Chapter 1192
The private investigator explained his plan. After hearing it, a light bulb lit up in Rosalie's mind.
"That's a novel idea, but I'm just not sure if it'll work."
"Whether it will or not, we should try it out first. But we must first contact the author and see if she agrees to it." Rosalie pondered for a moment. "How about this? Text me the name of the novel and I'll check it out."
During dinner, Rosalie kept hemming and hawing, as if she had something to say to Justin but felt embarrassed about it. Justin could sense something wrong with her and asked, "What's the matter? Do you have something to tell me?" Rosalie pondered for a moment before saying, "I do have something to tell you, but I'm rather embarrassed to say it."
Justin put his fork down, the look on his face turning solemn. "It's fine, just speak your mind. If you want me to leave, I'll go right now..."
"I'm not asking you to leave," Rosalie hurriedly clarified, for fear that he might misunderstand. "I wanted to ask if I could put Steve in your room tonight so you can help take care of him for a while?"
Justin looked stunned. "What?"
"If you're not willing to, that's fine. Let's eat."
Justin had been helping her take care of her and her baby during this period, which was why she was embarrassed to ask him for this favor. She didn't want him to think that she was taking advantage of him.
Justin smiled warmly at her. "That's nothing at all. I'll be fine even if you leave the baby with me every day. You should have a good rest. Steve wakes up easily at night and cries whenever he does. I'm sure he disrupts your rest at night. Leave him to me."
Rosalie's eyes lit up. "Thank you, but it's not because I'm worried that his cries will wake me up. I have something to do and I'm worried I might get distracted with the baby by my side."
Justin looked doubtful. "Are you heading out tonight?"
"Justin, you might laugh at me when I tell you this, but I'm going to read a novel."
Justin was confused. "Read a novel?"
Before she answered him, he flashed her a smile. "No problem, just go ahead. Why would I laugh at you? Isn't it very normal? I read novels during my free time, too."
"I'm not reading the novel because I want to, but because there's something I need to do, so..."
"What's the matter?"
"Nothing," Rosalie said. "I'll tell you after I'm done with it. Please help me to take care of the baby. I'll definitely have to stay up all night tonight." "Sure, leave Steve with me. Don't worry."
"Thank you."
Rosalie felt immensely relieved with Justin around.
At night, Rosalie sat on the bed quietly reading the e-book.
Justin was looking after her baby right next door.
The novel was very long and Rosalie sped-read through it, flipping page after page.
She initially just wanted to find out what the book was about, but she started getting addicted to the
drama and couldn't stop. What'on etnovelbin
more some parts of the plot actually resembled her own experiences.
The author was quite capable of agitating her readers despite the simple plot. An inexperienced writer
wouldn't be able to write so
immersively and incite such
emotions in her readers.
Before Rosalie knew it, it was past midnight. She even managed to read some comments that Angie posted.
Angie used her name as her account name, making it easy for Rosalie to identify her.
As expected, Angie's comments were obnoxious, fully reflective of her foul-mouthed character. There were a few other readers who insulted the author along with her.
These readers initially posted rather
et
ordinary comments, giving their two cents on the story. Subsequently, after being brainwashed by Angie their comments started becoming nastier and nastier and more-
targeted toward the authore
eventually resembling those of Angie's.
