Chapter 0207
Chapter 0207
Jessica was at a loss for how to inquire further, given the strict privacy protection for residents in the villa complex.
Amelia, sensing her hesitation, stepped forward eagerly: “Excuse me, dear guard, we're three ladies living alone, and we’re just a bit concerned about this man. What does he do? Is there any danger? Considering we’re all in aviation and keep odd hours, it would be worrying to bump into him at night, right?”
The guard chuckled reassuringly, “Don't worry, there’s nothing to fear. The gentleman from across has just returned from abroad and seems to be in the same profession as you.”
"In aviation?" Amelia was genuinely surprised. "Oh, I didn’t get a good look at his face. He couldn’t possibly be a former colleague, could he?"
"Which company were you with before?"
"Just a small one."
The friendly guard shook his head with a smile, “No worries, he’s with Air China. Rest assured, the security here is of the highest standard.”
"Thank you so much!" Amelia, sweet and charming, never had trouble winning people over.
Walking back, Amelia was deep in thought.
Someone from Air China, huh?
Why hadn’t she heard of such a striking individual at Air China before?
Could he be from management instead of flying?
Deciding to leverage her vast social network and immense social skills, Amelia was determined to find out everything about this handsome neighbor!
"Do you realize what you look like right now, Amelia?" Jessica sneered.
Amelia pondered for a moment, "An earthbound fairy?"
"Nonsense!" Jessica retorted, "You look like a seasoned flower thief!"
"Ah, that’s not incorrect," Amelia admitted.
Indeed, she wanted to pluck this handsome bloom.
She began scouring through various industry-related chat groups, checking W******p and F******k profiles, though some were private and inaccessible.
Then, she reached out to the manager of her previous airline’s cabin crew team to inquire about this mysterious Air China hunk.
"Hey."
It took two tries for Jessica to get Amelia’s attention, snapping her out of her fervor.
"What's up?"
"Check our work group chat."
Frank had just posted a work update, announcing a technical exchange conference between Air China and the Civil Aviation Authority starting next Monday. It would last for seven days.
Each department was to send five volunteers; those uninterested would wait for Frank to announce the chosen ones by Sunday.
Amelia nearly dropped her phone, "Me, me, me, me!!!"
Too excited to type, she resorted to a voice reply in the W******p work group.
Frank: ...
Frank: When have you ever been this enthusiastic?
Amelia (Cabin Crew Chief, Team Six): Technical exchange is an opportunity to improve oneself and contribute to the company. As the Team Six chief, I must set an example for my crew~~~
With that, the other cabin crew chiefs grudgingly volunteered too.
Amelia didn't care if she stepped on toes — finding that handsome man was her priority!
"Are you going?"
The specifics behind this technical exchange, negotiated between the Civil Aviation Administration and Air China, remained a mystery.
What was there really to exchange?
Wasn't it all just a dance of probing and posturing?
The steward team quickly selected their five, and so the flight crew, ground operations, and technical departments had to nominate theirs.
Madison blinked, "Do I need to go?"
Ethan hesitated before divulging the truth, "The Civil Aviation Administration specifically requested you and Old Song to attend."
After all, they were pilots who'd just earned their S-class licenses — essential for a technical exchange.
But if Madison wasn’t keen, Ethan could easily decline on her behalf.
Not wanting Ethan to change protocols for her, Madison accepted, "Then I'll go. Do I need to prepare anything?"
“Nothing at all. Just get ready to...” Ethan's gaze drifted to the bed before he started unbuttoning his shirt.
Madison's cheeks warmed slightly.
...
After their tumble, darkness had fallen.
The days in Slandon Harbor grew unforgivingly short in winter, darkening as early as six o'clock.
Tired, Madison managed to get up, thankfully after Ethan had helped her with a bath; she was simply too exhausted otherwise.
"Why get up if you're tired? Just stay in bed," Ethan looked surprisingly refreshed.
Madison shot him a glare, "I still need to fill out the registration form."
"Where is it?"
"I last saw it in the car," Madison replied, not having brought it inside.
Ethan called down to have it brought up.Property © 2024 N0(v)elDrama.Org.
Soon, the form was in Ethan's hands. He pulled a chair to the desk, picked up a pen, and began to write.
Madison was astonished, "You're writing it for me?"
Without turning, Ethan responded, "Yeah, you relax. I ask, you answer."
"Okay." Madison then rested, content.
But when Ethan didn't prompt her for answers, she grew curious, "Why aren't you asking me anything?"
"Name, age, gender, marital status, health, interests, preferred aircraft models, flying experience, flight certificate level. Which of these do I not know?"
So he didn't need to ask at all.
Madison smiled silently.
Ethan's handwriting starkly contrasted with Madison's.
Hers was neat, with a touch of elegance and grandeur. Ethan's, however, was more flamboyant, its bold strokes betraying his assertive nature.
He filled out the form briskly, but paused at the last section.
Life motto and aspiration?
What sort of registration form asked for life mottos and aspirations?
Ethan was tempted to ask who designed this form.
He intended to write on Madison's behalf, but she had fallen asleep.
After some thought, Ethan penned a line in his distinct, confident script.
Madison was blissfully unaware.
It was only on the third day of the technical exchange that she found out.
When collecting the forms on Wednesday, Frank's mouth twitched at the sight of Madison's submission, and the assistant and recorder struggled to suppress their laughter.
Flicking the form, Frank mused, "This handwriting, unmistakably President Grant's."
President Grant had filled out Captain Madison's form.
Life aspiration: Marry Ethan soon.
Life motto: Strive for a lifetime to pilot the grandest aircraft.
Such straightforward dreams and mottos.
Except...
President Grant, despite leading a major corporation, could improve on his cultural literacy, right?
Frank sighed, "Just submit it, and let's keep it within ourselves."
If word got out about the Chairman of Mukino International’s lack of sophistication, it would be scandalous.
Yet Ethan was quite pleased with his handiwork.
Writing's purpose is to communicate — the most succinct words conveying the clearest intentions represent true excellence.
That’s why Ethan loathed long-windedness.
And so, that he and the chatterbox Michael were brothers was one of Mukino International's great mysteries indeed.
