Breaking The Routine

Chapter 16 Epilogue

Chapter 16 Epilogue

One year later in Indianapolis...

Sam sighed as the hot water rushed over her. All the exam questions and her answers running through her mind, some she was sure she got right, others she knew she got wrong, but what was killing her was the majority of the questions which she wasn't sure if she had answered wrong or right. Her stomach twisted on itself with nervousness and the fear of her failing the exam was growing.

Only when the water turned ice cold and she started to shiver did Sam step out of the shower. "Relax Sam, just forget about it," she whispered to herself as she wrapped a towel around her but her body didn't listen to her. She dressed in her t-shirt and pajama pants even though it was only six in the evening. She snuck to her bedroom so she wouldn't disturb David while he was working. She grabbed her text book and flipped through the pages looking for the answers to the questions she was unsure about.

Sam jumped awake when her text book was removed from her hands. "Are you still freaking out over the exams Sam," David asked her with a hint of a smile. She rubbed her face sleepily and stretching her stiff limbs.

"I am not freaking out," she insisted. "I am concerned that's all, I don't think I did very well," Sam admitted and David wrapped his arms around her and pulled her towards him till her back was against his chest.

"You always say that Sam but this year will be just like the last and you will ace all of them," he told her sounding very confident but she didn't feel it. He nuzzled against the back of her neck causing the tension in her shoulders to ease and a small smile on her lips. "Sam, I have something very important I need to talk to you about," he stated sound serious.

"Of course David, is it serious? Something wrong," Sam asked starting to worry.

"Yes Sam, it's very serious," he told her and Sam's stomach started to twist. "We've been together now for a year," he started and Sam bit her lip as her concern increased. "It been great but I think it's time for a change," he stated and Sam bit harder into her lip. She simply nodded for him to continue while her breath caught in her throat. She knew it was going to come sooner or later, she knew it, he was breaking up with her!

"Sam," David said and she closed her eyes waiting for the words she knew he was going to say next. "I don't want you to be my girlfriend anymore," he told her and Sam felt as if she had just been stabbed in the chest. "I want you to be my fiancé, Sam will you marry me," he asked. Her eyes shot open and the breath she had been holding rushed out.

"What," she asked feeling truly confused doubting she heard him correctly. David laughed softly placing a little black box on the nightstand in front of her. Inside was a small, simple, yet very elegant ring of white gold and a sparkly clear stone.

"Marry me Sam," he repeated with laughter in his voice. Sam frowned realizing he had played her, he knew she would think he was going to break up with her.

"David Andrews," she scowled turning around and giving him a slap on the arm. "That was extremely uncalled for," she demanded and he gave her a "who me" look with an evil smile. "I can't believe you," she scolded slapping him again. "I should say no for just that," she told him and David simply smiled at her pulling her on top of him till she was straddling him.

"Nah, you won't do that," he told her and she continued to frown at him.

"Oh really and how can you be so sure," she snapped glaring at him.

"Because I know for a fact," he started sitting up and placing his hands on her hips. "That from day one you, Sam, have never been able to say no to me," David told her with a cocky expression giving her a quick peck on the lips. "Marry me Sam," he stated again. She glared at him

"No," she replied pushing him back on the bed getting up and leaving the bedroom.

"Awe come on Sam," David called to her but she kept walking down the thin hallway.

"Very funny Sam but I know you don't mean it," he stated following her. Sam turned around with a serious expression.

"Oh but I do," she replied coldly turning on her heel and continuing her path into the kitchen. Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.

"Okay, okay I get it. I am sorry for the way I asked you. Now seriously Sam," he said still following her. She turned on her heel once more giving him a hard look.

"I am serious David," she told him and quickly turned. His downfallen face clearly stated he was taking her seriously now. A small smile appeared on Sam's lips as she was enjoying her revenge. Samantha Peters was a good girl, but she was quickly learning how to be bad.

"Why not Sam," David asked with a heartbroken tone and Sam turned to him and smiled.

"That was actually easier than I thought," Sam told him her smile growing and he gave her a confused look then got a hopeful expression.

"You're not being serious," he asked with a smile and she shook her head side to side.

"Of course not David, how could I say no to you!" Sam replied and he gave her a scolding look with a large smile.

"Damn woman that was cruel," he told her holding his hand over his heart and she gave him a quick kiss.

"Well you making me think you were going to dump me wasn't exactly nice either," she shot back.

"You should have seen right past that Sam," he told her wrapping his arms around her and pulling her against him. "Because you should know by now that I can't live without you," he told her giving her a quick kiss before dashing off back into the bed room. Sam watched him curiously then smiled when he returned with the ring. "No more games, Sam will you marry me," he asked her getting down on one knee and everything. She could feel her cheeks warm.

"Yes, David I will marry you," she replied with a large smile on her face that somehow grew even more as he slipped the ring on her finger.

"I love you Sam, my future wife," he told her getting up.

"I love you too David, my future husband," she replied and David pulled her against him giving her an intense and mind-blowing kiss.
