Chapter 55 "The Proposal"
Chapter 55 "The Proposal"
Seeing Gavin being lazy, I was a little unhappy and said. "If you are that tired, you can rest inside. The
bonfire party is about to start outside. Let me go and watch the show first!"
Gavin said,"How can we do it! We are a couple, so what's the matter if we don't go out together?"
I thought about what happened two days ago, when he got a fright in order to protect me, my heart
softened and I said softly: "It doesn't matter. Our relationship is firm. We are not afraid of others'
opinions. Besides, I just want to go out and have a look. It's not far away. It doesn't matter."
Gavin thought for a moment and agreed, he said, "Then you go first, and I'll follow you right away!"
I quickly waved my hand. "No, wait until you're ready to come out. Or maybe I'll feel bored and come
back. Don't exhaust yourself for me anyway."
Gavin agreed, I held the camera and ran out first. The location of the bonfire party was not far away,
which was in a relatively large square in the center of the village.
I heard that this square is only attended by out-of-town tourists like us, because it was held almost
every day, and the locals had long been bored with it. Those who came to participate were all out of
curiousity, or just like me, to take pictures. So not many people came, but it was quite lively.
In addition to barbecues at the bonfire party, there was also the kind of open-air KTV, which was a
simple entertainment in which a projector was pulled and a microphone was connected to sing. I took a
few photos outside of the crowd by myself, and didn't go inside. One was because I am alone now, and
the other was because I was pregnant.
Just when I was still staring at the ball of flames that had been sealed off. A man beside me suddenly
patted my shoulder and said, "Hi, are you here alone?"
Realizing that it was a young man with some student-like features, I replied friendly. "Yeah, I'll come out
alone and take a walk. I'll be back soon."
The man said, "It seems that you have been standing alone for a long time. It seems boring. Why don't
you sing a song?"
I immediately refused. In this kind of KTV, the singer would charge you based on one song, which
would cost you ten yuan or twenty yuan. I had no interest in this kind of entertainment, and now this
man was doing business for me. Of course I would refuse him.
But the man said reluctantly, "Come on, it's okay. I'll treat you."
When I thought I could be invited to sing, I began to wonder what this man was up to. But I realized that
this man was not the owner of the KTV! The owner of the KTV was an old man! He was watching us
with interest!
At the thought of the man's awkward expression, I immediately understood what was going on. I
quickly smiled and said, "I'm sorry. I have..."
But before I could finish my words, the music began to play directly on the white cloth over there, and RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
then a familiar voice sounded. I smiled and took the microphone from the young man, "I can sing this
song." Then I walked towards the direction of Gavin.
Upon seeing this, the man immediately understood what had happened. He probably felt embarrassed
and disappeared from the party. After the song was over, Gavin held me and said, "It seems that you're
doing well. Even such a young man is chasing you!"
I raised my head and said, "Of course. Otherwise, Mr. Stone would have thought that no one would
wants me!"
Gavin scratched my itch and said, "You're in the wrong. Humph, see how I'll punish you."
I was still outside, surrounded by people. I saw a fire burning in Gavin's eyes. I didn't know if it was the
reflection of the flickering fire blown by the wind. In short, I was fascinated by the fire in his eyes.
Gavin touched my cheek and said softly, "Let's go back." I nodded and we returned to the inn together.
Perhaps because I had not been close to him for days. I always felt that Gavin was very hard this time.
He held me so tightly, as if I would disappear as soon as he let me go.
I touched the back of his head. Suddenly, my mind went blank. I couldn't even control myself and
blurted out, "I love you." I didn't know if Gavin had replied, but he finally called out someone's name,
buried in my neck. I guess it was mine. Unfortunately, I didn't hear it clearly.
The short-term travel ended quickly, and we all felt very happy. After returning home, Gavin always
teases me about the men I met that day, and I always get annoyed when I heard them numerous times.
It was just nothing, and everyone would be impatient.
When it was night time, I still hadn't calmed down. Hugging my arms, I lay on the side playing with my
phone. Gavin carefully lifted the blanket and sat down beside me for a while. Suddenly, he took out a
small box and said. "This is for you. Do you like it?"
I snorted, but didn't do anything. Gavin opened the box and put it in front of me with a sigh. I looked
inside and saw a beautiful diamond ring with a biggest diamond on it. Although it was not as
exaggerated as the pigeon egg on the necklace last time. But I still can't help having a headache.
I said angrily, "Why are you giving me this?"
Gavin thought for a moment and said, "I’m proposing!"
I was a little speechless, "Please, boss. There's nothing here, only an exaggerated diamond ring. What
kind of proposal is that?"
Gavin said, "Your requirements for marriage are too high. My former girlfriend wouldn't be like this."
I sat up straight, looked at Gavin and asked, "How many women have you proposed to?"
Gavin quickly pretended to beg for mercy. "No, my former girlfriends all surrendered when she saw this
diamond ring. She didn't care if I proposed or not."
I snorted, "Serves you right!"
Gavin felt wronged and said, "Do you want it or not?"
"I don't want an ugly proposal ring. I can't take it out at all !" In fact, the ring was not ugly at all. Besides,
even if it was ugly, it was diamond. In the eyes of other women, it was dazzling. But I don't like it,
because it was really not suitable to take it out, especially for an office worker like me.
Gavin had no choice but to say, "Well, I'll change a ring next time when I propose. You take this as a
souvenir. When I say something wrong next time, you can wear this as a reminder for me."
Thinking for a moment, I found it interesting, so I took it directly to my hand. Gavin was surprised and
said, "You kept the ring, but you still haven't calmed down?"
I said, "No! And I have decided that I won't take this down until I cool down!"
