Chapter 26 A Lesson to Susie
Chapter 26 A Lesson to Susie
"Tina, what are you looking for?" Jane walked up to her and spoke suddenly.
Tina was startled. Tina looked up. The expression on her face was momentarily startled, but he quickly
recovered.
She smiled sheepishly, as if she had lost something. "I am missing a piece of the document. Did I put it
together when I gave you the documents yesterday? I could not find it, no matter how hard I tried."
"Yesterday's documents are here. I have already sorted them out. I did not see anything additional."
Jane pointed to the folder she had just turned over. By now she was a mess and her face was pale.
Tina suddenly slapped her forehead as if remembering something and said, "I remember. Perhaps I left
it in the tea-room. I'll have a look. You'd better hurry. These files are for the morning meeting. They are
all important reports from different departments."
"Okay, I got it."
After watching Diana leave, she cleaned up the mess on the table.
Jane sent all the documents demanded by the meeting. After that, she left first.
But no sooner was the meeting over than Susie went for Jane angrily with the report.
Without a word, she threw the entire folder directly into Jane's face. "Jane, are you kidding me?"
Jane didn't know what had happened, but she was poked in the corner of the eye by the edge of the
folder. She felt great pain and tears broke out uncontrollably.
"Do not fool yourself. Just see how you work. I only said a few words to you yesterday about the wrong
files. Today, the reports from all departments are in order, but only two pages of mine are missing and
there are traces of whiteouts. Jane, did you do this on purpose?"
Susie pointed at Jane and scolded her. Her voice was so loud that almost everyone in the secretarial
department could hear it.
Everyone crowded to watch the fun. Everyone knew the love triangle between Susie , Jane and Larry.
Of course, when they saw this time that Mrs. Reed was against Jane, they were not surprised.
"Mrs. Reed, I do not have to do anything like that. The documents have been sorted out by me. If
there's a problem, I have to be responsible for it. Why should I do anything harm to myself?" Jane was
helpless, and the tears were still flowing.
Susie seemed to know she was going to say that, so she snorted and said, "You mean other people in
the company are deliberately against me? Or have I nothing to do, and make trouble for myself, and
made such a report? Set a thief to catch a thief."
Jane was scolded by her. She wanted to retort something, but she knew that you can not win with a
loud voice. So she bore it, after thinking it over.
She remembered that Tina had been looking for something in her seat that morning. She turned her
head and looked at her, and found that there was something wrong with her face.
Tina seemed to notice that she was looking at her, so she immediately turned her face away, obviously
not daring to look her directly in the eye.
"What are you looking at? It's your fault now. Don't expect me to come back to save you. I am telling
you I am going to a meeting at the client company. You'd better give me an explanation. Otherwise, it
will not do any good even if my cousin comes back today."
Susie pinched her waist and scolded Jane. She had expected Jeffery to be unable to protect this
woman today, so she dared to be so arrogant.
Jane certainly understood the meaning of her words. "A tiger and a monkey in the mountains call
themselves kings?"
She would choose the time to find fault again and again. Jane did not want to haggle over with her. But
at this rate, even if Jeffery protected her, she would be tormented by Susie and sooner or later she will
leave the company.
Jane wiped hrt red and swollen eyes with a damp cloth. Jane calmly replied, "In that case, you should
check the monitor. There are cameras in every corner of the company. You can just check and know
everything."
"Check the surveillance video? It's been so long since yesterday. Who knows where you did it? If you
did not do it at the company, we are not going to do anything today but accompany you to look at the
surveillance video?"
Susie scolded him arrogantly. Unless she nodded, Jeffery was not here anyway. No one would help
Jane investigate the surveillance.
Jane felt that his eyes seemed to swell, and dared not open them too wide. She wanted to get to the
hospital and not waste time talking to this group of people. "Then call the police. They'll take the
surveillance footage."
Susie was clearly stunned.
Her face froze and she glanced behind Jane. Obviously she did not have enough confidence. "This is a
confidential company document. Should we call the police? Are you going to give away the company
secret?"
"However, I did not do it. Could you please let me go? You have hurt my eyes. I need to go to the
hospital." Jane picked up his bag and was about to leave, but Susie stopped him as he stood in front of
her.
"If you do not give me an explanation today, no one can leave." Susie took hold of Jane's arm. It was
not easy for him to find an opportunity to just let people get away.
Jane tried to escape, but many of his colleagues would definitely help Susie if they really made a fuss.
Just as she was getting worried, Jeffery appeared at the elevator door. "Susie, what are you doing?"
Hearing the voice, they all realised that the President had returned at some point. By this time he had
walked up to Jane and pulled her behind him. He rebuked Susie directly without asking her anything.
"While I am not in the company, what have you done to bring shame to the Jones family?"
"Cousin, you must ask clearly. Do not you know what happened in the meeing this morning about the
report of deparment? She did all those things. If I do not look for her, who else am I going to look for?" Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
Susie was embarrassed to be scolded in public, but she would not let Jane go so easily and demanded
justice.
Jeffery did not even look at Susie. His whole gaze was fixed on Jane's eyes.
He frowned, reached out, and slowly took Jane's hand, which covered his eyes.
Jane's eyes were red and swollen. Jeffery looked at her, and the anger in his eyes grew heavier.
He stared coldly at Susie, then turned and asked gently, "Does it hurt?"
Jane nodded slowly, without saying anything.
"Susie, did I say that Jane is my secretary, and that her duty is only to serve me? You or anyone else is
not qualified to give her orders in the company." Jeffery snorted icily. "I did not accuse you of ordering
my people, but you dare to bring trouble for my secretary?"
"Cousin, I..."
"Don't say more. If something goes wrong with the mission, you should take responsibility."
Jeffery interrupted her. "Susie, you have been making mistakes on your duties for the last two days, so
now I doubt your ability. If you can not be the manager, I do not mind replacing you with someone else."
