Boyfriend For Rent

Chapter 40 Dilemma

Ivan POV

Can’t believe that I’ve been swimming for hours now nonstop. My competition is soon, and hence, I have to train as hard as I can, to win the competition.

“That was great.” Captain Rooney clapped his hands, as I climbed out of the pool, with my body dripping wet. My energies are drained already, and if I had spent one more minute in that pool, then I’ll collapse.

“You’re always the best buddy.” Alex teased me, and I rolled my eyes at him, while breathing heavily. I’m so damn tired, I can’t just wait to get home, and get some rest. Since I won’t be having training in the morning tomorrow, I’m going to sleep until evening.

“Stop flattering me.” I rolled my eyes again, as I dragged my tired feet to where my bag was hanging on the wall, and got hold of it, before bringing out a bottled water from inside it, and took a sip from it.Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.

“Ivan you have a guest.” Alex’s voice came on, and I sighed softly, before turning around to ask who it was, or was it one of his pranks, but I almost froze on my spot, as I was welcomed with the least expected person, Mia! What the heck is she doing here?

“Hi!” She smiled at me, while waving at me.

“Hi!” I managed to reply her, after a few seconds. My eyes darted to Alex, who had a foolish smile on his face, and I gave him an annoying glare, before turning my attention to Mia, whose eyes were all over me, and that was when I remembered that I haven’t wore anything on my body, just my swim trunk.

“Excuse me.” I said, and grabbed my bag, before making my way to the dressing room. Stepping into the room, I met my colleagues, changing their clothes, and I joined them in changing mine too. After I was done, I hung my bag on my shoulder, and wore my sunglass, before walking back to the natatorium, where I met Mia and Alex, talking about what I don’t know.

“Oh you’re here.” She looked at me and smiled.

“Yeah.” I replied simply.

“I was just talking to Alex about you. Anyways, you look as cute as always.” She said, not letting that smile fade from her face. Can someone just tell this girl that I know I’m handsome? What the heck is she doing here, huh?

“Ok… So, why are you here?” I asked coldly, with a deep frown on my face, enough to tell her that she’s not welcomed. Why the heck does she have to come here of all places, knowing a lot of my friends will be here? Is she trying to make people think otherwise of us or something?

“Oh sorry if I bothered you, I just came to say hi.” She smiled, and I sighed frustratingly.

“Alright.” I said, and with that, I started walking towards the exit door, while she followed me behind. Can’t she just leave me the hell alone now? She’s just trying to frustrate me, and I’m not in for that now, I need to get home and rest.

Stepping out of the company, I walked over to the parking lot, ignoring her, while she didn’t stopped following.

“Ivan can you please wait up?” She called after me, as she hurried and stood in my way. Ok what does she wants now?

“What do you want Mia?” I asked frustratingly, as I sighed.

“Ivan I’m sorry if I hurt you, I promise, it won’t happen again, ok? I love you Ivan… I want us to be together… just please give us a chance.” She said, as she held my hand.

“Mia you’re making this difficult than it is already… I understand the fact that you love me, but I am no longer sure of how I feel about you, I don’t know if I still love you like I used to, I don’t want us to make the big mistake of being together, while we’re not sure of how we feel towards each other…”

“It’s fine Ivan… I understand, but we could make this work, you know? We could give it a time, I don’t care about how you feel about me, I know with time, you’ll find your feelings for me again, I just want us to be together.” She said, as tears welled up her eyes.

“If your sister is the problem here, I promise, I’ll do everything, to make her like me, I’ll apologize to her, I’ll make things right, I know she hates me, but it’s just for a matter of time Ivan… Let’s give this a chance please, let’s make this work again.” She pleaded, and I sighed confusingly. I don’t know what to do, I don’t know if giving her a chance again, would be a good idea, I don’t know if I’ll realize my feelings for her with time.

“We’ll see some other time Mia, I need to go home and rest, I’m tired.” I said, and with that, I hopped in my car, and turned on the ignition, before driving out of the compound. It’s already late, I know everybody must be at home now.

Driving on the road, my thought were filled with Mia’s words. As much as I want to give this a chance, I still feel it’s not worth it, we’ve been away for so many years, without communication, and slowly, I lost my feelings for her, getting it back now, is really going to be difficult.

After driving for what seemed like forever, I finally turned to the direction that lead to my house, and after a few minutes drive, I finally got to the front of our gate, which was wide opened as always.

Driving into the compound, I parked at the garage, and stepped out of the car, before closing the door. Looking around the place, I saw Nathan and Nora’s cars at the parking lot as expected, they’re home. Wondering how Nora got a car? Well I got it for her, after I got paid for a job well done for Miss Becky.

Letting out a soft sigh, I made to go inside, when something caught my attention, Eve’s car was missing out. Wait! Is she not home yet?…
