how it was pointless no matter how he tried to correct things.

Everything reminded him of his divorce from her.

Even a sip of water made him think of Rosalie, and each time, he could feel that dull pain in his chest again.

"Scram, all of you! Scram!" Theodore yelled at the top of his voice.

His subordinates picked up the documents on the floor and left his office in a hurry.

The moment the door was opened, the subordinates saw a woman standing right outside. One of them exclaimed, "Mrs. Spencer, what brings you here?"

"I'm no longer Mrs. Spencer. I've divorced Mr. Spencer."

Rosalie's voice sent shock waves through Theodore's system. Before he could make his way to the door, Rosalie had walked in.

She was wearing an elegant gray suit which made her look smart and stunning, and approached Theodore leisurely.

Theodore's menacing face didn't make Rosalie falter.novelbin

bad-tempered. What's going on? Did your temper get worse because of what happened between us? she said calmly.

Theodore looked at Rosalie, still in shock. "Rose, what are you doing here?"

"I want to know why, too. Your father called me here, saying that he has something important to tell me."

Theodore composed himself and said, "Take a seat. Want anything to drink?"

He was ecstatic to see Rosalie, but quickly realized that she must have heard him yelling just now.

Rosalie settled down on the couch and put her bag down. "Just water will do."

Theodore pressed a button on his phone receiver to instruct his secretary to bring in a glass of water.

He then approached Rosalie and explained, "My subordinates made a mistake so I flared up at them. I'm not usually like that."

The grim look on Theodore's face

made Rosalie feel that he didn't look

too good. It looked like he had lost weight, and the sparkle in his eyes was gone. In all, he looked rather haggard.

Her heart was still racing from hearing him yell just now.

"Theo," Rosalie said as she patted the empty chair next to her. "Sit down and let's have a chat."

She had to be calm before him.

Theodore immediately sat down next to her. "Rose, what do you want to talk about?"

His eyes were filled with warm affection when he looked at her.

"Theo, you're still so young. You haven't even hit your thirties yet. The road that lies ahead of you is still so long, and our marriage is just an interlude in your life. I might only be a passerby in your life, too. You should live for yourself."
