Chasing My Pregnant Wife

Chapter 1201

Justin looked around, searching through the room. He occasionally kicked away trash and debris on the floor.

However, all the furniture in the house had been moved out. If the bracelet had been hidden in one of the furniture pieces, it would have been taken as well. If it had indeed been placed in the furniture, it wouldn't have been safe.

Since Rosalie's parents were worried about Laila stealing the bracelet, they must have hidden it in a more secure place.

He gently knocked on the walls.

"Justin, if the bracelet really exists, do you really think my parents would have hidden it at home?" Rosalie asked.

"If the bracelet was valuable, they wouldn't entrust it to someone else. Leaving it lying around at home would only risk Laila stealing it and using it for gambling. I believe if the bracelet exists, it must be hidden in a very obscure place. I have a feeling your parents were cautious people," Justin replied.

"Yes, they were." Rosalie's nose stung as she thought of her parents. "They were diligent and careful, no matter what they did. They lived fully and loved their work, but for some reason, fate treated them so unfairly."

Her head drooped with sorrow. She heard footsteps and looked up to see Justin standing before her.

His palms were covered in dust. He squatted down and looked at her. "Rose, your parents are surely watching over you from above."

"I hope so. If heaven is real, I hope they're there," Rosalie said softly, her gaze drifting to the window.

Justin stood up and resumed searching for the bracelet.

Rosalie hugged Steve tightly, gently kissing his face. "Steve, your grandparents are watching over you, too."

"Grampa... Gramma..." Steve suddenly babbled.

Rosalie was surprised.

"Steve...!" The sorrow in her heart was eased by the sweet sound of her child's voice. "That's right, they're Grandpa and Grandma. You must always remember them."

Steve's innocent, bright eyes sparkled. Rosalie couldn't help but plant several kisses on his face, overjoyed.

Justin stared at Rosalie and Steve, unable to tear his gaze away.

Sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating the dilapidated room. The warm light fell on their radiant smiles, making the scene all the more touching.

Rosalie looked up in Justin's direction, and her unintentional glance met his tender gaze. Her smile stiffened on her face. Afterca few moments of stillness, she lowered her head and continued coaxing Steve, as if trying to avoid the moment.

Justin turned back to continue searching for the bracelet.

After a while, Rosalie walked up behind him. "Justin, why don't you hold Steve for a while? I'll take a look."

Asking for his help made her feel uneasy.

"It's fine. You should sit down for a bit. It's dirty here; you'll get your clothes soiled," Justin replied.

Seeing Rosalie still standing there, he urged, "Go and rest."

Rosalie nodded and turned around. As she did, she accidentally stepped on a wooden plank, losing her balance and tilting sideways.

Justin quickly moved to shield her

from the wall, worried she might hit

it and dirty her clothes. With a thud, Rosalie's back fell into his chest.

Justin's back hit the wall. He was hesitant to touch her with his dusty hands, so he wrapped his arms around her carefully. "Are you okay?"

Rosalie held Steve tightly. Once she steadied herself, she turned to look at him. "I'm fine, thank you. Are you okay?"

Justin nodded. "Yes, but..."

He furrowed his brow slightly.novelbin

"But what?" Rosalie asked.

Justin turned around and knocked on the wall behind him. "I think there's something unusual about this wall."
