CEO’s Unloved Wife

Chapter 18

He shut his eyes tightly as the water dripped from his face. What the heck just happened? Meanwhile, Mavis stood glaring at him with the glass cup she had emptied the content on his face, in her hand. Well, she had been looking for a way to meet the arrogant young man, and now that she had finally met him, there was no way she was going to let this slide.

After Karen had told her about what happened, though she had never met the man before, she had been looking forward to the day she would finally meet him and teach him a lesson.

“What the heck was that, miss?” He snapped at her angrily, as he finally opened her eyes and she smirked at him. Kingsley just stood watching the whole drama in shock, wondering what his beloved cousin must’ve done to the crazy girl, to deserve the crazy treatment from her.

“You…”

“Mavis!” Karen called surprisingly, rushing over to her where she was standing, but stopped abruptly as she beheld Dylan. What the heck! Her friend had just messed things up for her, and she was so screwed right now.

“What have you done?” She lamented frustratingly and she scoffed.

“Teaching this arrogant bastard a lesson. Who the heck does he think he is, getting my dear friend angry and subjecting her to pain?” She snapped angrily, glaring hard at Dylan who scoffed unbelievably. Now everything was clear to him, it was obvious that Karen had sent her friend to do this to him, and he wasn’t going to let this slide.

“Wow! Now I get this. Did you ask your friend to do this to me? That’s great,” He shook his head and Karen sighed deeply. She knew that there was no way she was going to explain to him, which he would understand, so it was better he just shut her mouth and let things be. The person beside him all this time finally caught her attention, and that was when she had noticed Kingsley. Of course, she recognized him immediately and couldn’t help the scoff that tore through her throat.

“You?” The both of them said at the same time and huffed unbelievably, both wondering how the heck they ended up seeing each other again.

“You know what? You’ll regret this,” Dylan said to Karen, and with that, he stormed out of the restaurant and she sighed softly.

“It’s nice to meet you again,” Kings said, holding out his hand to her for a handshake, but she glared at him and he quickly took his hand away.

“You just messed everything up for me,” Karen huffed, leaving the restaurant while Mavis trailed behind her. It was a bad idea hanging out with her crazy friend in the first place, who knows, this would’ve been avoided if she had stayed at home or come to the restaurant alone.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

After driving angrily for what seemed like forever, she finally stopped in front of Mavis’ house and the young lady needed no one to tell her to come down from the car. Seeing the angry look on Karen’s face, she could only regret her action. If only she had known that something like that was going to happen, she wouldn’t have done what she did back at the restaurant, but it seems like it was already too late to regret her action now.

“Karen, I’m…”

“Just go, please,” She cuts her off and with that, she started her car and drove out of the place. She drove home straight…

Dylan POV

I couldn’t help the continuous scoff that keeps escaping my lips, as I drove home. Gosh! This is the height of it all, that girl got some nerve, she dared to pour a drink on my face, how dare she!

“What the heck is funny about these whole shit, Kings?” I glared at my crazy cousin that was laughing occasionally. There’s nothing funny about this whole shit. After driving for what seemed like forever, I finally got home and jumped out of the car, banging the door behind me.

“You have to calm down, man. You’re taking this too far, it was just a drink and not an acid,” He said sarcastically, trailing behind me as I walked briskly toward the entrance door. This guy is crazy, so I shouldn’t think of whatever shit he’s trying to tell me.

“This would’ve been avoided if you had not forced me out of the office, man,” I scoffed, stepping into the living room and straight to my room. The incident from earlier came replaying in my head, and I could only scoff unbelievably. That girl is so going to pay for the embarrassment.

I stormed into the bathroom to clean myself up and once I was done, I came out, wearing my robe. I met Kingsley sitting on the edge of my bed and I groaned frustratingly. Just what the heck does this dude want now? My uncle must’ve been looking for a way to send me to my early grave, maybe that’s why he decided to send his son down here to frustrate me. You wouldn’t blame me for saying that, will you? Kingsley is a whole bunch of frustration that you won’t want to spend a second of your life with.

“What’s it now?” I asked angrily, sitting down on the dressing chair.

“Nothing, am I not allowed to come inside your room anymore? Anyway, that girl is kind of crazy. Now I understand the saying ‘birds of same feathers flocks together’,” He said and I was forced to glance at him, puzzled. Of course, I didn’t understand what he meant by that.

“What do you mean?” I asked confusingly.

“Well, I ran into the lady on my way to your office earlier today, and trust me, it wasn’t fun at all. You needed to see how she was yelling at me for a little mistake I made like we’ve known each other before. But, how did you get to meet someone as crazy as her?” He asked and I couldn’t help the sigh that tore through my throat. Can this dude just leave me the hell alone? What’s my business with everything he just said?

“Kingsley, you’re here for your uncle and not me, so can you please leave me alone?” I groaned frustratingly and he rolled his eyes.

“Whatever! So tell me, what do you think about that lady? Don’t you think she’s pretty with the perfect body shape and it’ll feel so good to have her in bed?” He said plainly with that usual dirty smirk playing at the corner of his lips. Did I forget to tell you this? Well, I and Kingsley are bad boys, we sleep with ladies a lot and no hard feelings are always attached. The only reason why I haven’t been into it for some time now is because of my dad’s illness and not because I’ve changed. I won’t change, I’m never planning to, never! But that bitch, I’ll never have anything to do with her, and I think Kingsley will be planning his own death by thinking of this shit.

“That’s your problem, deal with it,” I rolled my eyes, and just then, my phone rang, and reaching out to it, a smile laced up my lips…
