Chapter 12

Elena and Demon:

Dusting himself once again looking at the direction the girl who just knocked him with his was heading too.

I will get you back in your own coin soon.

He thought to himself trying to remove her beautiful face from his head. Demon ignored the looks he was receiving and started walking towards the proprietor office.

Some students, especially the guys were disappointed when they didn’t see the newcomer leaping towards the office from the impact of the fall made by one of the new girls. In fact he walked normally like nothing happened.

Entering the office he greeted Mr Philip.

“Yes how may I help you?” Mr Philip asked nicely.

“Am the newly transferred student from Delton High School sir.” Demon responded.

“Oh Damien, we have been expecting you.” Mr Philip said and started going through his files. “I can assure you that your old school isn’t half interesting like here. You will enjoy your new school.” He added giving Demon the school timetable.

Collecting the paper from him. “Thank you sir.” Demon said with a forced smile.

“According to your last school transfer reports, you are a very intelligent young man and I hope you will make my school proud.” Mr Philip told him.

“Of course sir, I will make this school proud.”

“Welcome to Wisdom Oak High School Damien.”

Saying his thanks Demon left the office, going through the timetable, he saw that his first class was history.Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.

History, history. Here I come.

He thought as he magically found his way to the history class without asking for anyone’s help.

___

Elena and Eva walked down the school hall and stopped to ask a girl standing in the hallway the direction to English and History class. Which she directed them.

Saying their thanks the two sisters continue their walk.

“You shouldn’t have done that to him Elena, he is too handsome to be knocked down,” Eva said with a dreamy look as she thinks of Demon.

“Hush, do not call out my name like that. The assassin might be somewhere near.” Elena reprimand her.

“So what should I call you then?” Eva demanded.

“Ena, and you shouldn’t bear your real name too You know we are starting a new life here for the main time until we get back home.”

“Well all thanks to you.” Eva retorted out. They had reached the history class.

“Are you sure you can find your class by yourself?” Elena asked before Eva will move.

“Of course, am not 4,” Eva said as she snorted out “See you later sis.” And with that she left her sister and hurried to find her English class.

Elena huff out in the air and rolled her eyes at her sister before she entered her class.

And at the same time the school bell rang to remind the students that classes have started.

Elena greeted the female teacher seated in the empty classroom and choose the sit at the very end of the classroom.

Where are the rest of the students? Didn’t they hear the bell?

Elena thought and as if on cue, the door to the classroom opened and the students started coming in, they were surprised to see their history teacher in the class before them.

Elena ignore the looks some of her new classmates throw to her, probably they saw what she did a few minutes ago.

“Hello everyone, how was your holidays?” The teacher asked with a charming smile.

“Fine.”

“Great.”

“Good.”

“Nice.”

“Awesome.”

“Fabulous.”

These was the response of the students except Elena.

“That’s good to hear, my name is Grace Law your history teacher,” Grace said. “We have a new student here, can you tell us your name?”

Elena didn’t need to be told twice that she was the new girl Grace was referring to. “I am Ena.”

“Welcome to our school Ena,” Grace said. Since today is the first day of resumption, we shall only talked about Myths.” She added.

Everyone started bringing out their books except Elena.

The topic has been taught to her in her former school before she graduated. She placed her head on her desk trying to block the noise from disturbing her, which strangely works. She couldn’t hear a single noise.

“So what is a myth?” Grace asked her students.

At that moment, the door that leads to the classroom opened and Demon step in.

He sent a smile to Grace who returned it quickly.

“Sorry I am late Ma’am.” Demon said trying to force himself to apologize for his lateness. “Am the newly transferred student.”

“It’s okay and what’s your name?” Grace asked battling her eyes at him.

“Damien ma’am.” Demon gave out his fake name he will be using for now until his mission is done. He said it loudly so that the students could hear.

“Okay Damien. I am Grace Law, you can have your sit now.”

“Thanks Gra- I mean ma’am.” Demon said and finally turned to face the children he will be spending time with. Suddenly he saw the purple hair, though not the face, but he knew immediately it was the girl who had the guts to enter his car and jammed him.

And lucky enough, the seat next to her was empty and without thinking he began walking towards her.

Reaching her side, he sat down on the empty seat making sure he draw noise before seating, he thought she would looked up to meet his gaze but nothing of such happened. He couldn’t stop himself from staring at her and he suddenly found himself caving to see her face.

What is suddenly wrong with him? How can he be carving to see the child face? He has a wife for crying out loud.

“So let’s continue from where we stop.” Grace said when she saw the handsome newcomer wasn’t staring at her. “What’s a Myth?”

“A traditional story, especially one concerning the early history of a people or explaining some natural or social phenomenon, and typically involving supernatural beings or events.” One of the students answered.

“That’s very nice definition of Myth John.” Grace said smiling at John. “So who can explain more of Myth functions?”

“Myth has two main functions, The first is to answer the sort of awkward questions that children ask, such as ‘Who made the world? How will it end? Who was the first man? Where souls go after death?’… The second function of Myth is to justify an existing social system and account for traditional rites and customs. In ancient Greece, stories about gods and goddesses and heroes and monsters were an important part of everyday life. They explained everything from religious rituals to the weather, and they gave meaning to the world people saw around them.”

All students turned their heads to look shockingly at Damien who answered the question.

“Wow. That was a brilliant answer Damien,” Grace said with a smile.

“Thank you ma’am.”

“So what are the names of the gods and goddesses in Greece?”

“Actually there are 13 main Olympians gods and goddesses Greece had.” Demon answered.

“Which are?” Grace asked and then noticed the girl beside him. “Ena!! Damien please dear tap her for me.”

Demon slightly touched the girl’s shoulder.

Elena slowly lift up her head and turn to see who touched her only for her to come face to face with the spoilt brat.

“Now that you are finally awake since you think here is your home. I want you to give me the main names of the Olympians gods and goddesses and their powers.”

“I bet you don’t know it.” Demon said in gloat.

Snorting loudly, she begins. “The twelve main Olympians are:

Zeus (Jupiter, in Roman mythology): the king of all the gods (and father to many) and god of weather, law and fate.

Hera (Juno): the queen of the gods and goddess of women and marriage.

Aphrodite (Venus): goddess of beauty and love.

Apollo (Apollo): god of prophecy, music and poetry and knowledge.

Ares (Mars): god of war.

Artemis (Diana): goddess of hunting, animals and childbirth.

All eyes were on her.

The students couldn’t believe their ears. What they had been trying to study before they went for holiday two newly students came and say it.

Grace was speechless. She wasn’t expecting that. She thought Ena couldn’t give the right answers.

Elena turned her gaze to Demon scornfully.

“I bet you are surprised.”

Demon was surprise but tried to hide it.

“Well you didn’t put the name of the main villain of the Olympians in your lists. He is important you know.”

“You are still finding excuses, so who is this particular Olympians I did not mention Mister know all?”

“Hades (Pluto): god of the underworld.” Demon answered with a smirk.
