Still carries her past memories
Although demons relied on instinct and pull to recognize their mate, Emily wasn’t sure how it happened but as soon as she had laid her eyes on Joel’s video clip, a memory popped into her head.
A rush of emotions swirled in her mind, which had made her eyes glow bright red, and the word ‘mate’ had left her lips on their own.
The memory contained her and Joel during an intimate moment. It switches from different moments in a flash as if those are treasured memories she had forgotten.
But how could that be?
It was hers and Nimalaya’s first time in the human realm, and she never had a mate before coming, not that they could be blessed with more than one in a lifetime anyways.
It felt absurd to her.
She shook off the memories, believing it to be signs of recognizing her mate.
She recalled the day she had met the witch.
******
Nima had just strolled out to feel fresh air before returning to the one she found comfortable.
Maybe due to Gama’s patience and support during the time she was desperate to have her other half, who had been bestowed upon her by fate.
She just felt repulsed by everyone and everything. That feeling only surfaced after she had given up on ever finding her mate.
She preferred to be around Gama, whom she neither liked nor disliked, but somehow, he had become the only person she had.
She cherished him, not out of love, but the company. He was always there, and she couldn’t imagine how heartbroken she would be each passing day if Gama hadn’t been in her life.
She hadn’t walked too far when a bright golden light illuminated a few distance from her.
She stood still, knowing it must be the work of a witch.
Heck! They must have thought she was an easy catch, but had they been wrong?
Oh yeah.
Maybe because she never joined Gama in dealing with demons and other species of darkness that crossed them.
She waited for the person to appear and burn whoever it was with her eternal blue fall that couldn’t be extinguished by anything.
She couldn’t explain why, but as soon as the figure appeared from the magic circle, Nimalaya felt her demon crawl under her skin as if wanting to consume her and completely took over.
Her demon was very sensitive to the witch as if the witch had done something that had shattered her heart. As if the witch was the one who cursed her to not have a mate.
Nimalaya couldn’t explain it and just gave it her own meaning while suppressing her demon, who had been tamed quickly because it seemed to be as confused as Nimalaya.
“I’m Kira.” The witch had said, but Nimalaya could tell she sensed her animosity towards her, based on how she took a few steps back and stared at her intensely.
“Scram. I don’t know why, but I feel so angry towards you. Don’t make me rip you apart, so just go.” Nimalaya said to the witch and tried to leave.
“Aren’t you curious if you have a mate?” Kira asked and saw the body of Nimalaya stiffened.
When she turned around, her eyes were blazing red, while a blue flame began to dance on her palm.
“I told you to scram!” She had warned.
The witch looked horrified, and then determination overshadowed her fear.
“I saw a vision. I can take you to where your mate is. He existed. You’re blessed with one.” Kira said quickly like her life depends on it, and in an instance, the scary girl had become vulnerable and with a shivering tone, “I want one. I feel incomplete without one.”
Kira nodded in understanding, being aware that Nimalaya still carried her emotions in her past life. Hence, she became sensitive. It was more scary that she couldn’t explain what was making her feel like that.
Gesturing for Nimalaya to follow her, Kira took her for a walk and explained to her how her mate is a human.
Nimalaya hadn’t thought twice before begging to be taken there.
Kire proceeded to tell her how she would lose her powers if she went to the human realm, but there is a solution that would help her experience human ways and still have her demon by her side.
The demon would be transferred into a human as its vessel and carry their memories, while Nimalaya would have to live as a human oblivious to who she was, because only then would she encounter her mate, because no matter what, fate will bring them together.
Once the vessel dies, the demon would instantly go back to Nimalaya’s body, and her memories as a demon would merge. She would be Nimalaya, a demon once again, and who knows what would happen.
Demon could get head over heels for their mate at a few glances, but their mate being a human is not so favorable, because even if they get attracted to them, it doesn’t mean they would be in love with them.
They might even resist the bond if they lose interest. Humans would just shrug it off and think they don’t fit, but it was a whole different case for a demon.
It might go on a rampage.
Nimalaya detested people near her. Hence, the split and her demon being separate from her is a good idea.
Who knows if her temperament would chase away her mate or create a rift between what they could build.
All this was done secretly without Gama’s knowledge.
Nimalaya felt it would be unfair to tell him she found her mate before leaving. It’s better to make him think she’s dead or just disappeared.Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.
….
Back at the present.
Emily, being the vessel that contained Nimalaya’s demon, felt upset on the inside but still maintained her composure to keep Nima interested in their mate.
She can not confuse Nima by telling her who they were. The only thing that would make sense was Emily dying and the demon consciousness returning to Nima’s body.
Then, Nima would recall her life as a demon and know that this man must be claimed at all costs.
But it was from that moment Nima would start to lose her demonic power little by little.
Emily had slept with a lot of men, being a creature of darkness, lust, and desires. She could do as she wanted.
She had hypnotized humans and drank some of their blood to quench her hunger.
Everything would surely be different with their mate, and not being able to be in Nima’s body and be with their mate together is like torture.
More than ever, Emily wants to forgo the risk and kill the body she resided in to go back to Nima.
Then, they can have Joel together.
