Chapter 1184
Nigel lunged forward and shoved Yvonne out of the way just as the beam crashed down. A sharp scream of pain echoed through the room. It had landed directly on his legs.
"Nigel!" Yvonne cried out, terrified. She tried to crawl over to him, but before she could reach him, a piece of wood knocked her unconscious.
When Yvonne came to, she was back in her hospital bed. A bandage was wrapped around her head and the dull ache reminded her of the injury. The first thing that came to mind was Nigel. She immediately tried to get out of bed to find him.
Just as she swung her legs off the bed, Nina walked in. Seeing her trying to get up, she rushed over, gently pushing Yvonne back onto the bed. "What are you doing? You need to rest."
"I need to find Nigel. How is he? Please tell me he's still alive," Yvonne begged, clutching Nina's hands. Tears were streaming down her face, soaking the sheets beneath her.
Nina wiped her tears and soothed her, "He's alive. But seriously, what were you both thinking, going to a place like that? It's an unsafe building. Didn't you see the signs the government put up?"
Yvonne stayed silent. How could she explain? Where would she even start-from Joe, Nigel, or her own failing health?
Nina mistook her silence for embarrassment, assuming it had been some romantic adventure. She gave a teasing smile, "Well, it looks like you two have found true love through adversity. But seriously, if you want to go on dates, don't go to places like that. If you're looking for excitement, there are safer options. If you need suggestions, I can show you some."
Yvonne shot her a tired look and mumbled, "We weren't there for fun. We were looking for a kidney donor, but we got scammed."
"Scammed?" Nina's playful tone vanished, replaced with shock. She sat down beside Yvonne, urging her to explain everything. After Yvonne recounted the events, she quickly made Nina promise not to confront Joe.
But how could Nina let it go? She had been angry with Joe before, and this only added fuel to the fire. Silently, she made up her mind. Once Yvonne had calmed down, Nina excused herself, claiming she needed to check in with the doctor. In reality, she was calling Nash. She explained everything to him, finishing with a direct question. "Can you deal with Joe?"
Nash nodded on the other end of the line. "You shouldn't be stressing yourself out. I'll take care of it."
"I didn't hold him accountable for the
last time Yvonne was hurt. I thought he'd back off, but now he's taken it
too far. Nigel hadn't saved her, Yvonne might not be here. I don't
care what it takes. Joe needs to pay
for this." t
Nina's voice trembled with restrained fury, but she knew she had to keep calm for the baby. "And don't forget about Winona. She's just as guilty."
"Alright, leave it to me. I'll handle it,
Nash assured her, recognizing the seriousness in her voice. they

Furious, Joe smashed his laptop, cursing his employees for being useless.
His assistant cautiously approached, murmuring, "Sir, this seems to be connected to the York Corporation. Should we try talking to Nash?"
"Talk? To beg for mercy? Are you out of your mind?" Joe spat, grabbing the assistant by the collar. "Where's Nigel?"
"He's, uh... across the hall, in orthopedics. On the top floor."
As soon as the assistant finished speaking, Joe threw him to the ground in frustration. He then stormed out, heading straight for Nigel's room. When he arrived, he saw Yvonne sitting by Nigel's bed, and his rage boiled over.
"Well, well. Who would've thought the great Nigel would stoop to such dirty tricks," Joe sneered, walking over with a twisted smile.
He yanked the covers off Nigel and reached for his injured legs.
