Chapter 152

Chapter 152

"This wedding will not proceed. And as ordered by a founding council member." he looks at Zayn, who nods, but his gaze 1s watching me as I watch my entire world fall apart

"Arrest them!" Greyson orders

Dane tries to speak, to regain control, but the murmurs of the crowd grow louder, their anger turning towards him

"Arrest them," someone shouts from the back, and soon, the call is taken up by others. The officers, previously hesitant, now move forward

As they approach, my father, Samuel, and Dane

Yet as Zayn moves back toward me, he passes Lydia

"And her!" Zayn nods toward Lydia

"What?" Linda stands abruptly. "We had nothing to do with this!" she yells as officers move toward Lydia

"You had nothing to do with this. But your daughter had her mate Deacon attempt to rape Cleo. Everyone here has seen the footage."

"What? That is ridiculous. Why would she do that?" Linda argues, looking red-faced as she peers around. "Right, sweetie?" Linda asks her daughter

"Because Samuel was forcing her to marry Boyd's other son." Maya's voice comes suddenly. Now Lydia stands in outrage of being betrayed by her friend

"You!" Lydia screeches

"Deacon wasn't just your mate, Lydia. You got him killed for that little stunt!" Maya screams at her. Linda looks between the two girls, confused

"Whose mate?" Linda demands

"Deacon!" they both exclaim simultaneously. I blink in shock. Deacon had two mates, and both of them were going to let him rape him?

"All because you thought you could disgrace Cleo and convince her father to hand the pack to you and not her!" Maya snarls

Linda shakes her head in disbelief. "No, no

Lydia wouldn't? Tell them she has it wrong."

"Go on, Lydia," Zayn tells her. "The only reason you aren't dead right now, is because you helped Cleo last night when Boyd tried the same damn

thing," Zayn tells her and I swallow so he did feel itText content © NôvelDrama.Org.

"Maya is willing to testify in court. Lie all you want, but the verdicts are already out." Zayn tells her, pointing to the camera crews set up, catching all this unfolding drama. Lydia falls back into her seat "Lydia?" Linda asks, and she waves her mother off when Linda turns her anger to Samuel. "You were going to sell our daughter off!" she screams, clearly outraged. Samuel cringes at her anger. But it's clear to me that Linda is just as much collateral damage in this as I am

Zayn walks down the aisle, his path clear as the crowd parts for him. Dane roars in anger, stepping forward, but my father, broken and defeated, holds him back when Dane tries to fight the approaching officers. "No, Dane. It's

over."

The cameras capture it all-the truth laid bare for the city to see. As the officers handcuff Dane and Samuel, the room buzzes with the shock of the revelations and corrupt alphas' fall. But amidst the chaos, Zayn moves like a calm storm, his gaze steady on me. By the time he reaches me, I'm shaking, my world shattered around me

He pulls me into his arms, holding me close as he whispers in my ear

"T'm sorry you had to find out this way."

Tears threaten to spill over, and I blink them back hastily. The crowd is a blur around us, a raucous wave of shock and confused anger. My world has shrunk down to this moment. These piercing silver eyes that bore into my soul as I look up at Zayn

The officers continue to round up the guilty parties: my father, Dane, Samuel, and Lydia

The crowd's anger has evolved into buzzing excitement as they watch justice served in real time

My mother's killer, those responsible for my near-rape, the conspirators who tried to steal my pack from me all of them are being led away in handcuffs when they approach Maya. She doesn't argue or fight them, but Zayn turns to look at the officer

"Not her. She has immunity for her testimony, hands off." Zayn tells him. I nod to Maya, and she gives a small smile back and the officer steps away from her

Zayn doesn't leave my side. Instead, he turns me away from the scene unfolding. "This isn't for you to watch." He says in a soft voice. I turn

back to him, his warm embrace sheltering me from the cruel world behind us. I let out a shaky breath and buried my face in his chest

I feel him press a kiss to the top of my head, his heartbeat steady under my ear, soothing me in a way nothing else can

"You're safe now," he murmurs against my hair

a Uy n" You re safe

Linda's exclamations can still be heard above the noise, her pleas for reason falling on deaf ears as she's left alone amidst the chaos-her family taken away, and her reality shattered just as much as mine is
