CHAPTER TWENTY ONE
“What do you mean by saying he is your boss, Tina?” Nicole asked me furiously.
“I went for an interview today, just to find out that the man I threw up on and prayed to God never to let me get in contact with is the owner of the company where I went for an interview, and he was the last person to attend to me, he was the last person to interview me, and he gave me the job,” Tina answered as she looked up at Nicole, and while I was still crying.
“What!” Nicole exclaimed.
My heart ached a lot, it ached so badly, but I had no option because I had already signed the contract.
“Today is the last day you are going to set your eyes on me, ever again,” I said as I got up and slowly walked towards my room, and Nicole immediately followed behind me once I got up.
“What do you mean by saying today is going to be the last day I will see you?” Nicole asked me, but I did not answer her, rather, I kept on moving toward my room.
Then she pulled me back with full force.
“Tina, talk to me. I am your best friend, I am like a sister to you, so please tell me the reason why you made that statement?”
“Do you not think about my feelings?” Nicole asked me as I saw tears flowing from her eyes towards her chin.
I was so angry seeing the tears in her eyes that when she asked me for an explanation, saying she was my best friend and was like a sister to me, I felt like I was stabbed in the chest and I could not bear that pain.
Then I hugged her so tightly and cried so much that we cried in each other’s arms, and this has never happened before.
We had never been separated like this, and this is going to happen because of that devil, who is currently my boss, Mr. Gavriel.
Remembering all these, the tears could not help but keep on falling freely as I patted Nicole’s back and pulled away from her, then I held her hands.
“Nicole, I signed a contract today that my boss, Mr. Gavriel, gave me, it was my only option to get the job I have been seeking for a long time now, and you know that if I told you what was in the contract I signed, you would end up hating that man,” I explained to Nicole as I kept on holding her hands.
“Ok, I promise not to hate him, but please tell me what was in the contract you signed?” Nicole pleaded.
“I signed a contract that stated that I would be his secretary, alongside his house help, but the most painful thing is that I would be his submissive, I am indebted to him for eternity, Nicole,” I said to Nicole.
As I said it, her eyes widened with shock.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
“What!” Nicole exclaimed.
“That is not a punishment, that is wickedness he wants to use you as his prey,” Nicole added.
“Nicole, I had no other option but to sign it, the contract stated that I would be paid for it,” I explained to her.
“See, look at me,” I said as I raised her head so she could look at me.
“I would be paid $180, 000 every month, you see, that is a huge amount of money,” I told Nicole as her face broadened with shock at hearing the amount of money I will be receiving just for that job.
“But the truth is that money was nothing to compare with the fact that I was going to be submissive to my boss.”
“One hundred and eighty thousand dollars, did I hear you well, Tina? Even at that, you submitted yourself, your body to him. For God’s sake, you are now submissive to your boss, and you are telling me that he is going to pay you for that. Is he going to pay you if he maltreats you?”
“The answer is no, and you are talking about the money, gosh, Tina. I cannot believe you, how could you make such a hasty decision?” Nicole complained, and I understood her point of view, but it is already too late because I had already signed the contract.
There was no going back.
Not now, not ever.
“Nicole, hI am promising you that if I work there for a year, I will definitely have saved a lot of money, and then I will send him my resignation letter and hire a lawyer to help me break the contract I signed with him.”
“Please do not get upset with me, you know I need this job right?” I promised Nicole that, and I hoped that I kept the promise because Mr. Gavriel said I would be indebted to him for eternity.
‘God, you said there would always be a way out of any depressing situation, please lead me to the road I can take to get out of this filthy mess I put myself into, let you will be done in my life.’ I prayed to God in my heart, and I knew he heard my prayers because they came from the deepest part of my heart.
“Are you sure you can keep this promise?” Nicole asked because she remembered Tina saying that she was indebted to him for life.
She would not want her friend to do anything that would put her in trouble.
“I do not know, but I know I will try my best to keep the promise, okay?” I assured Nicole.
“I am not angry at you, it is just that I want you to be fine, I do not want you to get hurt, and I understand how much you need this job. You just have to remember that I will always be here for you whenever you need me, okay?” Nicole said to me as I saw tears welling up in her eyes.
