Chapter 9
Karen POV
I stormed out of his office, and stride angrily to the elevator. How dare he talk to me in that manner, huh? I’ve always heard that handsome guys are always arrogant and mannerless, but I never believed any of those rumors, he just made me believe all of it now, and to think that I’m having a serious crush on him, makes me feel like I don’t have a good taste. I shouldn’t put the whole blames on myself though, I never knew he is like this, and even after knowing now, I don’t think I’ll still stop crushing on him, that’s the crazy and annoying truth.
The elevator door roll opened, and I huffed angrily at nothing, before walking out of it, and headed straight to the exit door. Stepping out of the building, I walked briskly to my car, and opened the door angrily, before hopping in, not after throwing my bag on the seat. I’m so damn angry, never been humiliated this much, in my entire life.
I turned on the ignition, and revised the car, before driving out of the compound, and in the next few minutes, I was on my way, driving back to the company. I keep huffing and hitting my hands on the steering wheel angrily, as I drove down the road, I just couldn’t bring myself to getting everything he said, off my head, he dared to call me a thing, a lunatic. If only he knows how crazy I can be, I’m sure he wouldn’t think of messing with me.
After driving for what seemed like forever, I finally drove into the compound of Ryan empire, and parked at the garage, before alighting from the car. I know he’s so going to be angry, considering the fact that this deal is very important to him, but that’s his business, you aren’t expecting me to fold my arms, and watch some arrogant jerk, insult me, because of some important contract, right?
I counted my steps to the entrance door, before making my way in. I walked through the lobby, and once I got to the hallway that leads to his office, my heart skipped like a million times. The fact that I don’t care what he’s going to say, doesn’t mean I can’t be nervous, right? Once I got to the front of his office, I took a deep breath, before placing a soft knock on the door, while waiting patiently for him to usher me in. I rolled my eyes, and placed a knock on the door again, when I got no reply. Thinking he wasn’t in, I turned around to leave, when his voice finally sounded from inside, and damn! I feel like insulting him. Is he deaf when I’ve been knocking all these minutes? Seriously!
I took a deep breath, while closing my eyes, and rubbing my chest, before I finally held the doorknob and twisted it. I opened the door slightly, and peeked in, to see him leaning on the window, with his gaze, outside of his office. I finally walked inside, and closed the door behind me, before going to stand in the middle of the office, waiting for him to give me attention, so I can explain to him, what happened back there.
“What are you here for? To tell me that the deal has been cut off, huh?”He asked calmly, but with anger, resounding in his voice, as he continued staring outside, not sparing me a glance.
I pursed my lips, and gulped down nothing, while staring down at my shoes, and fondling with my fingers, he must really be angry, I’ve never seen him like this. My boss is one of the nicest people I’ve met so far, but he can really be a crazy type, when he’s angry.
“Sir I…”
“You what?”He cut me off, as he finally turned around to face me, his face, holding so much anger on it, and I couldn’t resist the urge to flinch, the look on his face, is terrifying enough, to scare anyone away.
“You are sorry, isn’t that what you want to say, huh? Must you always be like this, huh? I’ve tried so hard to tolerate you, I’ve always tried not to get affected by anything you do, but the more I tried to, the more you keep pushing me to the wall, and this is the height of it all, you just made me lost a contract worth over fifteen billion dollars, I think that’s what you want, are you happy now?”He scoffed, but I could see the anger and sadness, behind that sarcastic scoff, and slowly, I found myself, drowning in my own guilt.Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
“He… he…”
“He what? I don’t want to hear anything from you! Do you know how much effort, it took me, to get him into doing this business with me? Do you know how long I had to wait, how I had to beg, how I suffered, how much money I’ve invested in this, just to get here? And now that my dream is on the verge of coming true, you chose to shatter everything, for the reason best known to you!”He yelled, as he slammed his hands on the desk, while glaring hard at me, breathing heavily.
I gulped down the lump in my throat, as I turned my face away, a strong wave of guilt, washed through me. I should’ve endured everything, if only I had known things would turn out this way, I wouldn’t have made the mistake of getting affected by anything he said, and now, another person is suffering the consequence, I feel like I’m a bad person.
“Now you listen to me Karen, I’m giving you just one week, to get him to sign the contract with me, and if after that one week, you fail to do it, then be ready to kiss your job goodbye, and pay me back the money I invested. I don’t care how you’re going to do it, but I want it done, or you return all the money. Now get the heck out of my office.”He yelled, while pointing at the door, and I froze on my spot, as his words echoed in my head. Did he just said that…. oh no! I’m doomed!…
